- The F1 grid for 2025 isn’t getting any clearer very quickly. Seven of the ten teams still don’t have a driver lineup, eight if you want to throw in Aston Martin but you probably shouldn’t. The bottom five teams in particular are almost a complete mystery with just Williams and Sauber with a confirmed driver from 2025. With so many drivers out of contract and so many seats available, they’re all doing everything they can to sell themselves to the grid and that means at some teams, certain drivers are getting completely shown up. There is no one an F1 driver wants to beat more than their own teammate and when your seat is on the line, doing so is all the more important. Today I’ll check out the drivers who are putting themselves at serious risk of losing an F1 seat by getting destroyed by their teammates, so don’t go anywhere.

Ricciardo is without a doubt the nicest, funniest guy in F1.
However, his driving ability has never been more than third tier and now he appears to have slipped back even further.
He should do himself a favour and bow out graciously, before he makes a fool of himself.
He'd walk into any media outlet as a top pundit, and have the world at his feet.
I agree. If I was him i'd quit after such a bad performance in Monaco, a track where he usually thrives. But of course I don't have the ego of a F1 driver...

Yuki is that good this year. He’s turned out to be my favorite driver.

I like Ricciardo a lot, but I'm surprised he's still there after such a horrible first third of the season, without even mentioning 2023. De Vries was ejected for much less than that, and it was his rookie season!
Only reason he still around is Horner, same goes for Perez but he ticks the diversity box.

Interesting you didn't mention Kmag and Logan. Anyhow, the one with the biggest issue is Daniel by far. Whilst this season he has been demolished by Yuki consistently, even if you look back to 2023 when Daniel made his return, Yuki has always been the one consistently scoring points. Yuki is now ahead 11-2 when it comes to point scoring finishes in races where both have raced together. That is over 19 races (including sprints) so definitely not a small sample size anymore, and people can't use the "it's too early to tell" excuse, and I definitely hope VCARB do the right thing and keep Yuki and drop Daniel for Liam.
Ocon has personality problems but at least he has demonstrated he is a fast driver, Zhou is a really tricky one to assess given he's just had a really slow car, and he was a bit better last season when it comes to H2H performance.
Of course Logan is an absolute given.
Zhou has had a rough time in a bad car but he can't touch Bottas in qualifying and that is a sign of a problem.
@@F1REVERSE Ok, let me get this straight. Zhou, who has been on the grid for years, it's the car. Logan, driving for a team that's 20 years behind the times , places all of their energy in Alex and gives him the better equipment, demoralizes his confidence and spirit by taking his car after Alex crashed his, is only into his second year, he must go! The double standards are incredible.
@@sandratracy1378 The situation is quite different to be honest. Logan has failed to beat Alex almost every single time, and the gap has also been quite significant. He has also been very error prone and crashing way too often.
Zhou on the other hand, has been a bit closer to Bottas, and also hasn't made many errors. You could argue Logan has tougher competition so of course not entirely a fair comparison, but you get my point.
I think the conclusion is both don't deserve the seat at this point, Zhou may be performing relatively better but he's not showing any signs of improving anymore, and Logan has just been really bad since joining F1 and also not really showing any signs of improvement.

Unfortunately all 5 probably don’t deserve a seat next year, and probably only one will retain a seat (guess who!)
Stroll this season has actually matched Alonso in qualifying, they are 4 for 4. They have been the closest teammates in terms of quali performance. Obviously in points scored it is a very different story but he is still better than the other four you mention.
Stroll is decent for a paid sponsored driver.
Stroll is one of the few drivers that made a pass at monoco.
Please put Stroll on top of that list, the only thing that he can do properly is licking jelly off of a window.
Another Window cleaner: Ocon. I can't believe that piece of French turd is still in F1.
It’s been so hard seeing Riccardo falling off so hard. He has moments of brilliance but then has 2 or 3 weeks of underperforming. Even as an Aussie I think we need to see what Liam Lawson can do in the RB, if not at some stage this year, we need to see him next.
2 or 3 weeks? He has had 2 point finishes over 19 races. It's more like he has 1 good performance every 10 races...

He’s struggled since leaving Red Bull and been out performed by every team mate. Sad to see but I think he’s only there as he’s a nice popular guy but looks like he’s done 😞

I think it's time for Daniel to go and usher in Lawson. I also think the time for Ocon in an F1 car is coming to an end soon, no team wants such a driver who fights his teammates more than the other drivers. He's the enemy within the team.
Honestly for Alpine, they should have Doohan in for 2025. Get him in on a year where there will be no pressure to perform and he can grow. 2026 is when the regs change and you're going to to start with a clean slate. Get him track experience so he's ready for 2026. Ocon and Gasly hasn't and will never work. Both are solid but Ocon has moments of madness and Gasly can at least be relied upon to follow team orders. I wouldn't make the switch right now though even as punishment for Ocon, but as soon as Williams or Haas is realistically out of reach in the constructors (say 10 pts) or if Sauber somehow manage to leapfrog them, I'd be making the change.
Problem with Alpine is they are so mid that people dont even think of its existence

Lawson shouldn’t have stopped when DR got injured. Him and Yuki get along and I could see them putting the team forward. But now it’s too late, Lawson won’t get a drive cos F1 is all about the money

