Taiga Review, Linnanmaki Intamin LSM Launch Coaster | Finland's Best Roller Coaster!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- Taiga is the Intamin LSM multi-launch coaster at Linnanmaki. This new-for-2019 attraction is built on a hillside and offers amazing views of Helsinki. But the coaster's biggest strength is its relentless pacing and diverse mix of elements.

This roller coaster looks so pretty and it's theme just works. It doesn't seem to be the most airtime centric ride but a striking return to form by Intamin in the intensity department. Can't wait to ride this.
It's so well paced.
That pacing looks so fantastic. This ride looks on pair to Maverick but its so different from Maverick. The airtime, inversion, speed, pacing, positives, whippy elements. And intense launches! Definitely a great fit for the park.
And that setting too!
Taiga always did look like a fun ride but It never quite excited me as much as other people well the layout does look good it looks like it offers more in terms of inversions and hangtime than super rapidfire transitions and airtime which is why I think maverick looked better the only thing holding Maverick down are the restraints if Maverick got these new trains it would be a perfect ride in my opinion
Still bummed that Finland had to get cut from my 2021 itinerary. Everything about this ride and all the reviews scream a top 15 coaster for me. Next year I suppose. Excellent review that has me even more excited.
Hopefully you can make it there next year!
Soon my friend!
Manifesting this :D
@@allieg.5143 Oh hi there. 😂
As a guy who did Vonkaputous, let me tell you that I really didn’t enjoyed that coaster, it was just pretty rough for me, yet taiga, what an upgrade from this abysmal water coaster!
It did not look to great. I'm so glad they have a standout attraction. Taiga looks AMAZING!
I agree.
I also rode it and from my memort it was pretty fun. Ofc nothing spectacular but still nice ride
Dude, your reviews are amazing.
Thank you!
Taiga is my number 1 bucket list coaster! I think it looks like a top 5 coaster for variety!
It's an amazing ride.
Rode Taiga last Saturday front row.
Just WOW what a beast!
My favourite elements are very forceful first launch and first inversion 0G winder and that stall.
It's a powerhouse.
With the space Linnanmaki has, it’s crazy they could fit this in. Props to them.
Are you going to do a Tulireki review? That coaster is weird.
At some point. That coaster was weird, but that wasn't necessarily a good thing in that case.
@@CanobieCoaster When I rode Tulireki this summer, a kid behind me started crying due to the roughness and the abrupt breaks. Second worst coaster in Finland.
@@aapee565 guessing the worst is the volare at sarkaniemi
@@CanobieCoaster If I would have to guess, I'd say Tulireki will see it's fire shimmed at somepoint in close future.
You are on a roll, 3 straight days of newer European coasters that look so amazing, from what I consider to be the best 3 manufacturers going right now. I heard about Taiga in 2019, and I thought it looked so awesome. I was thinking then that I may prefer it to Maverick.
I prefer it to Maverick.
Linnanmäki also had to remove their legendary fun house Vekkula. It was parks second most popular attraction behind Vuoristorata.
Aren't they building a new one to take its place at least?
@@CanobieCoaster yeah. Its been rumoured to open next year I guess?
Yeah they build it again
Yo bro. Good job with all this content pumping
More to come!
@@CanobieCoaster heck yeah. And I love how all the content is good quality
Rode Velocicoaster 7 times over the past two days and it is truly amazing! If you rate this right after it, I want to ride it!
This ride has a lot of similarities.
Really hoped we'd get a review on this bad boy. One of my most intriguing coasters. Great content my man 🤙
Thanks!
The ride time is like a bit over a minute i think but it feels like 20 seconds just because how fast paced and action packed it is, quite literally theres no dull moments in this coaster other than the queue and the final brakerun
I think the S-bends are a little breather, but it's near perfect.
@@CanobieCoaster yea but i think that the elements that come after them more than make up for them. Especially the last s-bend which is followed by a snappy dive into a halfloop thingy, i like the way it whips you down to the loop if you sit at the back in that section
Whoops i meant the tiny drop after the final s bend dont know why i confused it with a loop lol
Great review this ride is very high on my Bucketlist! Sorry to randomly tie this to my home park lol but I think an Intamin LSM would be the perfect vortex replacement. Since the removal was last minute maybe they planned on replacing invertigo and Congo falls first so they could take time to work with intamin for the first time in a while. Or they could just do it as the next coaster but if they used vortex’s hillside like Tiaga does that would be incredible and check off almost all of Kings islands gaps
If they go with a multi-launch, I feel like a Mack one is more likely.
@@CanobieCoaster oh for sure it’s more likely but a guy can dream lol
Cant wait to ride this one day. Did you do the finnish parks as one trip or did you do them as a part of a wider europe trip?
I tacked it onto a longer Europe trip.
7:34 the seccond launch is not the fastest Point at Taiga 😬 the fastest point is after the speed hill before the immelmann
That makes sense.
@@CanobieCoaster but still a nice video 😁 i'm a big fan of your reviews
I rode this beast 2 days ago and it is awesome. It's my new nr1.
