I ended up going to OLD Cemetery Road--fewer people there during their LD weekend. I don't catch anything. I was mostly focused on working out the bumps on my new kayak. I decided I don't like jet ski wake.@@RoadandReel
Hey this is a great video. I just moved to Bakersfield from Pennsylvania so I am learning about local waterways. Looking forward to fishing the Kern River/Lake Isabella. Tight lines. 🎣
Speaking of no shame.. when I had the opportunity to stay in Wofford Heights and fish the upper Kern ( usually twice a year) I would sometimes get a trip where it looked like I may get skunked. My go to and always successful technique was to put a black panther martin with yellow spots on my fly leader and drift it down into a deep pool. Money every time! Even on a blown out muddy water trip. I never liked leaving the Kern without hooking and landing at least one of those upper Kern Hogs! Thanks for the report!
