Dear @Barthmerrill7947 thank you for your kind words. I always look forward to hearing from you. I wish you a wonderful holiday season and hope to welcome you next year on Bold Books and Bones. Warm regards, Lieven 🌟📚📖🌟☺
Have asked the library to get it. Of course most of their catalogue lists light fiction, local history and celebrity biography - a different kind of censorship - but they're willing to consider requests favourably... A while ago your channel led me to Richard Ovenden's Burning The Books, which was, luckily, easily obtainable in paperback. I look forward to reading this one. And to your thoughts on returning from your latest travels.
@woollyfingers Nice to read that your library is welcoming requests. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on my channel and for your interest in the episodes that I make. I wish you a nice holiday season and yes I’m working hard on a next episode while I’m in China 🇨🇳😊 Hope you will enjoy the episode when it is ready. Warm regards, Lieven
Very good, but it becomes painful when these words, spoken in a sweet, soft way (whispering) describe a situation we are living in, with increasing censorship (since that strange virus, to the current moment, in a certain country in the Americas)...
This is a thought provoking topic, and your presentation of it is inspiring. As you mention, banning a book would put it in rarified company, including Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass, and William Burroughs' Naked Lunch, from which Steely Dan drew their name. Growing up in a Catholic environment, the archdiocese in which I lived regularly published a list of "prohibited" movies, which was blithely ignored in my household. 😡
Hi Patrick, nice to hear from you! So you had first hand experience with censorship when you were younger. Thank you for sharing 🌟 I wish you a nice WE, Lieven 🌟📚📖🌟😊
if youre a conservative in America, and anyone ever accuses you of "banning books" in schools...simply ask them this question...which books? youll quickly see why some books should absolutely be banned depending on the types of people who have access to them. for example, a child shouldnt be reading books related to sex, transgender ideology, or anything else aimed at manipulating impressionable minds. this is not "knowledge", its indoctrination...
Another fascinating and professionally produced episode…..and another book to add to my reading list. Many thanks.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It should be indeed an important concern. We can not let this happen.
