They were incredible! Stu crashing a snare, tipical of him. Andy solo´s, I whis they did that on the final tour.... FANTASTIC. A real fan do not complain. HELL YES THE POLICE!!! Regards from Uruguay!
The energy here is great, because--as far as they knew at the time--this might be IT for the mighty police. So, they play like guys savoring every note as their last. Great energy. Saw them live in 2007, but of course, this kind of passion doesn't come through on day 297 of a billion mile tour.
Indeed, Copelands snare does break, but still plays on! The Police are getting back together and playing at Fenway Park! I got the best seats in the house! Cost enough too!
I agree that this isn't the greatest but you got to remember after almost 20 years of not playing with each other its hard to recreate what once was and always will be some of the best music of all time.
Their problem from day 1 was they were each and every one excellent. And they each and every one knew it, not just about themselves, but about each other. No one could subordinate. They were all too good.
I'm amazed by the number of people saying that this sucks. I could agree this wasn't their best, but considering they haven't played together for 20 years and the fact that they hate to play with each other at that time, I think this was their best. All was good, but the tension between them really wreck the chemistry, seems they're annoyed by each other's style after few songs.. Like andy and stewart missed a lot in message in a bottle, sting's voice was so off in roxanne, so in this last song the tension got really high.
+Saras wati They were incredible! Stu crashing a snare, tipical. Andy solo´s, I whis they did that on the final tour.... FANTASTIC. A real fan do not complain.
one funny thing I noticed, at 4:15 you can see the batterhead of his snare drum is shattered, at 4:45 (30 seconds later) you can hear the snare drum clearly again. Also around the end you can see that the snaredrumhead look ok. This was a really quick switch of snaredrums, in the middle of a song. WOW!
Ya gotta love it when Steven Tyler walks up to Andy and slides his fingers up the guitar neck, making a cool sound at 4:22. Andy then starts laughing as he pushes Steven away for making him miss his cue for the ending.
Bass needs to be a little louder, drums need to be much louder, guitar on the other hand is too loud. I think they were trying to sound punk, didnt come off well. Still cool.
haha I love how they could have ended the song there, after Stew broke his snare head and Sting had to do the "one... two... three... four" refrain out his ass. I bet he was fucking with Stew there, all in good fun, of course. They always gave each other shit.
I love Andy...but that night, he sucked! I don't know what's up. He loses it on every song...not his night. Still love the energy though, and he redeemed himself on the tour!
the police hadnt played in 20 years, no rehearsal, of course it sounds like shit. they sound tight right now. have seen them 5 times on this tour. plan to see them at least 3 more times.
Steve Copelands snare drum skin busts...no1s seen that??????omg 4.13 i dnt think it was a terible performance, i just dnt think they were fully ready enough 4 the gig ( lill more rehersal n done somethin with the rythem guitar lol).
I could not agree more! Sting has been playing a long for to long!! Just stop trying to make the song something is not.. It's just really simple! I love Sting's solo work also... but don't mix it... It might have been an idea to practice a little too..
I agree. It's a pretty simple song and they can't play it well at all. Who are the clowns that gave this performance 4 or 5 stars? It's so bad that Sting starts introducing everyone and their brother to distract people from how bad he sounds. And the part with John Mayer and Gwen Stefani makes it go from bad to f'ing embarassing.
nah mate, people say that cos try to find excuses. AC/DC have never wanted beat everyone thy just do their own thing! ya know? there not resposable for people like you! there not over rated! its people like you who make them seem overated! watch a doco on them, it may change yah opinion on them and possibly introduce you to a new aspect of rock.
amazing band, but god awful performance, it sounds like they haven't played together in decades(sarcasm), the sound engineer should be ashamed of himself as well, Stew breaking the head is the only entertaining part of this

3:43 Stewart Copeland blows up his snare.....
4:33 in comes a replacement!! Epic!
Holy crap, good catch. How did they do that so fast?!
Indeed, Copelands snare does break, but still plays on! The Police are getting back together and playing at Fenway Park! I got the best seats in the house! Cost enough too!
the police forever...amazing day...the police legend...i love the police forever

Every single day and every word you say
Every game you play
Every night you stay, I'll be watching you
Oh can't you see you belong to me?

Beautiful song!
Only Stu can crash a drum on Every... he´s so AWESOOOOOOME!!! lol!

Whoever the drum tech was, he's comparable with F1's pit crews... excellent!
Stewart's drum tech, Jeff Seitz, was right on it for the switch.
Ya gotta love it when Steven Tyler walks up to Andy and slides his fingers up the guitar neck, making a cool sound at 4:22. Andy then starts laughing as he pushes Steven away for making him miss his cue for the ending.
Every breath you have take )))))))
Actually, Stewart Copeland is known for having his techs make his drumheads REALLY tight. So in a concert situation, it's easy to break.
ya Stewart Copeland hits his drums really hard, its just how he plays, he is amazing still they all are.
awesome
thx
yeah, it looks like the snare head broke at around 3:39. you can see his reaction. And at the end of the song, you can see that the snare is replaced.
Stewert broke his snare head towards the end, and resorted to the Tom
And then the drum tech brought him a new snare. You can see him playing it again 30 seconds later
Bass needs to be a little louder, drums need to be much louder, guitar on the other hand is too loud. I think they were trying to sound punk, didnt come off well. Still cool.
look at how unhappy andy is when Watt Tyler touches his guitar making the cool noise but also making andy him miss the start of the outro...
Holy shit
Man Stuart Copeland plays hard, or tunes his snare too tight...note the busted head towards the end, and he plays the snare hits on a tom...classic.
He has his snare heads really tight
Steven Tyler also performed with AC/DC that night
@DrumAndreas Think he could rotate snare or someone else might have brought to him another one
Has Stewart done this sort of thing back then?
haha I love how they could have ended the song there, after Stew broke his snare head and Sting had to do the "one... two... three... four" refrain out his ass. I bet he was fucking with Stew there, all in good fun, of course. They always gave each other shit.
When did it brake?
who are these guys on either side of gwen stefani?
Why did they walk in like it was their reward? The police earned it and they had to ruin the performance. Fuck sake.
I love Andy...but that night, he sucked! I don't know what's up. He loses it on every song...not his night. Still love the energy though, and he redeemed himself on the tour!
+togeho Andy was toying around!!! Loved what he did on the guitar...
I love this song, but the sound it's kind of crappy....
It sounds crappy
It sounds crappy because it got Glen Stefani and Steven Tyler singing background
the police hadnt played in 20 years, no rehearsal, of course it sounds like shit. they sound tight right now. have seen them 5 times on this tour. plan to see them at least 3 more times.
not at all,its been almost 20 years since they dont play with each other if you where a musician you would understand.

Hey sting I love your solo music but quit messing around and get the police back together
hah yeah i saw the snare drum bust.
hahah...dbest!

I think it's a great song but the sound engineer totally fucked up. And the guitar solo seems to be bad played to.
AC/DC stilled this show
Simplified drum set compared to what Stewart usually plays...one less tom-tom.
this is nothing compared to what i saw yesterday live on the police reunion tour!! gaawd i hate gwen
No John Bonham was God. Stewart Copeland is Jesus. Second best drummer out there.

Horrible and I am the biggest fan of this band. What happened here is many years of not playing together and sting trying to sound like a black woman.
John Mayer, Gwen Stefani, and Steven Tyler making more of a clusterfuck out of a shitty performance.
this version sucked
