Because of all of these videos online, I was able to notice and pick up a salmon one of these for $200 at a thrift store. A real "UA-cam is your friend" moment.
More of these type of dials should be made. Id love a watch like this, just not from tissot. Even though its a very nice watch. Id like it from orient star. A watch is for the time. Too many watches with busy dials an extras. This is more of a vintage design. Even though it is not. Tissot did a good job on this watch. An beautiful crown. This is a perfect everyday watch. ORIENT STAR please make a watch like this!.
I just found out that WE westerners call Arabic numerals that b/c Arabs introduced us to them, but they are really Hindu-numerals as Arabs took them from India.
@ClickSpringReview it's just being an all dial watch on a smaller wrist it looks way too big, I've a 1967 tissot seastar 35mm and it looks more proportionate too me at least. Nice review by the way.
The view of the dial at 1:54 is much better than the pictures they have on their website. It looks very plain there, but close up we see the numerals are slightly raised, there are grooves running around the outer railroad track, and the main part has a shimmer to it. It's a very simple watch, but definitely not plain.
I often find many of the brands photos never look that great, I always take out door shots as I feel you get to see the watch in the best light that way
What a brilliant little watch. Tissot reading the market and delivering 👏 If I was being picky, a screw down crown to give it 100m wr? A few more colour options, off white/champagne/cream with black numerals?
I'm a fan of simple 3-handers like this. Personally I'd be happier with a manual-wind Sellita, although the ETA 2824 is a good movement (just avoid/minimize hand-winding). Very cool watch!
@@ClickSpringReview yes, I think we're unlikely to run into problems if we follow that rule. It's a good rule for automatics in general, even though some tolerate hand winding better. Aggressive winding when you're already at 60+% reserve isn't too good on the 2824 (or any of its clones to my knowledge).
That is true, it used to be the crown wheel would strip its teeth but you also reserver wheels start to go, this can be seen when as you wind it the rotor spins. This is down to a lack of lubrication or incorrect lubricant. Lack of means a full service incorrect oil you can get away with an auto module service
@@ClickSpringReview As I've heard it, the ratchet wheel teeth tend to get sheared off under habitual aggressive hand-winding. For helicoptering of the rotor while hand winding, yes you can clean & re-lubricate the reversing wheels, or (as often happens afaik) just buy new reversing wheels that'll come pre-lubricated. To lubricate those wheels without the ideal lubricant, you can mix a few drops of 9010 in a small container of IPA (big enough to contain a reversing wheel), and swish each reversing wheel around in that solution. The IPA will evaporate and you should be left with a thin film of 9010 uniformly applied to the parts (clean it off the outside where it won't help).
Never tried that one but sounds interesting I always use Lubeta V105 but as you say new ones don't cost to much. but with serving them day in day out the Lubeta works out cheaper :)
Thats sounds like a ETA 2895 Ive serviced one of them and they had tiny little magnets mounted in the main plate, very cool but a pain to work round, Its on the channels Facebook page somewhere facebook.com/profile.php?id=100089483695356
There was a Tissot Heritage With a Unitas 6498 manual pocket watch movement in it a while ago I have it in my collection! It seems like it's still available! It's hard to tell with ten year old posts all over the Internet I am glad to see that Tissot is correcting The Powermatic mis step with the 1938 Chronometre
No ! This Tissot looks like an exact but larger version of the of the 1938. Chronometre but with a full flat see thru back and a Unitas 6498 manual movement!
I bought 2 tissot watches … the blue gentleman and le locle open heart (white dial, brown leather strap)…. Now this watch, i want it !!! But my collection would have 3 tissot, that seems excessive … but damn, i want this watch its so nice and affordable
It is very difficult to find a fault here. Some may say it’s a bit bland but really for that price point I think it’s a wonderful timepiece. Thanks for reviewing
A very cool looking watch. Hi have a 1940s 'Bernex' brand vintage that looks similar, albeit at a less wearable/more traditional 33mm. I'd buy the Tissot without a doubt.
