    Fabulous video, as always, Eunice! If any of you are traveling and want to wash dishes on the road but don’t have room for dish soap in your liquids/checked bag, try this. Before your trip buy one of those scrubby sponges. Get it wet, put dish soap on it , and lather it up then let it dry without rinsing it. When it’s dry just cut it into useable pieces and put it in a zip bag. When you need to wash a dish just wet one of the pieces. You will have a scrubby sponge with dish soap ready to go. When you’re done you can rinse and reuse it or toss it.

    Hey there, I have been following your channel for a while now. I am a dentist and I think you have a common condition called angular chelitis on the corner of your mouth. Go pick up some 1% clotrimazole cream (sold sometimes as athletes foot medication). Put it on the area several times a day and really goop it on before bed. It should clear up in a few days. Many people try to put Vaseline or antibiotic ointment on it. This will not work as it is a fungal condition. I get it every winter. Throw away any lip balm that you may have or you will reinfect yourself. You can instead cut off the top couple of millimeters of the lipstick or lip balm that might be affected. Use a q tip to apply any products until your skin clears up. Sorry to be in your business but I see this all the time and so many try to treat it incorrectly. Hope this helps! Love all your videos. You are the best!

      Thanks so much! It was a cold sore. I occasionally get these when I do a lot of flying. I’m not exactly sure why that happens but I always related to the amount of radiation exposed to an apply because I also get them whenever I have x-rays.🤷‍♀️

    I toasted bread on my tiny George Foreman grill in the hotel earlier this week to make BLT sandwiches for my kids and myself. I didn’t put anything on it, just dry toasted it on both sides. It came out great. I also took an 8” Dash griddle and made quesadillas, which was a great supper after staying in the pool late. I remember about 5 or 6 years ago when I first started bringing little appliances with me to cook in my hotels, I couldn’t find anything about it on UA-cam, but now I really enjoy seeing how you cook in your accommodations as well. Hotels usually only have a fridge and possibly a microwave, if you’re even lucky enough to have either of those. That’s just not adequate. I love eating out, but not every meal. I was so tired after swimming with the kids and the last thing I wanted to do was get dressed and go out to a restaurant. I was so grateful to have planned ahead and have a quick easy meal and a way to cook it. Plus, we ate in our jammies and then watched a little movie and went to bed happy and rested up for an adventurous day out the next day. Thanks for sharing! I love how you do this. I also have an electric pan similar to yours but it’s a simple model that only regular cooks and boils, no popcorn maker. That was really cool.

    • @TheoryofSimple
      @TheoryofSimple  3 місяці тому +4

      I haven’t bought my Dash cooker yet. I need to find more recipes for it. I agree…sometimes you just want to eat in Jammie’s and watch a movie! Nothing wrong with that😊 eating out costs so much money these days and it’s not healthy! I’ll cook in my room anytime! 💕😊

    • @TheoryofSimple
      @TheoryofSimple  2 місяці тому +1

      @@Pennypacker0602 as long as you’re not burning anything that would set the smoke detectors off you should be fine. 😊

    • @deniseyoung5385
      @deniseyoung5385 2 місяці тому +1

      @@Pennypacker0602yes! I do it all the time! I put a silicone potholder under to protect the hotel surfaces, and I also move away from the smoke detector, but also watch really carefully that nothing is burning and if I need to turn it down, I do. You just have to be careful not to burn anything because especially if you turn it on high, it will cook fast. Same with the Dash mini appliances, they can cook faster than you think, so stay with it at all times. As long as you don’t burn anything, it’s just food smells, so maybe be aware of that and don’t cook anything that is going to smell up the whole floor you’re on. Also, I buy the pre-cooked bacon. It’s easier to carry with me when I’m traveling, but also since I only have to heat it up, less chance of burning or smoking.

    Regarding hard boiled eggs, you can achieve beautiful eggs by steaming instead of boiling. If you can locate a steamer rack for your pot that will hold the eggs above a layer of water at a steaming boil, you'll be good to go.
    At home, I put 1/2-1” water in the bottom of a stock pot, bring to a steaming boil, put as many as 2 dozen eggs in the steamer basket on top, & cover with the lid. Perfect eggs are done in 4-6 minutes, depending on the start temperature of the eggs. The chef who taught me reminded me steam in a pan is always a consistent temperature so eggs become very repeatable in a commercial setting, where a water bath varies while it's coming up to temp or after adding eggs.

    Nice setup. I see you like your bacon the same way I do - not quite burnt, but almost. I also save all my bacon grease and other meat drippings for cooking. Since I never check bags, I don't travel with such an elaborate setup, but I've just finished putting together a full kitchen in a Stanley metal lunch box for road trips. For air travel, I make do with my Sea to Summit X-set lidded pot and dish/cup set, an immersion coil, and a stasher bag. One important thing I learned from you is to carry a P38 can opener with me everywhere. And a folding cutlery set - made of wheat straw, so it's not going to set of any TSA alarms. Also, a ceramic knife cannot be picked up by the security Xray machine. I'm glad of the suggestion for the sparkling water maker - thank you! I don't drink pop/soda, just wine and sparkling water (the latter I often mix with homemade shrubs), and those cans get heavy to lug home! Steak salad looks great! - Itadakimasu!

    Nice video Eunice. I would love to know your Ranch seasoning recipe. I was thinking that bacon grease would be tasty in place of the oil you used to cook your popcorn. Safe travels.

    I bring baby food pouches!!!! I'm on a low protein diet (kidney)...so I will switch to the "bites" versus my usual powdered pharmaceutical grade amino acids. Also, plan to bring Butter Buds! (Butter essence, NO FAT, mix with water!)..I use BB's on popcorn!!

    Have you done a video on how you dehydrate your fruit?

    • @TheoryofSimple
      @TheoryofSimple  3 місяці тому +2

      I haven’t done a video on that yet, but it’s so easy. I just take the fruit off of my trees and wash it and then set them on a clean white cloth to get the extra moisture off and then put them in a food dehydrator.😊 I store them in my bags with an oxygen absorber💕

    My buttermilk powder says it needs to be refrigerated. Would that be true for the homemade ranch seasoning?

    • @TheoryofSimple
      @TheoryofSimple  3 місяці тому +1

      If your butter powder says it needs to be refrigerated and you’re using it in the mix, then I would say yes it needs to be refrigerated. The one I’m linking to in the video description does not need to be refrigerated.

    If flying, do you put your Tabasco in your liquid bag?

    • @TheoryofSimple
      @TheoryofSimple  3 місяці тому

      If I’m flying anywhere except the United States, it will go to liquid bag. Because I have TSA pre-check I do not need to keep it in a liquid bag or show it or take it out when I go through TSA security.
