What I love about sports is that it's a friendly type of war. Everyone's happy and no one gets killed.

Wow, imagine Edris pulling Farah up and consoling him. What a sportsman. Mo should have congratulated him, not the other way around.
Just goes to show how incredible Edris is, pure class.
But Mo was completely spent and had to lie down on the track... he wasn’t able to get up yet at that moment; however, what Edris did was really wonderful and displayed sincere respect and outstanding sportsmanship.
Mo always looking for attention
Really he can't be disappointed

Edris did the same magic again in Doha in 2019. Unbelievable how he pulls out such a powerful sprint gear at the end of a 5K. He totally beat Mo at his own game.
But I don’t think so next year

@@06000514 I watched this a few times too but never noticed it until now lmao. I saw Barega look like he was about to trip and i skipped back and saw that Mo pushed him.
Krypto I came back to this video, as I was telling my co workers today, that Kenyans and Ethiopians run the distance with Tactics. E.g they will build a barrier to block the opponent from getting pass or one running will sacrifice winning to let his fellow countrymen win. No crab in a barrel mentally when they running. Lovely to watch.
@@06000514 Yea I think long distance running is an underrated sport. I know it's just people running if you see them in the Olympics but like there's more to it then just that. You have to do things throughout the race and hope for the best. It's entertaining to watch for sure if you understand how racing works like in this video.

What is the name of this commentator ? He makes the race very interesting. Powerful East Africans are always a joy to watch in long distance race.
I think the commentators were Steve Cram & Brendan Foster.
Thank you for the name, Lorraine. I was precisely talking about Steve Cram. He has a way of blending words together to make introduction of athletes interesting and most especially, the race itself.

I went to Ethiopia at this time, and landed there like 1 hour before this exact run. By the time I grubbed my baggage and went out to Addis, the whole town was quite. Everyone staring their eyes to the TV watching this run. It was so epic because people in Ethiopia was tired of Mo getting 3 wins against the Ethiopians since 2012. That’s why Edris mad fun of Mo by making the M sign Mo makes after winning.
Was he making fun of him?
He did not mock, he paid him his respect. greatness recognize greatness! Athletes have strong respects for each other regardless of their country. We Somalilanders love our Brothers so no hate man only love.

Who are u?
idiris is one of the best runners of the world.
Kejelcha is my favorite athlete and I am looking for a win at a world championship, it was so touching to see him sacrifice himself for a wonderful team tactic.
I thought same too, very selfless, that was such a great tactic from him.
Yes, Kejelcha was the key. But we always put our flag first.
If we Ethiopians are united and work as a team, no one will defeat us.
" No faster than a jog"
Opening 800: 2:12
It actually is a jog for them. Farah in his Pb of 12:53 for the 5000 m keeps a pace of 2:31 per km. And that's only the 35th best all time.
T
@@getnetbirhany3306 T?
2:12 opening 800 is very slow..around 2:00 is about the right pace for world class athletes.
@@timn4481 Dude plz find and show some video where someone starts out with a 2:00 first 800 m. I agree with the fact that their final times are around that pace but the opening 800 m is almost never that fast. People start out and then slowly build up pace. Flat 2:00 for the first 800 m of a 5000m is ridiculous.

One of the best team tactics i have seen. Credit to the Ethiopians. It reminds of the Tactics Eritreans employed against Bekele in the world cross country championships in Mombasa in 2007. Study your opponent and get a plan for it.
Can you please elaborate what tactics they used?
@@abhishekab1 the Ethiopians made it hard for Mo to kick early on. Usually, Mo likes to be in the lead 1000 meters to go.
Watch when the final 800 bell was run, the lead Ethiopian glanced over his right shoulder to ensure that Eedris was at that point. After that, both led the pace till the final 100 meters...at this point, Mo had to kick early to even stand a chance.. notice Eedris actually accerlerated the last 20 meters after Ko had gassed out
