I rewatched the fight between Fallon Fox and Ashley Evan Smith just the other night, and Fox was outclassed from the start. Fallon hits hard, but Smith was the vastly superior fighter. Took Fox’s back in the first round and Smith dolled out punishment. The most notable thing Fallon did was catch an umapalata near the end of the first round, but that was it.

Personally, I don't really mind the dancing. Yes, it's disrespectful, but it's risky too. It takes place entirely within the fight, and your opponent may get an easy hit on you. Extending your hand in a gesture of sportsmanship, on the other hand makes it looks like you haven't started the fight yet. As a referee in that situation, I'd be inclined to go "You're disqualified. Get this piece of trash out of my ring."

The word 'punishment' doesn't really fit most of these situations. If it's the organization doing something about bad behavior and bad sportsmanship, that's punishment. But if it's a rat losing to a fair fighter, that isn't punishment or karma, it's just the sport. Take out the 'rat' behavior, and leave the 'punishment' and it just becomes an average fight. I also hate when people use the word 'karma' in these situations. Karma is a nebulous idea that the universe punishes bad behavior, usually in the form of some kind of bad luck. When someone deliverers retribution with their own skill and willpower, karma is not at play. They've said ''I'm not waiting on karma to help me win via some kind of bad luck for my opponent. I'm gonna shut this down, on my own terms, using my skill and willpower, right here, right now'' Don't discredit these paybacks by implying there was some higher force at work.

I'm not even going to get into the philosophical or psychological minefield that you are implying, but I would just like to point out that Fallon got their ass kicked by a cis woman. Kind of shows that chromosomes don't matter much when two opponents are of roughly equal size and physical fitness. Besides, I've known women in real life that have tried to abuse such thinking and rightly gotten knocked on their asses when they push someone too far.
What do you say of Patrico Manuel a female to male transsexual fighter?
I find transgender people in sports a pretty difficult topic. Sure, they physique gives them an unfair advantage, but if they truly identify as women, they are not in it for an easy victory. If they are forced to fight in men's MMA while they have taken all possible steps to become a woman and identify as such, doesn't that mean that their opponents may feel they are beating a woman for sport? And what would it mean for these opponents if they rejected a sanctioned match? Or for the transgender fighter if they only get to fight people who still consider them a man, which leaves them open to fights with haters, but also more vulnerable to psychological attacks.
I assume the women Fallon fought all agreed to the fight knowingly? I suppose if they did so voluntarily, that would make it okay. But yeah, there are many ways to look at this situation, and I sure do not envy the people who make the rules!
