  • As the Industrial Age grinds to a halt, the “Robotic Age” is picking up speed. In the next few decades we’ll see the acceleration of man-machine collaboration, with computers becoming more human and humans becoming more creative. Where will that leave us? Scrambling to stay ahead of the Robot Curve-a cycle of creative destruction that puts downward pressure on the cost and value of work. Today’s industries no longer need their workers to be robots. They have robots.
The good news is that the Robot Curve can work to our advantage. Those who master five “metaskills”-the deep-level talents of feeling, seeing, dreaming, making, and learning-can rise to the top of the curve, where they’ll enjoy a high degree of creativity, fulfillment, and influence.
In this fascinating talk, author Marty Neumeier will take you through the skills you’ll need to swim against the tides of extreme change. By the end you’ll have a clear view of how your special talents can matter in a time of exciting new possibilities.
    What you’ll learn:
how the Robotic Age is transforming the marketplace
how to ride the Robot Curve to greatness
the five metaskills we’ll need for creative and business success
the number-one secret of post-industrial genius

Is there anywhere to see the slides he's using for this presentation? A bit of a shame that he references charts that aren't displayed in the video. Otherwise great talk.

When he says we all have different ways of learning, how are we different and how do we know this is true?

Sensacional! A confluência do que sabemos, o que nos deixa feliz associado ao estado de flow é muito próximo do que o Senge e Otto Sharmer chamam de presença. Neste estado, em busca de novas respostas encontra-se a inovação. Bàrbaro!

Holy shit. You actually get paid for this? Hey Marty, you can have this one. I just made it up for you:
One day, when I was a young boy. I went to the shop, but it was closed.
The lesson I learnt that day has stayed with me until this day.
I call it the shops are closed curve.
In the future shops may or may not open as they do today.
But one thing is sure. Shops will always reach their customers if their doors are open.
Fair play to you for getting away with such crap for so long...

Let me know when you write your first book or you get invited to a conference to talk about something. Really.

Yep, Corona is here and a lot of shops haven’t heard you before. Now they are forced to reach, and by so they have to change all the company structure. If they had done it before like some unicorn startups, they might have survived. And guess what? People pay for you to see and bring the future in advance. Look how much headache and money you’d saved from the company. But for you it is crap.

Persuasion isn't hard, nor is making metaphors and parables. The skill comes in using them to explain or sell, instead of to say gibberish.
