New Florida scholarships available to homeschoolers

- This is an introduction to the FTC (Florida Tax Credit) scholarship and the FES-EO (Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options). The PEP Personalized Education Plan will be available with funding through AAA Scholarship Foundation and Step Up for Students.
Who is it suited for? What do I need to know?

Once you applied for the PEP program they do send you an email to complete the form and that gets submitted to step up. Is there a link to find out if they received your app. or check status if approved? I contacted step up but they don't have any info as of yet. So just curious to know if there is something else
Hi, thanks for details. Can we apply for both AAA and step up for students at the same time for scholarship? Since we don’t know which one will get selected, and if we can apply for both and both are approved what will happen in that scenario? Please provide some guidance around that. Thanks
Im so confused people pointed me to this saying my son could get a computer with it then i set it all up.. and now i find out he cant and still needs one? I wonder if it could get approved on a case by case basis... we already unenrolled from the online public which would have issues a loaner... now im super frustrated.

We use Abeka for our homeschooling. HOw with this scholarship program affect this?

I don’t see Monarch on the above listed programs but there have been and will continue to be changes regarding how the funding can be spent. I suggest asking about Monarch at the support link. Some funding directly pays for services, others are things you can be reimbursed for. This may be one of those cases.

Hello! Thank you for the helpful video. How does access to the funds work? Do you submit receipts, credit card statements, etc and get reimbursed or do you have a debit card and submit receipts at the end of the year? Thanks so much for your time

PEP students CAN be dual enrolled students without using PEP funding for their dual enrollment. This was a change and these new scholarships will continue to change until December 2023.
If I enrolled my kids in an homeschool/unschooler private school and I already got approved for the unique abilities scholarship do I need to unenroll and go into the PEP program?

General parent info for FTC scholarship
I have a certified teacher friend that is starting a homeschool pod. She is only taking 12 kids k-8. She is charging for her services and would love to have my kids be a part of it and she would love my kids to be a part of it too. Right now she is working on her non profit status. If she becomes a non profit as a home school pod will PEP funds cover? If she decides not to become a non profit and just pay for her services directly, would PEP cover it?
Trying to figure out my options with possibitlies. I saw in the UA handbook you can’t pay a person directly for services or services provided at a residence. The Pod I am looking to join is on her personal property and she has a building on her property dedicated for schooling
I’m not sure about this. Here is a link where you can ask that directly to the funding organization. They are the ones that will determine the specifics.

One or the other, not both.

It cannot be combined. You can apply for one or the other, but a sibling can apply for this if there is a sibling.

How do I find a choice navigator?
There will be lists available through the funding organizations when they have them ready. I will be registering as a choice navigator as well.

I might have chosen the PEP option this year, but I was unclear as to how the funds could be used and so I just went with what I know which is putting them back in the same school that they were in. But we definitely want to consider going back to homeschooling after this year as a their school moved too far from our house for us to continue long-term.

List of acceptable norm-referenced testing
I’m confused a bit we do end of the year assessment with a teacher through the school but we didn’t receive a test she assessed him verbally as he’s on 2nd grade. But nothing with scores so how do I go about getting him tested
