Even if Mo isn't as fast as prime Bekele or Kipchoge in their respective distances, there's no denying that he is extremely talented and a prime Mo Farah would be a real threat to both a prime Bekele and Kipchoge in everything from 5000 meters to half marathon. His kick and personal bests are better than many people who have beaten Bekele between 2003 and 2009.

That's why running is very tactical at such a high level. Also, keep in mind this is not Bekele of 2004 and 2005 who crashed the world records, this is a Bekele who suffered from injuries a lot and lost his fiance which broke him mentally. He lost the 2012 Olympic 10 000m race against Mo Farah who outpaced him with this famous last kick sprint. So Bekele was fully aware of that, that's why he took a huge lead early to tire Mo Farah so he wouldn't be able to use his last kick finish efficiently. y Yet we saw how Farah closed the gap with his sprint finish and was a second behind, so imagine if the gap wasn't that huge and Bekele didn't raise the pace early to tire Farah.
