I have two of these makeup bags… one for makeup and one I use on the plane, with all the dividers, I put my charger/cable, a couple snacks, chapstick, toothpick and anything I might need, right on the tray. I like the way it opens up flat and everything is laid out for me, but still small.

I have a stick that does triple duty of blush, lip color and even (with a light hand) under eyebrow highlighter. I don't wear much make up, so just having one item that adds color helps save space. But am tempted to try the mini lip color if it stays well.
Regarding foundation, in my ongoing effort to reduce the amount of liquids I travel with, I use a foundation with sunscreen built in that comes in a compact, so it qualifies as a solid. Two good ones are Cover Girl+Olay Simply Ageless foundation (with hyaluronic complex and Vitamin C)-more of a powder-to-liquid foundation-and L’Oreal Age Perfect 4-in-1 tinted balm with firming serum (make sure to get the one with sunscreen).
This is so timely! My husband just booked us a trip to Korea. He lived there for several years before we were married. So now I have to furiously try to learn the language 😳 My favorite travel makeup is everything in stick form - even eyeshadow. It is more slim and compact, doesn’t count as a liquid, and no worries about powders crumbling. I also don’t really need brushes - another space saver. I am oily, so I will probably bring a brush on SPF face powder. I haven’t been overly thrilled with any of my makeup bags, so I’m definitely going to try that one out, as well as the compact eyelash curler. Genius! I’m going to be rewatching many of your videos for international travel tips. I told my husband I could pack in a carryon for two weeks overseas and he couldn’t believe it haha. @@TracyKMainwaring I was using bareMinerals, but they no longer make it. I also was finding that because I have a light touch with foundation. It wasn’t providing enough SPF for me so now I usually use a primer with SPF and a foundation with SPF so combined I get good coverage the ones I showed you today don’t have that, but if I’m going to use a primer, I will use super goop And mix it with the cosmetic foundation I showed you here because it also has sunscreen and then I feel like I’m getting good coverage.😊
@@TracyKMainwaring Hi, Kyda 2-pack is the best value powder that I’ve found. I like Wet’n’Wild or Maybelline Fit Me stick foundations. I’ve also used cushion foundations (doesn’t count as a liquid), but it is bulkier. Hope that helps! 😊

If I want to travel really light in a mini clutch, I take rice paper and a lip product. For makeup on the go, I love benefit bad girl bang mascara, chanel liner, chanel foundation or purlisse tinted spf, benefit brow pencil and tinted gel and dior ecrin holiday palette (eye shadow, blush, bronzer, lips included). I used to get chanel duty free palettes and they were awesome but they seem to have been discontinued. Please let me know if you ever see them again! At home I am into westman atelier stick highlighter stick blush and liquid bronzer set from Nordstrom Anniversary sale. It is amazing.For home powders i like benefit cookie/shellie/hoola for highlight blush and bronzer. If I am going to the beach i do spf, rms pop collection quad (highlight/lip/cheek/bronzer) and waterproof bad girl bang.
What I started doing was taking travel size brushes, mini mineral powder, and the MaryKay makeup sample cards! It has enough eyeshadow, blush, and lip color to use once or twice, depending on how you apply. They are no bigger than a postcard, so they take no space and no broken cosmetics in your makeup bag.
Oh my gosh, I remember the make up sample cards and I so miss those things! I wish the make up companies would do those because they great for travel and also great for sampling💕😊

Like you, I don’t wear foundation often so I normally put what foundation I have into a smaller container. I really like your CC cream and primer combo! I like getting sample sizes of the items I use - especially mascara and lipsticks - and taking those, even on longer trips! Each trip I take, I pair down and I still find I don’t need as much makeup as I thought. As far as makeup tools go, I have been building a travel kit only set so I won’t have to replace expensive brushes if I lose a bag!
Yes, it seems like every trip. I learn a little bit more about what I actually need don’t need, but it also changes sometimes for example, when I got rosacea, I had to include a few other things in my skin care routine that took up a little bit more room, however I learned to pair down in other places so I can still fit it all into my personal item and carry-on.😊
So i love the eyelash curler you showed I have eyelids that are wider. The normal ones with the handle have the bar on the side and so I can't curl all my lashes at once. So then they look funny. I got one from Sephora forever ago and they're amazing

