This was unreal!!! Never been the same after this work out. It set the bar for me and I’ve not gone back!! Always pushing intensity with proper load!!!
I absolutely love the app! Can I suggest that in the next version the addition of Dr. Mike audio saying things like “As if one more…” “Slow… Slow…” “Pause…” as well as some random expletives and taunting
And it’s crazy that some people have called him racist, but the man is Jewish and is married to an Asian woman, so yeah…… I’m Jewish but cuz I have a German mother ive been called a racist as well 😂 cracks me up the crap people think and make up! We’re all human beings and Gods children.
@@davidtopoleski5935anybody can be racist. Tf kind of logic is that? Racism comes in all forms. Ofc I’m not saying he is (or isn’t, for that matter), just disagreeing with that ridiculous argument
I just did my first workout this morning from the RP Hypertrophy App, after 2 week's rest due to going away then illness. I'm taking tips from this video for the first leg day of the week on Wednesday. Hopefully this 6 week mesocycle will give me the results I've been looking for after years of slow progress.
I have never used the app but following RP for roughly 2 years has put on well over 10kg of lean mass(natural) from my hogwash workouts I was doing before
There's definitely no way it will give you better results in 6 weeks than you got in years before, but if you keep at it, after a few months you might start to see some bigger changes. Best wishes to you! - Dr. Mike
You have to wonder what the guy next to them doing half-reps was thinking, for me there's no way I could be next to that group and not immediately start pushing myself to be as hardcore as they are (and likely injure myself in the process, I'm not exactly qualified to work out with an IFBB pro 😖)
14:18 when I'm exhausted & ready to stop to move to a new position but then she says "right there" I always find the power to keep going so maybe you're onto something with that analogy
😂, watch Lee how he cheated and Mike had to keep telling him to stop because he kept on resting his hamstring on his calf muscles. 😂. Redact that stupid comment and watch the video
I'm on week 3 in the app and my goodness this is really intense. Everyone online is arguing over volume vs intensity, meanwhile this app makes you do both. Scheduled to do 8 sets of biceps on friday and I'm legit terrified.
I used to train with this Caribbean guy named Sean. He would do all this crazy weight to failure and never hyped himself up, never grunted, never screamed, or complained, or ANYTHING. I always thought he was not human. Tristyn reminds me of that guy.
i love it! Jonni is busting his blurter and leaving his soul on that machine, some random guy on the press behind him is just doing like have reps chillin like he is walking in the park
Mike just needs to start designing training equipment for max hypertrophy and ROM! He seems really into the mechanical design of these machines and has a lot of good ideas.
Love how everytime Jonni is on camera it's like "This is about getting gains and fitness" then Dr. Mike jumps in like "This is about race!... Also we have a workout I guess" 😂
Best part of the video Is you get the right way, and wrong way simoultaneously. Whilst doing leg press's, the guy un the back perfectly demostrates how not yo do em. Beauty
The Life Fitness lying leg curl is the best one hands down! The strength curve is perfect too, more difficult at the bottom as opposed to most machines being evenly distributed throughout.
@Meduros The app algorithms work 100% irrespective of failure proximity. In fact, most of them would work better if we could just tell everyone to train to failure. - Dr. Mike
I don't typically review new research as taking all of the research (new and old) into account is usually superior. I will say this: training closer to failure in any given session is superior but you should keep fatigue in mind and start most mesos at around 3 RIR, possibly 2 RIR if you're more advanced. - Dr. Mike
Got one of those hammy machines at my gym. I never put the pad quite so low to where it's pushing my knees into hyperextension, but right on the edge. It's the only lying hamstring machine I've ever used, good to see Dr. Mike approves. I don't like the seated ones. Feels weird on my knees when my hips are hinged.
Can someone elaborate a little more on how they did their leg press sets. From my understanding: First set, up to failure Second, third, and fourth sets are myoreps. Myoreps to my understanding is going up to failure again, pause, continue to get any reps from 5-10, and repeat until only able to complete a minimum of two, correct? In advance, thank you for helping me understand.
I'm quite new to the gym, all the tutorials say that we shouldn't lock knees, I watched enough Dr Mike to know he knows what's up but I'm curious about this why here it's fine, it even looks lil scary when they lock
question: If a joint is the limiting factor of the range of motion. Like with the leg curl your knee stops your ankles from going further down. Then does the weighted stretch really target the muscle and not the join? At the ultimate bottom ofcourse
Want to ask is it safe for the spine disc to do the leg press this way as I can see you guys are pressing when the pelvic is posterior tilting. It's not an ideal posture for the spine according to what I've learned.
The trick with placing the foam pad under the lower back is great. However my limiting factor seems to be that if I bring my legs through the full range of motion like these guys were I seem to have a lot of tension/pain in my lower back. Any recommendations for that?
The best leg gains ive ever had was the summer I worked on a crew that build boulderwalls in landscapes. I could find jeans that fit because flex denim wasnt a thing yet.
The lying leg curl is an exercise i have to thank. That exercise got me to stop making excuses and actually muster up the courage to ask out my high school girlfriend... ...i mean, she was the one doing it, but whatever.
Always happy to learn! Y’all are the best!!
Tristyn, just out of curiosity, how sore were you for the following days? Cause goddamn you two absolutely killed it.
This is the collab I actually wanted to see!
It was great to have you on! - Dr. Mike

99% of RP workouts.
"Slow... slow... SLOW! Now stop and pause... as if another!" 😂
Johnni: “Im so glad i took a shit before this”

At minute 15 you Can see in the back the range of motion from the guys at the other leg press machine. The difference in ROM is hilarious.
Definitely not as big. Could be working around an injury or knee issues, who knows
Took Mike's advice too literally, made love to the leg press and that's why I'm no longer welcome at my gym
Jonni not getting up after 1 isometric bw squat really shows how hard he pushes on the leg press. That's eye opening actually.
I saw gonna say this.
also bigger muscles fatigue more and quicker, with more lactic acid build-up, and it hurts more vs a smaller muscle.
Pretty sure he did more than one squat

"No matter how good you are at something, there is an Asian kid who does it better" in action and Jonni's face shows it
I know it is a joke but only an idiot would have expected a dude that weighs like 3 times more than the Asian guy to win that.