Very nice piece. Though I believe the “chronometre“ text should have been done in script, but certainly not a deal breaker. I’ll have to pull the trigger on this.
This Tissot looks a bit like the watch that actor Jimmy Stewart wore in the 1954 movie "Rear Window ". That Tissot was evidently 1947. There are notable differences, but overall quite similar.
@@ClickSpringReviewThe watch Stewart wore in Rear Window had a date complication? Im looking at a closeup photo of it taken directly from the movie, and there is no date complication. Are you sure its a Visidate? Its ref number is supposed to be Ref#: 6440-3.
I have a lot of watches and most run in the COSC range after being adjusted. Some are COSC rated most not. I know the certification is an added expense but can't see much in it if it makes the watch out of price. I expect a non-quartz watch to keep good time nothing more. This Tissot seems to fit my expectations - good looking, name brand and priced right.
With Top spec and COSC (there are 4 level) you get better shock setting for the balance wheel which I find are easier to service , With regards to quartz some are but many 20+ sec a month is pretty normal
From a legibility point of view, as an owner, do you feel this would be better than the salmon with black hands? I wonder if the blued hands are too reflective? Your advice would be appreciated.
@@ClickSpringReviewAnother YT reviewer (The Watch Idiot) said it does indeed have a ghost date. However, I've watched a bunch of other YT videos on this watch and I don't think any others mentioned that.
I really like the look of this piece apart from one thing which is a major deal breaker for me. Why is the chronometer text so big? Completely ruins it.
@@ClickSpringReview A lot of watches use very subtle dial text and sell perfectly fine. This one is just too shouty with that chronometer text. I still appreciate your opinion and content though.
It's nice but far too big. EDIT: just seen the stated dimensions. So if doesn't sound too big after all. Maybe just looks bigger on your wrist than I personally would be comfortable with for a watch or this style. But each to their own, if you're cool with that, fine.
Same whatch make Omega for King Peter II of Yugoslavia, father of Peter II Aleksandar I have pocket IWC gold with amazinh gold chain , like crown in crown.
I really like it, but for that vintage throw back look, it’s gotta be smaller, that thing is all dial and looks way bigger than the 39mm suggests. 36mm would have just been killer and I have an 8 inch wrist.
Nice watch for sure. Thing is the whole chronometer thing is overrated. Most well engineered movements can be tuned/regulated to run within the -4/+6 boundary. The cheap NH35 microbrand im currently wearing runs +-2s. Takes a bit of patience but do-able............
Its true anyone can get it accurate in one position but over 4/5 ?, I see many people with timegrapher reading saying zero but when you ask them for a CU reading or delta figures it all falls apart. Best thing for an NH35 is to strip it clean it and oil it correctly using Epilame first. As they are always under oiled and the exit pallet is normally dry Mark
I absolutely love this watch but there is one thing that keeps me from buying it. It just wears way too big since it’s all dial. This would have been amazing at 36mm.
Ive not heard of 39mm being over sized before plus your forgetting the lug to lug size which is one most important thing . This being only 46mm is pretty compact plus I wouldn't say its a copy as this design is timeless
This is the best Tissot I have ever seen. Such as a beautiful watch
Its simply gorgeous

Thats a good choice ps I hope you have a great day all the best
Thanks for the review! Not a lot of photos or videos out on this new dial. Glad i placed an order for one a couple days ago.
I know not many reviewers are going to do this one but I thought it looked great and was well worth the a review
Absolutely crisp and stunning dial!
Its so elegant
My opinion: way too few watches today have all 12 Arabic Numerals.
I personally like the dial and hands on this one its one of them less is more I guess
Even fewer just have the time without a bunch of other crap.

love that retro tissot logo
Yeah its got an lovely old see look to it which is great
Love this watch. Having a quality ETA at a great price is very tempting. Glad they didn’t use a plastic pallet fork like they’ve used previously.
Same here this movement if serviced every 5/7 will last a life time +
