I did the same thing, converted his design for 3D print. I went one step farther though. I decided that I wanted a different visual pattern so quite a bit of redesign on some parts for that. Added 3D printed threads for wood screws too. The basic driving mechanism is the same though. It's working, just don't have it mounted on the wall yet.

Tom, Great to hear your conversion went well. I used plastite screws to attach the pieces.
