My last visit to Munnar was about 15 years ago. There used to be 12 seater minibuses run by the tourist board that drove you all around. One of their trips was to a wildlife sanctuary. If anyone is planning a visit, seek them out.
@Robert L India traditionally had Dravidian Race which was darker in skin tone and then Aryans came and settled along Gangetic plain and they were light skinned. You will find people of the yellow race in the North Eastern Region of India but they are Indians as well. In my opinion, even the dark skinned have features which make them very beautiful but the general tone of Indian people is Wheatish. Neither light nor dark. South India has extremes of temperatures throughout the year and that also is a reason to the darker tones.

The easiest way for you to compute the auto rickshaw fare is to map your destination and find out the distance. The fair market price is about 22-25 Rs per km ( you have government prices that were set 5 or 6 years ago without adjustment for inflation every year) in a big city and probably 25-30 Rs in remote places like Munnar. Don’t rely on the government rates that were set in 2013-14 which are outdated and you can’t make a living at those prices in 2020. 25-30 Rs per km is a fair market price in a place like Munnar and you want to start at the low end so you have room to go to the high end. Yeah most of the land is owned by corporate tea estates like Tata Tea where your Tetley Tea and PGTips in UK come from the estates in Munnar.

We had to take care of them while we were travelling through out the state via a nice comfy bus that picked us up from Ernakulam station. We travelled from Ernakulam to Alleppy then to Thekkaddy and then to Munnar! I shall NEVER EVER FORGET THE DRIVE FROM THEKKADY TO MUNNAR FOR AS LONG AS I LIVE !!!! Just Beautiful. Truly God's Own Country👌👌👌

I love your travel adventure, especially your courage to eat street food and drinks. I have been to many of the places you vlog, and I am seeing it through different eyes. I got really sick from food poisoning for a few days on my last visit and don't think I will visit again after the pandemic.
I am striking Munnar town centre off my bucket list as Dale has covered it beautifully in his video. Motor bike rental is not a common thing in Kerala unless you find a place in Kochi where they rent them out. You certainly seem to have missed so many tourist spots within 15 to 20 miles radius around Munnar Town Centre. Hiring a jeep from the town centre to take you around is the best way to see these places. Views from these places are immaculate.
You wont believe this but I have been too for the past week. His no nonsense commentary is my highlight. And he does know his food, remembers the tastes and is a straight up fella. No airs and graces...just straight up honest.
I live a very hectic life style and watching you Dale gives me true inspiration that my dreams can still be fulfilled. Please keep the content coming 👍