Nice!
I still remember the first (currently only, might go on it again soon) time i went on Taiga, my friend told me the 2nd launch dosent fell that fast, It felt faster than what it looked like, i was shaking for probably 5 minutes after the ride. Taiga is not my personal favorite but when i get less scared of it i hope i can enjoy it more.
edit: best ride ever
It's an amazing ride.
New Gen Intamin trains for the win. This coaster looks unbelievable. Live in FL and am grateful to have Velocicoaster in my backyard. Just imagine if Cedar Fair put their pride in their pocket and Intamin did the TT2 project. New gen Intamin trains on TT2 would be exactly what the doctor ordered.
I love these trains.
The variety looks rly good
It is.
I usually get an ejector pop before slamming into the breaks. What was the weather like when you rode it? Just wondering if it was loosing more speed than usual.
It was in the 60s.
You actually experience the fastest speed after the second launch just aster the zero G roller att the bottom before the bunnyjump
Makes sense with the elevation change.
@@CanobieCoaster wow, Im impressed how fast you replied to this comment :D
I haven't ridden this coaster, but it looks great! I really agree with that zero-g inversion, it looks to have great airtime! The 2 s-bends don't look that forceful, but the first launch looks insane. The top hat looks to have breathtaking views of Helsinki, and the stall looks forceful. However, the immelman looks to be not hat forceful, but the airtime hill before it looks on par with pantheons and ice breakers death hills. I do agree that this is better than maverick, but I would take maverick every time in terms of snappy transitions.
If you value pure force, Maverick is better. But I like this ride more when you include the elements, setting, and restraints.
@@CanobieCoaster I agree.
@@CanobieCoaster But in comparison, maverick has more force which is why I think maverick is the best intamin. But the restraints and the scenery and that darn airtime hill look to be way better than maverick, your personal opinion 😀
@@CanobieCoaster and by the way, my home park in Albuquerque called cliffs, DESPERATELY NEEDS JUST ANY ROLLER COASTER
Is this comparable to Maverick or VelociCoaster intensitywise?
Velocicoaster
I wonder how this ride stacks up compared to Velocicoaster. They have their similarities and Taiga was really fun so how different are they?
Similar forces. Velocicoaster has the theming though.
So is the Tophat 52 meters tal or is that including the elevation of the terrain? It doesn't look like 52 meters st first glance to me.
I think the 52 meter figure is the difference from the ride's highest and lowest point.
How fast is the first launch?
I'm not sure.
(I'm writing and editing this as I'm watching the video)
Vonkaputous, Vekkula-funhouse and a farm-themed kiddie ride KotKot were removed from the way of Taiga.
As for the ride itself, the design of the track is retelling eagle's flying, thus the eagle-themed trains as well.
I wish I could have tried the fun house, but Taiga is objectively better.
@@CanobieCoaster I went there with my class in spring 2018 (6th grade class trip was always Linnanmäki), and I was so pissed they had removed the fun house for that season. Ended up hanging in the Sea Life with a friend for most of the time.
i went on taiga today a few times, i waited for the front line for maybe 20 min extra, it was the last ride we had time for, and when it was our turn, they closed the front row due to the rain, very unfortunate, but no one got anything from this, i wasted 20 min (it was a short line) in which i chould have went on it an extra time, i really hoped we whould get something such as an skip the line pass (usually in my case if something similar happens the people get awarded something like that) but we got nothing (but pain from the rain)
That's unfortunate. I was able to ride it in the rain 3 years ago.
Another of my bucket list coasters! What did you think about Ulku?
Do you mean Ukko? I have a review on the same ride at Magic Springs.
can you add an intensity rating in your reviews similar too how xscream thrills does?
I can touch on intensity, but I probably won't add a separate rating for it.
@@CanobieCoaster ok cool
If Maverick had the new restraints would you still like Taiga more?
I think I'd still prefer Taiga.
When I think of the word taiga, I think of that one Minecraft biome called a “ taiga biome”
Never played Minecraft.
Oh ok
Six Flags New England should get this to replace Goliath and Flashback. I wonder how much it cost. If it's under 15M, it might be within Six Flags' budget.
If they get a launch coaster, I suspect it would be from Premier, S&S, or Mack given what we have seen at other parks.
bus is Taiga better than Helix?
I prefer Helix.
I love taiga, my second favourite ride in europe.
It's a great ride.
Let me guess, is helix your favorite?
@@vekehamppari no helix is 14 zadra is 1 (europe only)
I think it actually reaches its top speed after the zero g stall
It's possible with that elevation change.
@@CanobieCoaster that would mean that it takes the speed hill att its fastest speed.
Taiga or Zadra?
Zadra
RIP Vonkaputous, but your sacrifice was absolutely not in vain.
Agreed!
Linnanmäki is my homepark
It's a cool park.
I refuse to believe it's correct to call a roll with hangtime 'Zero-G-Roll'
Maybe
Can I just say Canobie Coaster > Coaster Studios
Glad you enjoy the content!
I think taiga looks better than maverick
I think so.
