Adding a figure to scenes is definitely a goal of mine. I don’t really have problems with one figure but a grouping or multiple figures really intimidates me. It is almost like getting the perspective of multiple buildings correct.
YAY RUSTY!!! I asked for a landscape to help with perception and depth, and you delivered. I'm enjoying your videos and your artistic knowledge. I have to go practice now. ❤
This is probably a dumb question, but how do you keep your work flow going, but not dirty up your paints by mixing colors and dipping your brush in and out of different paint colors? Do you clean your brush before dipping into another color? I'm enjoying your videos!
Nope, not a dumb question. If I'm dabbing into a dense color like umbers or the blues, I don't worry about the contamination. The solution isn't dense enough to cause problems. If I'm dabbing into the lighter colors - yellows, ochres and oranges, I'll rinse the brush in the water before dabbing into them. I hope this helps.
@prof_nelson yes, that helps. I suppose I didn't think about the difference in acrylics and watercolor. It finally dawned on me that since watercolor is watery, the brushes are probably easier to clean on-the-fly. I'm used to much thicker paint with acrylics. The technique of dampening your brush on a paper towel to blend color looks like a life changer. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm anxious to try it. I'm thinking about illustrating a childrens book. As a graphic designer, my go to is digital, but now I'm thinking of watercolor as an option. Thanks for the inspiration and knowledge! You're awesome!

Groups of figures can be fun, once you get the hang of it. I'll do a group figure tutorial - coming soon. Thanks for watching.
Wow - really tricky perspective in this!!! Your finished work is gorgeous, though. I especially love your dark, watery shadows
This one was fun to paint. I need to get busy and work on more cityscapes, so the don't feel so overworked. Thanks for watching.

Have fun practicing.
Very cool!
Aww, thank you!

Lovely. We can always slow the video down and follow along. If the music isn't to our taste, we can turn the volume down!
That's true. There is always some solution to a problem. Thanks for being so tolerant.
