@@kategribbon4984 The original Lovejoy cover has screaming in the choruses, like the original song by Crywank does. Although Wilbur decided to put his mark on it by making the screaming melodic. I will warn you, the screams will most certainly put you off the first few times you listen to it. That’s what I experienced but this is one of my favourite Lovejoy songs
when i originally saw that lovejoy had covered posg i was worried that i’d hate the screaming, but honestly wilbur did it slightly more melodically then the original (that should give you an idea of what the original was like) but i must say, i do prefer this version. the backing music is so good, it’s so different from the very acoustic original, but it fits with the way wilbur sung it with the reverb effect. also i can’t wait to show my mum this version because i know she’d hate the screaming bit :/ she hated the original because of it also i still can’t find this song of spotify and i’m mildly pissed because i’m from england, both artists are british but i don’t have it, is anyone else having this issue or is it in my end? edit: YOOOOO ALBUM IS OUT ON SPOTIFY :D
crywank didnt wanna wait for streaming services, so they put the album on bandcamp for a free download. if you have spotify premium you can upload the song to your playlist if you have it downloaded
lyrics (i think): thought cycle gusty, a mind filled with hot air. must i care for nothing more than myself? do i dare admit the fraught thoughts carvoting, resorting in inner-directed mourning? for the part of me that was selfless, that left without a warning. well that's what i said, maybe it's the fact that i detest this obsession with myself that leaves a mess inside my head. oh shit i'm doing it again, repelling any potential friend, revealing my innate ability to never fully comprehend, anything bigger than myself but in the end i still pretend. condescending anyone polite enough who chooses to misspend their time watching as i achieve, my secret social mission: to drain people with my boring stories and opinions. to see the bigger picture takes intelligence and wisdom. but i won't see nothing but just myself in my vision [interlude] i go outside and the blitz of faces, unwilling to confess to any empathy, endlessly, incessantly declining any pleasantries. heavily breathing, socially teething, im open like a vivisection. intense tendency to dwell, seething over missed connections. infected by my perceptions that i'm a non-entity, project my insecurity until intensity is weaponry. grieving a heavenly fiction i perceived while i was dreaming. awake! freezing, wheezing, fundamentally i'm still believing that: this is an elegy for concepts i conceived in deep sleep, and i helplessly watch them fade while i'm awake: i try and keep them alive. incomparable with life but eventually they die, and the brain i used to cultivate reveals my lovers were a lie. [in original song there's an interlude here] when inside my mind i find a way to replicate: reality through lucid dreaming i decimate the limitations of actuality. capacity practically eternal, mortality external. no god, but i investigate the blasphemous worship of the nocturnal. internally existing without morality, creates profanities without the travesty, and compared to the apathy of realness, i reveal my own insanity. the majesty of fantasy protects me from tragedy. normalities effect traject agony of rationality, which thankfully penetrates with no avail to my unreality. an elaborately designed, privately owned spiral galaxy. financially i'm failing, naturally decaying soon i'll have no place safe to sleep if these bills still need paying. displaying cravings with open eyes for something mind-expanding, for when i drift away i see the totality of understanding. This used to be one of my all time favourite songs by one of my favourite bands, now I'm lucky enough to see it covered by one of my new favourite bands :') I am so happy because of this, oh my gosh
It feels like its really missing something, they should release 2 versions, one with the original screaming and another with the screaming toned down and made to fit 1000% better with it instead of "ahhhhh" more "ohhh-wa-ah-ohhh"
I was not aware this song was out until I asked my Alexa to paly lovejoy and this came on without warning and I was like "hold up, did I miss something-" Sounds really cool
thank you for this! i LOVE the instrumentals of this cover, and this version is much calmer to listen to and i dont feel like i have to turn down my volume everytime this song comes on in public lmao - though i do have to admit it feels like something is missing in the parts where the screaming used to be. I respect the screams for artistic meaning and all and wilbur did fantastic here, tho i do wish they sounded more musical and less like someone is dying xD
thanks for making this! i love this song but sometimes the screaming is abit too loud and weird for me (no offence to anyone! i’m just not very good with loud noises) so this is a life saver:D i can listen to this without then screaming
i have no problem with people who remove the screams from different versions of posg but it always feels like something is lost in the process. sure you can listen to this version, but the song really does need the screaming. it adds so much emotion and charm
Could you do a clean version without screaming as well I wana put it in my art class Playlist but my teacher won't let me cause of the curse word and it without screaming is a lot more pleasant for the class so if you could do this it would mean the world to me
Honestly the song doesn’t feels right without the screams even in the lovejoy version where they feel super out of place anyway the only one that does work without it (I’ve heard at least) is the editor Wilbur ARG version Just my opinion
Don't know what about the screams puts me off, especially after going to check out the original, cuz the ones in Lovejoy's cover aren't nearly as bad as the original's
It’s actually really easy :) Just release your music with the DistroKid distributor and after that link your Yt and within like 20 days you’ll have the music not next to your name.
Imagine if the screams were replaced by a guitar solo it would be so cool!
what screams? i’m so confused
@@kategribbon4984 those screams lol :

In Wil’s solo version he did a few years ago, there were solos in place of the screams. That cover had a strangely cathartic vibe to it, do recommend
But it wouldbt fit the song well
