I've seen this video dozens of times now, and yet I still get excited watching the men's finish, as if somehow it will end up differently. This has to be one of the most exciting finishes of any road race; it's a shame this race isn't getting more recognition.
Most likely you were watching a different race. Mo give himself too much to do but it was perhaps one of his better races to have almost reeled in the Boss!
I love the fact that this era we are living in offers us the opportunity to watch the very best in the world perform at top level. These athletes/human beings motivates me like nothing else. Thank you youtube and technology.
Truly amazing race...the grit from Farah not giving up, and the amazing relaxed speed of Bekele, smiling to himself while he crushes the last mile...this is the best road racing has to offer.
@@ericmaldonado-avendano705 I wouldn’t say top two. Farah was a double Olympic champion but only had I believe 2 world records. Haile Would have had a field day with him in his prime. 27 world records. Just saying that yeah Mo-farah is definitely one of the fastest but because someone recently broke the 5k time and 10k track world records. Farahs 5k is ranked 41th place. While Bekele is 2nd and Haile is 3rd place. Mo-Farah 10k time is ranked 18th place. While Bekele is 2nd and Haile is 3rd fastest of all time. Mo-Farah is a top of all time but I definitely wouldn’t classify him top 5.
I came back to watch this again after i heard Kenenisa Bekele is running in the 2019 Berlin Marathon! Amazing, I didn't think he would still be competing after all the injuries.
Good run down by Mo but you could tell at the end that Bekele was actually just relaxing until he saw that he had to run harder and he just started smiling because he knew he could just take off whenever he wanted. He is the king. Mo had a great track career but he will never be as great as Bekele. And Haile put in a good run for being so much older than these guys. What a field. And the women's race had Defar and Dibaba behind Jeptoo. Pretty start studded event.
In order to win marathon i have to stop watching these videos...but these are motivation for me...i shall waste my 10min on every day....we need motivation too!
I am so proud of the 2 of my heroes....Big respect to Haile he was old that time and always love kenenisa Bekele just who is created to be the king of long distance running
3 years ago bekele demolished all competition in everything, so bekele. he's slowly beginning to return to form after 2 years of on and off injuries, and when he's on top form he's untouchable.
the handing over of the old man to his young Ethiopian compatriot ... the attack on Bekele at just the right time ... the rain ... hunting down to the line ... this race is legendary ..
A team effort - Haile takes the sting out of Farah with a 4.21 mile while Bekele rests for 30min. Then Bekele breaks on a downhill where he excels - no braking in his style. As Bekele surges, Haile slows Mo and then steps aside to remove wind shelter for Farah. In the last 400, Bekele just accelerates to the same pace and as Farah gets to his shoulder, he kicks again for a comfortable perfect win. Mo's close on Kenenisa is amazing, but the true test is the World XC, Bekele 5 x in a row, Mo = 0
amazing how they sprinted so hard but recovered instantly today 26 sept 2016 kb WON BERLIN marathon 3 seconds off wr 2:03:03 to become the third-fastest of all time over 26.2.

Christian Arguello I agree
Same here!
Una pena que no encuentro la narración en español
Me too, I'm back watching it another time.
Kenenisa Bekele: the agility , the strength the speed and the form. He's got it all!
kenenisa was laughing while mo was busting a gut trying to catch him lol.
Yared Mamo Lolo! I LOVE IT,LOLOLOLOLO
Looks like he waited until the last moment!
Most likely you were watching a different race. Mo give himself too much to do but it was perhaps one of his better races to have almost reeled in the Boss!
I never thought i'd see someone so comfortable in a marathon until I saw Bekele. 😂
@@SalahEd25 uhmm it was just a half marathon
Bekele's form is just beautiful
Sam Goodwin his stride is the most insane I've seen. Just looks like a machine
its the up and down method
El GRAN" KENENISA BEKELE "" un MONSTRUO DEL ATLETISMO MUNDIAL" EL NUMBER 1""
Right I want his form bad

I like mo farah but Kenanisa Bekele is the strongest and fastest distance runner of all time. just one word for him.he's THE "PHENOMENAL"
@Alex Johnson I'd say they are both arguably the top 2 well rounded distance runners that have ever walked this planet.
He was" now it eliud kipchoge who broke marathon record jn sub 2 hrs...that is 01:059:40...
@@ericmaldonado-avendano705 the top 2 are easily in this race... but its Bekele and Gebrselassie
Top 5

Im not even a running fan, I'm a football fan but this gave me goosebumps 🥶🙏👍🙌🏽
Still got chills down the spine when I see this. Always will....
Mo is eyeballs out and Bekele is just smiling. Holy hell!!
both bekele and farah were inspired by Haile.

