thank you for he video. what i see is when i share the screen via sharing, the desktop is a copy of the original or another desktop, i can not see the original desktop. Is that right?
You should be seeing the same desktop that the currently logged in user is seeing (at least, that's what I'm seeing, unless something has changed since yesterday).
Copying text remotely transfers miniscule amounts of data. I wonder whether other larger file types will be behind a pay wall, because of greater server bandwidth usage
@WagnersTechTalk I am, after I signed in on the pi it showed on their website, but it only allows me to delete or change its name. No connect button appeared for whatever reason. I'm on raspberry pi bookworm if that matters
My understanding is that this is meant for PiOS. You could use Ubuntu to connect to another Pi using a browser as long as the other Pi is running Pi Desktop.
@@WagnersTechTalk thanks for the answer, ill stick with piOS then, i need to use winbox for my Mikrotik and use remote acces, i guess i can emulate winbox for Windows while on piOS.
The manufacturer/seller should have documentation for it or search YT for videos based on the model. Most are likely going to use the display/camera cable and a few standoffs but software drivers may also be needed.
@@WagnersTechTalk Two ways you can try. On the Q3 itself or in a browser in Windows while you are using Windows with something like Virtual Desktop. You can have two virtual screens on my Q3. One for Windows and the other of my Raspberry in a Browser
The use of a web browser is essential for setting up Raspberry Pi Connect. But on the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 it is not recommended to start the installed web browsers Chromium or Firefox. I have tried, but without success. What should I do?
A Pi4/Pi5 is ideal for Pi Connect. If you only need SSH access, you might be able to use the Lite version: www.raspberrypi.com/documentation/services/connect.html#connect-lite but it's not something I've tested with a Pi Zero 2.
Something must have disabled it. You can re-enable it in Preferences --> Raspberry Pi Configuration. Then select the Interfaces tab and click the Raspberry Pi Connect toggle.
It employs 2FA and from the raspberry pi foundation, they state: "a secure and easy-to-use way to access your Raspberry Pi remotely, from anywhere on the planet, using just a web browser." ( www.raspberrypi.com/news/raspberry-pi-connect/ ). If you have a source to backup your statement, please share it.
Nice tutorial! Easy to follow and get started. It works well and will be useful.
Thank you John!
Thank you for this tutorial! I did not know the Pi had remote access.
Very welcome, thank you for watching!
Just configured Raspberry Pi Connect on a Pi5 that controls my CNC using gSender. So far this remote solution has been working great! 👍
Awesome, thank you for sharing how you're using it! I've used it a few times today myself, it works really well here too.
Good stuff, brother.
Thank you my friend!
Great video! Keep them coming.
Thanks! Will do!
Great tutorial, thanks!

thanks!
Very nice & comprehensive explanation. Thank you.
Do you have an idea on whether multiple users can remotely connect to a single Pi using Pi Connect?
Thank you, I've only tried one connection at a time.
They've just announced that feature for a monthly fee of $0.50
we should get an app
thank you for he video.

I've not yet heard of any plans for file transfer capability. However, you may find this thread helpful: forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=372082
What type of paid for features do you think will eventually go on top of it? Will they be popular for individuals and industrial customers?
I honestly don't know at this point, we'll have to see what they come up with.
Using a RP5 and followed the steps but no connect button appears next to my newly added Pi device on the connect website.
Make sure you're signed in on the Pi5 (icon in the upper-right), then refresh the page on the remote machine and you should see it.

Could you please confirm whether after reboot will it auto login without any human need? If not, how can i fo that?
Yes it will auto-login.
@WagnersTechTalk Thank you!
I use pi5 and bookworm. Screen sharing is not available for me. Only the remote shell is available. Why?
Make sure you have applied all the updates: sudo apt update --> sudo apt upgrade. You should see both if you're running PiOS Desktop.
@@WagnersTechTalk this is done. I will try to wipe and reinstall the system from start. Will let you know
It worked out reinstalling the OS 😊
Is it possible to be sign in all the time?
Once logged in, it should remain that way until signed out.

How do you install 5" screen on raspberry pi 5

My Quest 3 is my favourite way to access my Raspberry Pi
Oh wow, I hadn't thought about using the Quest! Great 💡

I use tightvnc but will look into it
I'm really loving it, very easy to setup and use across multiple Pi's. But, I haven't used tightvnc myself.
they should allow users to share links to pi using rapberry connect (not copy/paste)
What did you have in mind? Links can be shared via the clipboard between the host and guest.
@@WagnersTechTalk something like windows/phone
