This whole thing you seem to have stumbled into -- the drawing of faces is what so many of us have been looking for for years. It's just so rich in information, the way you teach, the methods..... extraordinary. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
"Stumbled into," only because you began with the landscapes then seemingly threw in a quick Loomis demo.... then saw how hungry people were. Winning all the way around!
Cheers Rusty, great videos. I guess most of us struggle drawing heads/faces, hence the hit with your previous Loomis video - it was just what I was looking for, going from a blank piece of paper, the roughing out of the outline, the gradual build up of shape and tone, and of course, your excellent dialogue!
And thanks for sharing your Pininterest Portrait Reference - a brilliant resource! (And I'll try your suggestion of practice fast warm-up portrait sketches in future.)
Man, I wish you were my art professor. For figure drawing, we were given a live model and no instruction. Funny story, the class was full of guys. Most weren't art majors and dropped the class. Our first model was a middle-aged man not a cute coed. He made a very interesting subject, in my opinion. Figure drawing is challenging. It's not an easy elective. Thank you for sharing your expertise! I very much appreciate it!

Yes, the Loomis was just a last minute tutorial and it hit the mark. Who knew.
Yep, I'll keep them coming. It is a constantly good subject for practice and tutorials.
@@prof_nelson Exactly :)

Hey, I appreciate these comments. I sometimes wonder if I am being coherent when drawing and painting these pieces. Thanks for watching.

Cool, practice those warm-ups. They get your brain shifted to the right side.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and for sharing your story. You do get a full range of models in those live classes.
Great content - I think the Loomis head and hands pdf on your web site is a fraction of the actual book. The book on the body is complete though.
Yeah, I need to look for the full version. Archive.org is down at the moment. They got hacked. Thanks for watching.