Bekele is back...and always the best...Yeah ! :)

I just can’t get enough of this video

Jay B same
And he smashed it!
If Kenenisa was this healthy in 2012
Mo wouldn't have won the double in London olympics
and became the second fastest man in the marathon
2024 and he just ran 2:04 marathon
Mo at his absolute peak while Bekele was probably 5 years past his prime. Bekele still too good.
If Kenenisa was this healthy in 2012
Mo wouldn't have won the double in London olympics
5 years past his prime?! He ran 2019 the Berlin Marathon in 2:01h!!
This video inspires me to run. Thank you. Bekele is very genuis athlet
I'm most impressed by the incredible sportsmanship of all three of them. You can see the deep respect and appreciation they have for each other.
Still the most exciting end of a race--especially a half-marathon--that I've seen in years. Bravo!
Bekele form is just love ❤❤.. The greatest distance runner 🐎
I like how he smiles when he knows he's gonna win. Farah just busts his guts out and makes facial expressions lol
astrea00 hahaha for real, then Bekele slow down at the end , giving Mo some hope of catching him, then he dusted Mo again.
Exactly farha smile when they finish it was fake smile
Old man Haile still keeping up whit the new generations. 3 years ago who would it win...
Three amazing distance runner legands.❤❤❤❤❤❤

What a pleasure to see all this legends in one race
Only few people will know how incredible and unbelievable a 60minute half marathon is
11:17 Bekele slows down & teases Mo.
11:37 Bekele goes to 2nd gear & blasts Mo, leaving him in 2nd place.
still amazing to watch in 2022!
Did yall see the way bekele tricked haile and mo!?? This guy is the greatest and genius, he dropped the pace down the hill without mo realizing it!
Easily my all time favorite race!
One of the greatest contest by the greatest distance runners. Amazing!
Awesome race. Hope Mo & Kenenisa will have epic battles for years to come. Mo definitely got the kick. Truly inspiring stuff!
The amazing thing I think is when they finish they barley look tired
***** Cause they eat barley
***** No darling, we Ethiopian eat Teff.
***** yeah, they're tired. it's an all-out race. but they're used to constant pushing
You don't get tired running, only in the warm up. People that get tired and out of breath don't know how to run.
Nuno teach me
i've watched this 3 times...
I've watched this 100s of times.
Nate Silvers It's a great race - brilliant display of human effort
It sure is and it's even more appreciable when you try and run at their pace and realise it's a slowed down sprint for 13 miles.
I've watched this 300 times
Don't forget this legend at top level K. Bekele GOD BLESS ETHIOPIA
In order to win marathon i have to stop watching these videos...but these are motivation for me...i shall waste my 10min on every day....we need motivation too!
Both Bekelle and Mo are great athletes...and Mo was amazing at the end...
何度見ても痺れるわ。最高
Also I love the sportsmanship and smiles they have at the end 🙌🏽
Mo Farah should've listened to Haile’s advice.
I am so proud of the 2 of my heroes....Big respect to Haile he was old that time and always love kenenisa Bekele just who is created to be the king of long distance running
I like Knanissa long life to you bro...

Gotta love the effort by Mo. This man doesn’t give up that’s for sure.
Great finish by Mo! Not often you see Bekele having to dig deep to hold off a challenge! Fantastic race!
haile, you beautiful man.
Wow, what a race - unbelievable. My top three runners in the same race.
Road running at its very best and a rarely seen presence of some of the best runners ever!

Jermia Negoli it’s because Mo is English
the handing over of the old man to his young Ethiopian compatriot ... the attack on Bekele at just the right time ... the rain ... hunting down to the line ... this race is legendary ..
Awesome! fantastic!
If Bekele is still in the marathon game next year, we'll have more duels to come between him and Mo 😉
I want to See 2020 greatnorth bekele vs mo coming soon!!!!
Kenenisa fresh as a flower at the end 😁

You live in Ethiopia?
Bekele used tactics in this race, letting use his energy to try to close the gap then sprint when Mo is tired
Haile... O maior de todos...
What a finish!
best run ever!
The best posibility comeback 🔥💪🏆

13:15? The brit flag on Jeptoo's name?
And i doubt it was a computer glitch
Yeah, I mean how on earth does that happen?!?!
Fara h very good sprinter last 400m and he was very fast but Bekele is BEST;)
wowww yene jegna
Unforgotten race forever,Haile is the King of the Marathon!!!
If only Kenenisa was this healthy back in London 2012 olympics. Mo wouldn't have stood a chance
