7:27 This might be the most satisfying coaster video I've ever seen. Look how the rocket booster stays in the same place throughout the roll 😍
You're welcome!
I’m so glad you reviewed this because nobody talked about it before
You're welcome!
Those queue stick things are so odd! This coaster looks amazing
Many queues have them there!
they were removed last summer. they were added to accomodate for corona as the 6 feet distance was heavily enforced across the country. in 2020, powerland had a attendance limit of 500 guests per day still my best year ever there. none of the rides had any queue time for the entire day . in 2021 they lifted off this limit and added these pads into the queue lines.
Awesome review! I love Eurofighters so I wouldn’t be surprised if I loved this ride
Makes sense!
so fun fact, i have been able to ride this thing twice with my hands in the air for the entire ride, including on the 0 g roll. i've never grayed out though, not even when i've ridden this during the afternoon. suppose im just used to high forces
Nice!
This coaster is so weird and funny! From the tiny trains to the oddly shaped elements, this looks straight out of a cartoon
True!
You forgot to mention that all parks w both a B&M hyper and giga have both coasters with a completely different layout, especially Canada Wonderland and King's Island, where the hyper is even with (if not actually better than) the giga for quality. Only at Carowinds is the giga a unanimous winner, and even that isn't a particularly airtime based ride. Also: the reason you don't feel a difference between the front and back is because it's all one car. In conclusion: I'd never heard of this coaster until now and after seeing this I think it's not as good a Karnan but it's probably better than The Smiler or any other Gerstlauer I've ridden. Thanks for posting!
You'd be surprised. I have made 2 trips to Carowinds over multiple days in 2018 & 2021, and I always talk with locals while waiting in lines. It's about 50/50 between Fury & Intimidator among the general public. They would tell me that they like that Intimidator has a lot more hills, and they don't like Fury's rattle. I think it's just us enthusiasts who (almost) unanimously pick Fury. For my tastes, at KI & CW, the giga is easily better than the hyper.
The two cars articulate independently. But they're too short to make a difference for me.
Junker was my first launch coaster :D I am a local! Did you visit Särkänniemi while you were in Finland? Särkänniemi has one of the two intamin full circle inverted coasters.
Yes, Tornado was a lot of fun.
The other Intamin Inverted coaster is also named Tornado (It’s at Parque de Attractions
Maybe the queue sticks are meant to deter line jumping
Maybe!
Could we be seeing a off ride footage video? 👀 and I think those stocks are to stop line jumping.
Oh maybe! And there is an off-ride posted.
When i went last summer the paddles on the queue lines were removed.
Good to know!
I made a coaster like this on a coaster game i've got on my iPad (I included the dive loop from this ride, the launch, the zero-g roll)
Gerstlauer Infinities are really versatile and fun models.
Do you prefer Junker or Taiga as the best coaster in Finland?
Taiga
This looks really good sadly I don't know if I will ever make it to Finland but we will see
Maybe one day!
Can't believe I've never heard of this coaster, it's enormous! Is this where the Finnish Loop came from?
Yes
Yes
Oui
(4:52) It looks like it goes through a banana roll you find on steel curtin!
From that angle, yes.
@@CanobieCoaster Imagine if it did!!
Just imagine.... A mack multilaunch with the powerful launches of a gerstlauer
I can dream.
First
Nice!
If it`s named after the german plane manufacture then it´s actually pronounced younker with (you like in you). Nice review
Ah whoops!
@@CanobieCoaster No problem until nowI thought it was pronounced junker too and I'm german XD. Btw, Kärnan is actually pronounced carenuhn in german but I think more people call it karnan because there are more english speaking coaster fans than there are germans who actually know about Kärnan :)
This is an absolutely sick layout, looks like something I'd build in planco. Can't believe I haven't heard of this place before
It is very far north and not many enthusiasts make it there.
Great Review. Junker completely blew me away after my first ride. It's a shame how few people talk about this ride. Junker has everything a coaster needs in my opinion. I was surprised how smooth it was. Really a phenomenal coaster and after 25 rides Junker sits in my top 5.
More people just need to visit this park.
Unpopular opinion: gertslauer is my fav manufacturer
They are a good one, but I prefer a few others like RMC, Intamin, and B&M.
@@CanobieCoaster I havent ridden an RMC yet so maybe my opinion can change. But idk what i like about Gertslauer i just love em so much
Edit: changed them to gertslauer
Does underrated mean
It's a ride people don't give enough credit to.
Another great review, I would have had no clue the ride was like this from watching the POV
The small trains allow this ride to have abrupt transitions.
The park this coaster is in is the northernmost amusement park in the world. Its latitude is 63°N. That is close to the Arctic Circle, though it is unlikely we will see the Arctic get an amusement park. With indoor parks, it would be cool to have roller coasters through lit tunnels, bumper cars going on neon lit tracks, and a stimulated starry sky due to how cold it would be outside.