I used to be a makeup girly but my eyes use to itcy (seasonal allergies) . So I stopped wearing for a while and haven't gone back. I like the simplicity of getting ready without it. I do like the bag and could think of a thousand ways to use it for travel..
I have problems with lipstick chapping my lips as well. I wound up going back to Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick and the chapping disappeared. I’ll be looking at the Stila Stay All Day so I can try it out. Thanks for a really useful video.
You’re the first person I’ve heard that has the same problem as me lipstick! I can’t figure out exactly what it is, but it might be the wax in it or something because I can wear lipgloss and I can wear tinted lip balm. Try out to Stella and also try out the Sephora brand lip paint! That’s another great one that stays all day and I’ve been using that one for years! I just nice gloss on top of it😊💕

I have TSA pre-check so I do not put my liquids in any special bag or have to remove it however, if I’m traveling domestically, I keep a quart size Ziploc bag with me so that I can put things in there if I feel that I possibly could get flagged for not having it in a liquid bag.. I always a quart size liquid bag when I travel out of the country. Now, when I’m traveling with that really small bag that I showed at the beginning of the video, I never put it in a liquid bag. I never do anything with it, and I have never been called on it because everything‘s in a small contact lens container and it’s just never been something that’s been a problem however, if you find that you want to be on the safe side, always put things in a clear Ziploc bag.😊

What SPF powder do you use?
I'm having a hard time finding a solid foundation that's not a powder foundation. Suggestions?

I learn a little bit more about what I actually need don’t need, but it also changes sometimes for example, when I got rosacea, I had to include a few other things in my skin care routine that took up a little bit more room, however I learned to pair down in other places so I can still fit it all into my personal item and carry-on.😊

So i love the eyelash curler you showed I have eyelids that are wider. The normal ones with the handle have the bar on the side and so I can't curl all my lashes at once. So then they look funny. I got one from Sephora forever ago and they're amazing

I used to be a makeup girly but my eyes use to itcy (seasonal allergies) . So I stopped wearing for a while and haven't gone back. I like the simplicity of getting ready without it.

I have problems with lipstick chapping my lips as well. I wound up going back to Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick and the chapping disappeared. I’ll be looking at the Stila Stay All Day so I can try it out. Thanks for a really useful video.
You’re the first person I’ve heard that has the same problem as me lipstick! I can’t figure out exactly what it is, but it might be the wax in it or something because I can wear lipgloss and I can wear tinted lip balm. Try out to Stella and also try out the Sephora brand lip paint! That’s another great one that stays all day and I’ve been using that one for years! I just nice gloss on top of it😊💕

@@IronMaiden756 yeah! The only time I ever really get chapped lips is when I’m wearing lipstick or in a really dry environment, I usually keep them pretty hydrated all year round

Should the cream foundation products be in the liquid bag? Or have you had no problems keeping them in the makeup bag?
@@jackierinker2582 that is a great question so here’s my answer. I have TSA pre-check so I do not put my liquids in any special bag or have to remove it however, if I’m traveling domestically, I keep a quart size Ziploc bag with me so that I can put things in there if I feel that I possibly could get flagged for not having it in a liquid bag.. I always a quart size liquid bag when I travel out of the country. Now, when I’m traveling with that really small bag that I showed at the beginning of the video, I never put it in a liquid bag. I never do anything with it, and I have never been called on it because everything‘s in a small contact lens container and it’s just never been something that’s been a problem however, if you find that you want to be on the safe side, always put things in a clear Ziploc bag.😊