Daniel wasn't too far off the pace against Yuki at Monaco during quali, there was less than .2 difference between him & Yuki. At the restart Daniel was on H and the two Aston's were on M, significant difference in grip & Dan avoiding binning the car after how aggressive both those drivers can be into turn 1 at other races.
I feel like I see this same comment every race for Daniel. Always some reason its not his fault he wasn't able to beat Yuki, or he wasn't very far off Yuki's pace at all, etc. etc. Only 2 point finishes over 19 races. Thank God Daniel did good in that one sprint race because in actual races it has been abysmal.
I predict Zhou Guanyu will still be in the team despite his poor performance when audi take over, china is audis biggest market and what better to sell more cars in china than with a Chinese f1 driver marketing them! F1 is about money and marketing if you want to watch a pure motor sport then watch ELMS, no OEMs to muddy the waters.
The problem with Vcarb and the drivers. You cant sell Tsunoda. Riiccardio you can. Hes the face of a team.
Great video! I agree, I think there'll be a hefty shakeup. Ricciardo gone, Lawson replacing. Perez staying (deserved) Sainz to Sauber, Kmag gone. Bottas to Haas with Ollie Bearman, Ocon gone or Williams. Zhou out of F1, Seargant out of F1.
Perez doesn’t deserve to stay if they can’t win the constructors but win the drivers.

Ocon needs his grey matter worked on, like whoever is working on Yuki. I bet he doesn't even get along with his own Mom. Any yteam picking Ocon up if he doesn't get his head readjusted if foolish.
Guanyu just doesn't have it, but I would like to see another driver in that car at an FP1 just to see what the car can do.....but Stake Stinks
It's clear as water how f1 favors some drivers over others. Yuki finishes over daniel. People's reaction "ehhh" daniel finishes over Yuki. "OH yeah daniel is going to that second RB seat. He deserves it"
Ocon needs Togo as does Gyuanyu
My take is:
1st tier drivers: Max, Leclec, Sainz, Lando, Piastri
2nd tier driver: George, Hamilton, Alonzo, Yuki, Perez
3rd tier drivers: Bottas, Stroll, Gasly, Hulk, Riccardo, Albon
4th tier drivers: Zhou, Sargent, Kmag (crash king), and Ocon (terrible teammate)
When you got Liam Lawson and Jake Doohan waiting in the wings plus the younger brigade it's criminal that they can't get a drive. I'd still like to see what Zhou could do in a better car, unlike Ricciardo he's never had that chance.
Esteban should be outsted. He's dangerous. I wouldnt trust that guy with a grocery cart.
Second chances in F1 is the ultimate arrogance demonstration- giving these seats to underperforming drivers over young and competent ones is bad for the sport

They should bin Ocon for at least 2 races and put Jack in so they can evaulate hom for next year just in case they need/want to replace a driver. Ocon should as both should know the old rule, never take your team mate out.
You now what would be fun? Putting Ocon and Magnussen on the same team. Williams, maybe, for extra high speed unpredictability.

This is not the 1st occasion of Ocon trying to kill his team mate, It's not even the 4th or 5th time. It is in fact a reguarly occuring ellement of his driving style. Please for the love of God, sack him already! Now don't get me wrong, I like Ocon, I do! I even hold an extra point or 2 towards him as the only sole survivor on the grid from way back during the days of Manor Racing! But he needs removing from that seat! @F1 Reverse Can you possibly do a little vid explaining why the Magnussen/Perez incident WASN'T investigated by the stewards please? Also am I right in thinking Kevin already has 10 points on his licence so far?
Silly season still im full action, especially with the latest accidents. Canada will be a deciding race.
Yeah, it looks like a sure bet that Danny Ric, Zhou, and Logan Sargeant will be looking for a job next year. No telling where most of the rest will end up, though.

VCARB= Riccardo/Lawson
HAAS= Bearmen/Bottas
Alpine= Gasly/Yuki (BFs reunited)
AMG= Russell/Verstappen
RB= Perez/Sainz
Williams= Albon/Schumacher
Sauber= Hulk/Zhou
Biggest flop is having Lance as a teammate. Aston needs to get rid of him.

@@DoWorkNP well he’s a consistently good driver, alongside Hamilton he was doing a better job then Perez managed, he’s a team player and a pretty nice guy a good coach in terms of that sense for young Oliver and less crash happy then some of the other options
If Stroll had any decency or his father enough balls, TSUNODA should get the second racing position at Aston Martin. I hope the HONDA engines do their magic and force Stroll out and Tsunoda in.

Welcome everybody to my Dani Ric haters club!! I’ve been the chairman of the club since mid 2021 when it became obvious that McLaren was bamboozled in hiring him. Gave him the benefit of the doubt going into 22 but was quickly vindicated.

@@mutleyeng why are you coming into the picture? Just look at his team mate going around in circles around Daniel, outqualifying him on Saturdays and collecting points on Sundays. Daniel is nowhere close with the same hardware that both drivers have. He clearly is doing as much as he can which is clearly not enough to beat his teammate.
Ive been waking up at ass crack hours too watch half these races, I’ve also been watching every interview and reading on any other relevant information because it’s my special interest, EVERYBODY on the team that has any sort of information that she relevant (e.g. the mechanics, team principal, helmut marko, yuki) have been saying that the car had been getting so much better, mostly for yukis, because Daniel gives really good feedback. Yuki started to improve A LOT ever since Daniel came back Andy gave all this feedback. He was struggling last year yes because of being off for so long, but this year, he did really well in Miami because they changed his chassis and fixed a major issue in it from the previously races, he did struggle in Monaco yes but he took it in his stride. Yukis current success relies on Daniels feedback Andy their new team principle being less of a dickhead than micheal was. Maybe you should watch the races sometime instead of drive to survive 💀
What are you even trying too say lad? 💀 I’m saying he should driving too the best of his ability in a car that’s not made for him and has had so so many confirmed issues by the mechanics, if you got put in any sort of f1 car you’d send it into the wall after pressing the throttle, most your getting paid is a kick up the ass
