    Hi Leasa.
Several boatyards bought those 45' hulls and then fitted them out for their fleets, with varying interior layouts.
Good friends of mine owned Easticks of Acle, and Pink Champagne/White Champagne were their premier boats in their fleet.
We used to hire Pink Champagne when she was quite new as a floating base when racing at Wroxham week and Oulton Regatta. Great boats with huge deck space for socialising in the evening.
Great to see she is still around though looking a little tired now....probably nearly 40 years old now.
Cutting edge in its day....very angular.
Barton often gets a bit of a chop on, by the way.
All the years that I lived there, I only went up the Ant to Barton about half a dozen times....its a lovely part of the broads, particularly Irstead shoals and we used to moor at Gays Staithe to go to dinner at the Barton Angler, which was a wonderful Hotel/Restaurant. Great food and atmosphere....now sadly a private home.

How lovely you got a trip on David and Vicky’s boat. Thank you for taking us along Leesa. Lovely to see Pink Champagne again, we once joined a London pub landlord and his customers/friends on Pink Champagne, which was their hire boat for a week. It was our silver wedding anniversary and we celebrated at the Wroxham Hotel and somehow everyone joined in and we ended up having a nightcap and a coffee with them all on their boat. You are right so much room to socialise, you would never have fitted them all in on our little hire boat. 😂 We met them again on their last day at the Bridge Inn, Acle, their regular cry of “ Oy Oy” alerting us, they were trying to get back on their way to the boatyard, the tide was against them so we helped push them out. Happy memories!

Wonderful memories Hev. Thank you for sharing them.
Reedham seems such a long time ago now. Time just flies by.

@@NewnameSameme It certainly does, I remember that lovely hot day, having coffee out on the patio watching the boats. Hope to be back there April/May next year. Depends on how the new treatment goes. Our area has had a lot of flooding, we are ok but quite a journey getting back to our house from our daughters, roads were shutting behind us. I feel for the folk who had homes and businesses flooded. I saw that pub in Horning was flooded again. Just the patio this time though. Hope they can keep going and hoping Lathams can get through the winter unscathed.

      Everyone dreads the flooding.
Some boats needed water barrels yesterday, to help them under Ludham Bridge and there was slight over topping. I’ve not ventured out today as I’ve a few jobs to do at home. I’ll be back out again tomorrow though.

The Aquafibre Ideal 45 is another boat I have fond memories of with its distinctive looks. It’s a real shame this boat builder is no longer with us.

Thanks Lisa, for taking us along on this lovely boat trip with your friends, I always like to go across an open broad when the water is choppy it makes it more of an adventure. Even on the moving boat you got some great views of the boats and lovely scenery. Have a lovely weekend. Take care and all the best. Stevie

Thank you Stevie, is was certainly an adventure. It was raining for part of the trip and the spray over the front of the boat just added to it all. Great fun.
You have a lovely weekend too.

Hi Liza where were the splashes that were coming over the bows. We thought we might see you getting wet. Glad you enjoyed the trip.

Yes, I too remember the Challenger cruisers from many years ago. I didn't realise Aquafibre are no longer in business. Too many of the old boat builders/yards are no longer with us.
I too was wondering what the black tubes were for when I went passed them. There was some kind of framework on it as well.

I’m sure someone in the comments will let us all know what they are for. 😀. Hope so anyway.
