i am 72 yrs old, and i will say this, this is the GREATEST song ever written, and played. The intro is awesome, and that guitar riff at end is amazing. Kids, this is what talent is all about.....................
Saw them at HORDERN PAVILION Sydney NSW. Many moons ago. Just fabulous
true sir. this is legendary
100% right! I’m 60 and I consider this THE definitive rock song of all time! Brilliant performance here!
totally agree, thanks for the r i f f Ian Anderson! Song we used to know, Jethro Tull 1969. 61 years old, before anybody gets their panties in a bunch, Big Time Eagles fan, just saying. Joe Walsh, megadose of adrenaline and talent Into the Heart of that band!.
I'm 34 years old and I agree. This song is a masterpiece.
Their ability to replicate their recorded sound live almost note-perfect is just jaw-dropping.
That and in my opinion exceed the quality. Joe's guitar solo doesn't hit in the remastered like it does here.
Definitely
I agree! That's a rare thing, especially today.
Another artist I grew to respect after seeing him in concert was John Denver. Like him or not, he was a gifted artist. He played his songs live with an accuracy you could have played his albums along with. Word for word, note for note.
Henley and Frey were adamant about live performances sounding exactly like the studio recordings. Felder and Walsh both claimed that neither Frey nor Henley would allow them to stray from the recorded version(s).
Saw Henley do his In a New York Minute tour in Mtl many years ago and was absolutely fabulous
My dad played this song for me, when i was a kid in his truck. Today I returned the favor and played it for my kids in my truck 🤘

I love funk and soul and I'm white. Love me some Johnny Guitar Watson, Funkadelics and Commodores. But also Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Elvis Costello .
For Don Henley to play the drums and sing so flawlessly at a live concert is unbelievable!
Right?
Being able to sing well, or play drums are both great abilities to be blessed with. But to do both at the same time? Amazing.
Not for nothing, but Ringo Starr was doing it with his All Starr Band. There are probably others whom I simply can't think of just now. It is an amazing talent, though.
And 24 years later on their Hotel California tour he's still fabulous! Saw them in Austin in May and Don and the rest of the band still performing at a top level!

I was 10 yo when this song was on the radio. Whenever I hear any Eagles song, it fills me with overwhelming emotions of the innocence of childhood, riding shotgun with my dad in his truck, windows down, the smell of his cigarettes (hey. It was the '70s. Don't judge.). I miss him everyday . It's the small things like Hotel California that lets me close my eyed and spend a few minutes with him.

I hear you but my father was not into the Eagles. I got the windows down (no AC) and cigarettes but I was on my own. This haunts me every time I play it.
That was such a beautiful description of the era of this song. 8 track tape, my mom's car. We used to drive 1000 miles from LA back home to Northern California several times a year. This song. Night. Windows open. Me and my brothers and sisters all singing it together.

Condolences to you for the loss of your grandad. But this is what real talent is all about, replicating the sound on stage just as good as you find it on the recordings. THE NUMBER ONE BAND, EVER.
Felder made them what tey became!
Without Joe Walsh this band would still be just a minor country -rock band, when they brought in.....or should I say when the band joined Joe Walsh, it made them Rock Super Star Ledgen's. When you see an Eagles concert, you get two shows, The Eagles and a Joe Walsh concert too.
@@ogr7771 that's to harsh to say that mate, a group of talented musicians, each with a unique talent, I dont agree with your comment at all, joe was brilliant as well but they all blended as a fantastic band.
@@Richard-ol3reDon Felder owned this. He needed no help from Joe !
45 years of this song , and it still touches something deep inside , even at 56 years old . RIP Glenn you are , and always will be missed , I know you are so proud of Deacon stepping in , and doing a phenominal job too.
im 15 years old and and it's been my favorite song for 2 years
I agree sir...I definitely agree 👍💯
@@mikaelmunar6691 it's the best!!!
@@mikaelmunar6691 bro i swear its the same for me
GREAT DAYS.
These were really musicians and no song can be victorious over this one and with a good vocalist with proper pronunciations of words that can be heard clearly.
Had the opportunity seeing them during the "Hotel California" tour, Springfieldl MA.(1978) Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefers was the opening part of the event. Two 70's Legends. LOVE. PEACE. God Bless
Never get tired of listening to this masterpiece.
Phenomenal group, sadly missed.
I know right ikr
Eagles, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones and a quite a lot of other great bands .. every time I hear their music i get goosebumps. True talents never die.
Hello 👏 Susan chapman how are you doing today I hope you are having a wonderful day with you over there?
One of the greatest songs of all time. Truly legendary.
THE GREATEST, THE GREATEST.
My father listened, me and my son listened, and now my grandson is listening. If you are alive, may God give you health. We grew up with you 🥺
What a band and spell bound production in all respect,, really unbelievable as found being almost a music lover..
It's very tough to sing with drum playing even an impact always you feel during watch such video.
Hat's off because one of the most lovable band it's to me all along.
Every time I hear the intro, there are voices in my head telling "Welcome to the Hotel California"
It's not just a song, it's a masterpiece!
MY NUMBER ONE.
I just hope that the future generations get the heart filled warmth that comes from this song
(Im gen Z) I have this song on my playlist and always start off my playlist with this song.
it's a pretty dark song haha, not a lot of "heart filled warmth"
Wait until you learn what this song is really about and what hotel california ia really used for- nothing “good” about it
I can assure you that the future is secured.

This song can never die, the fact that still people listens to this shows that how powerful this song hits.
Don't get much better then this !!!
IT WILL BE PLAYED FOREVER.
Lets face it today you cant find music any where like this! Long live great music!,!
Yes you're true
Wow just found this. No words are good enough. Thank you Eagles!!
Well formed Video, melody, and words with a deep meaning that touches the hearts of those whose lived the pain of love. In 2024 no ones at this level
I’m an Eagles fan true and through. I have their On the Border album tattooed on my arm for gods sake. Part of me wants to talk about how good this performance is, part of me wants to talk about how good they all look together on stage including Randy and Bernie. Then, part of me wants to brag on how musically sound and talented these guys were. A true masterpiece of a band in all aspects. If you’re an Eagles fan, you know this video may not be here next week to see, so I’ll just enjoy it for now.
just download it man, have it stored somewhere if you love em that much.
RRHOF has rights to it.
Hunter Martin Agree. I’ve been a fan since my college days. And before Eagles, I had the chance to photograph some of the members in bands like Poco. They did the college circuit around NYC.
My love of eagles music dates back to the seventies,, still love their music to bits, at the age of 63... Pure talented people ,, the bestxx
Hunter, you are a true fan through and through. I was 18 when their early stuff came out so caught it at the perfect time. What has always amazed me about this band is how perfect their live performances are. They always sound identical to the record and that's a real tribute to Don Henley and Glen Frey. When I hear another band sound identical to the studio I know they're lip synching.
