Great video my friend….could you please tell me how to make these patterns in photoshop or any other software….so that I can do a preview of the motion before chopping the wood…
Hello, I used a cobalt steel tap, used the proper sized drill bit, also cobalt steel, used lube and went slow, constantly backing out then going forward a little deeper, you might try heating the Sos tube a little if it is giving you a lot of trouble. Hope this helps. Ken
Hi Kenneth - nice job - I bought his plans, cut out the patterns on CNC and bought all the hardware except I can't seem to fine the spring. Did you get the spring from McMaster Carr too? Can you provide me with the stock number for the spring?
I just finished building my Cepheid Sculpture on OneFinity CNC and it looks great. However, I noticed a couple of things I would change in future build. The 1/4” and 3/8” brass spacers between spinners seem flimsy, the SS shaft is too hard to sand down to fit into bearings, and there should be a brass spacer on spring shaft. I’m looking at something beefier to replace brass spacers. Also, I would also use larger bearings to fit precisely on a larger shaft or long bolt so no sanding-I would adjust wood hole size accordingly. Your thoughts?
Hello, the distance and location are not given as measurements, they are marked out on the patterns for drilling. The patterns are available from Derek Huggers website.

I’m a metal sculpture artist and looking to expand into kinetic sculptures I love the sculpture. Thanks for posting. Larry

Hi, good job, congratulations. Could you tell me where I can buy the spring and how I order it?
Did you have any problem tapping the SS tube - I've broken a couple of taps including a cobalt steel one

Larger bearings consume spring energy and will affect operational performance .
very nice. Im retired and would like to try making this very interesting piece. can anyone send me precise measurements
where can I get the spring
Nice work, nice video. (Not sure why it is so fuzzy, maybe a dirty lens?)
Hello, sorry about the image at times, I am still learning to video. Ken.

Sir, i want constant force spring
I use blue tape then spray adhesive. Comes right off.
I too have used that method, but I find direct attachment of the plans easier on large pieces. Ken.
I can't find the distance and position for the magnets!((( Please tell me
