Great video! Don’t forget to do a soil test in the fall as well. You may need to add Soil Amendments & Humates. This will keep the root development strong through the winter months and the green up next spring.

Soil test is a always a good idea. I generally do 1 to 2 year on my front and back. I just haven’t done videos on them because there are a lot of videos online already for soil testing. Appreciate the support and the feedback.

Dwayne: "Do the Dew" Sinatra: "Doo-bee-doo-bee-doo"
Nice timely video Dwayne. I like to alternate my fungicide apps to try to prevent immune fungi in my yard. Our lows are suddenly in the 50's so time for the fungicide. I already have the pre-emerge down, These cooler temps have re-vitalized a few nut-sedges that I need to take care of. Do you have those sedges on the west coast? Can't wait for the overseeding project. I'm hoping to see some deep greens in your backyard around Thanksgiving!

Lol. Do the dew is the only way to do it. We do have sedges but i am very fortunately that i only have a couple of small area. Preemergent don’t really work on sedges and you generally need to kill it off. Image works but takes a long time (2-3 weeks). I like certainty but you can also use sedgehammer. Sedgehammer is a good choice if you overseed as it won’t harm cool season grass like certainty will. Appreciate the support !!! 👍🏻

I have been watching your videos on the cal trimmer and have learn a lot of good info from you. I can purchase the RL207H with the GX 120 or the GX 160 for the same price locally. Which one would you recommend?

There are advantages to each. I personally really like the Gx120. It’s much quieter and love the sound of the motor. The gx160 is also a great choice and may do a better powering through a scalp. Not that the 120 isn’t good for a scalp but the extra power helps. Cal trimmer started using the 160 due to the shortage of the 120 and the price was the same so they felt it a great option. Can’t go wrong with either one.

How about pre germinate your cool season grass will that help?

You can do that but perennial rye germinates fairly quickly compared to a lot of other cool season turf. KBG or fescue having longer germination windows i would be better candidates in my opinion. Thank you for the comment and support !!!

Which is better liquid or granulated for pets I have a new cavapooh and don’t want to put her in jeopardy of getting I’ll?

If you want the safest thing it would be a granular organic fertilizer. On any synthetics or liquid which in most cases have synthetics in it, you will want to wait for the product to dry and or water in a dry depending on what you are using. Once dried if normally safe for pets to re-enter the area. In all cases you would want to be sure to read the label as normally instruction are provided to when it’s safe for children or pets to renter the lawn. Hope this helps. Thank you for the question 👍🏻