On the other hand, polar day would be cool! Imagine an amusement park operating at 2 AM! Like, stay as long as you want when the sun is up! Imagine roller coasters in the midnight sun and going on a carousel at 2 AM when it is sunny!
There could be midnight concerts, outdoor movie screenings and themed parties during the white nights. Also, imagine if people have breakfast on a Ferris wheel at 2 AM.
The breakfast on a Ferris wheel makes me think of the lunch on Tornado at M&D's.
Because the sun is intense during the polar day, roller coasters would need tinted visors.
For water rides, Disneyland has operated Splash Mountain when the temperature was near freezing.
What would be your thoughts on the polar night/midnight sun at parks if those experiences were made eventually?
I'm willing to tolerate parks in any weather. I've ridden coasters in 0 degrees and snow before. I just dress accordingly.
Are there any LSM launches that cause a stomach dropping sensation for you? I’ve never experienced a gerstlauer launch, so I’m just wondering
No, a launch has to start from a standstill and be super powerful for me to do it.
What rides did you ride when it was 0° or snowy? I thought most coasters closed for snow due to ice.
Speaking of which, today is the coldest day of the year.
Alpine coasters and a Zierer tivoli.
Now I want to ride this even more. Are you going to review Pitt's, too? I love your reviews, man. Also, when did you visit?
I will be reviewing it (possibly next week, depends if I have an early night). I was there last week.
Bring this to Kings Island or Kings Dominion please. I will take this to replace Volcano the blast coaster over the wing coaster.
I don't know if the capacity works at Kings Island, but I'd love to see more.
The paddles are what most surprsied me... that queue is strange... and that finnish loop element is bonkers too
Both are weird. One is a good weird.
just a quick question, what's your favourite gerstlauer?
Karnan easily.
I live a 2 hour drive away from powerpark i visit it every summer such a great coaster
Sure is.
Are we gonna see a Pitts Special review soon?
Probably next week. Depends if I have any early nights.
2:16 Yeah, they added them because of the covid.
Oh ok, thanks!
I love everything else about this ride but the launch is too powerfull for me
I love the crazy launch.
@CanobieCoaster im going to the place soon and i am terrifyed of the launch. Do you have sny advice on how to get over my fear of launches
I've been looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this ride. Ever since Monster blew me away, I have been very interested in Junker. I love vertical lift hills followed by beyond vertical drops, but that launch sounds awesome. Monster rode perfectly smooth with no rattle on my 2 visits there. I was hoping that Junker was also smooth, but I know that most Gerstlauers do have at least a little rattle, just like B&M.
I don't mind it when they have lap bars. They run into trouble on the OSTR ones.
Junker looked so good from the POVs and off ride so I’m happy to hear the ride is very enjoyable and intense.
I expect that Pitt’s Special is nowhere near as good or exciting as Junker but I’m curious to hear what you think of it
Pitts Special is special.
Honestly this is the best ride in Finland, no, the best ride in the Nordic countries! It is so unbelievably forceful and I love the strong. Positive Gs and all that whip
I prefer Taiga, but Junker is excellent.
Gerstlauer always delivers with these coasters. Maybe at some point I’ll get to Finland...
Gerstlauers with lap bars are usually great at minimum.
It is weird how this and Pittbowl Special have the same color scheme. The launch and tophat look great. The finished loop around the bridge is a very satisfying visual. And the positive Gs, airtime, and inversions must also be incredible with that lap bar.
It sure is!
When did you get to go? I thought I saw someone wearing a mask, but I didn’t think they let Americans in most countries yet.
Last week. Finland started allowing fully vaccinated Americans at the end of July.
Never heard about this coaster! I love Monster, so I’m sure I’d love this!
It's Monster with a launch.
I love this review! WE NEED MORE LAUNCHED GERSTLAUERS!!!
Also, Canobie what countries have you travelled to to ride coasters?
Most countries in Europe, USA, Canada, Mexico, UAE, and Japan.
@@CanobieCoaster where do you get that kind of money?
This ride looks amazing
It is.
This coaster looks like one of gersts best! How does it compare to Karacho? And did you ride the Smiler when you visited the UK?
Karacho does not have the strongest forces (airtime, hangtime, etc.). Junker has very strong airtime and a lot of hangtime and whip. I personally just miss that with Karacho, although Karacho also has a great layout. And I think Junker also rides better, because Karacho shakes a little in the turn before the mid-course. I personally think Junker is just better in general. But I haven't ridden Smiler yet, so I can't judge that.
Junker is more intense start to finish than Karacho (though Karacho has a few elements as good as those on Junker). Smiler is fun, but I prefer the more varied ride of Junker.
Are you back from Europe? Which parks and countries did you go to?
It’s also fantastic you finally made it to Finland.
No I'm still over there. Finland, Germany, Austria, Poland, and Belgium.
Yesss you are finally going to Poland. Congrats man!
I hope you also ride Kondaa.
@@CanobieCoaster when are you coming to Belgium? ;P
