CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Nefertiri (Rachel Weisz) battles it out with Anck Su (Patricia Velasquez) in front of a royal audience, with Anck Su finishing on top.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
This big-budget sequel from writer/director Stephen Sommers navigates much of the same cliffhanger territory as George Lucas and Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones franchise. It is 1933, eight years after the events of The Mummy (1999). Legionnaire Rick O'Connell Brendan Fraser has married his Egyptologist girlfriend Evelyn Carnahan (Rachel Weisz) and the couple has settled in London, where they're raising their young son Alex (Freddie Boath). The family's domestic tranquility is shattered when the 3,000-year-old mummified corpse of Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo), which has been shipped to the British Museum, is resurrected once again to resume his evil quest for immortality. In the meantime, another ancient threat emerges in the form of the Scorpion King (professional wrestler Dwayne Johnson, aka. the Rock), a mighty warrior frozen in time with his supernatural army. In order to save his family, Rick is forced to seek a mythical pyramid of gold, facing marauding bands of pygmy skeletons, among other hazards. The Mummy Returns co-stars John Hannah, Oded Fehr, and Patricia Velasquez.

Now THIS is the kind of action I want to see in a movie. Just a proper fight scene between two people, where you can see what's actually going on, it's not rushed and you can enjoy to see the techniques. The action nowadays is often quick, chaotic, full of CGI and shaky cameras.
that is so true.
i cant stand the camera shakes, the cuts and chaotic shots in fight scenes of movies today.
Roger Federer good choreography but completely wrong techniques
True but it's so beautiful to watch
Samuel Hopkins But then, what would Roger Federer know about fighting?
Sharat Sachin apparently a lot? I couldn't tell you personally but I could bet he'd break a few jaws if he had to
I missed this kind of movies
Me Too
me too.
Henz Carl Tupas yes i watched the whole movie on TV just to see this one scene again
Well, the new Mummy movie is coming in 2017 with Tom Cruise. Probably no hot chick fight in it though...
MorliHolect well since the new movie revolves around a beautiful Mummy..im sure there will be some pretty awesome girls fights 💪
I saw so many times the entire movie just for this scene.
Agreed this sequel wasn't good, but I keep coming back to this scene.
+Diana Duran Yes! I used to rent the dvd just for that!
i knew i wasn't the only one...
everyone loves this scene
Diana Duran me too
This is such a great fight scene, mostly because the two actresses wanted to do it themselves and spent 5 months learning the choreography 💕
six months, actually, and I respect and adore their dedication to this movie : )
lame
So it means , there are no doubles for this? A Stuntwoman?
@@michaelsonortega2387 Apparently not.
Salute to these actress
Re-casting Evie was such a huge mistake.
Recasting her? That's still Rachel Weisz
@@harkonnen1879 I think they meant for the third movie.
I know right.
@@ZachRoDah yeah...why rachel wasn't in the third movie?

For those of you saying how you thought that Anck-su-namun was better. first of all, she is older than Nefertiri so that gives her more experience, but she was also Nefertiri's mentor so I wold think that she'd be better. At this time Nefertiri was supposed to be in her late teens while Anck-su-namun was in her 30s/40s
Precisely!
Yup. She acknowledged that by saying you are learning quickly. I'll have to watch my back. She was still a student basically. A highly skilled student
She was her teacher that was for sure but Nefertiti was no less the best student out there probably her rival because she knew the intentions of Anuk Su Namun to some extent hence "I'll watch my back too"
Where did you learn this? I want to read more now.
and she was the guardian of the bracelet of anubis, makes her sorta an assassin and also the pharaoh's soon to be wife
That's what happens when two girls see each other wearing the same dress.
HAHAHAHA😂😂😂
Lmao!!!!!!!!
Vespa Due Top comment! ROFL
Lol..... Underrated Comment
I know. Why is that so big deal for women? Other thing is ,women always over-upset when people calling their name wrong?
Anck-su-namun was a training partner for a princess named Nefertiti. The princess never trusted her. She was the one who ordered her father's guards to follow Imhotep.
Nefertiri not Nefertiti
This fight sequence - and the subsequent 'return match' between the two female characters - are the two 'stand outs' for me in this film. That Rachel Weisz and Patricia Velásquez did at least 3/4 of this scene with their stunt doubles doing the back flips and cartwheels is even more impressive.
Check Patricia Velasquez's instagram feed. She posted a photo of herself with Rachel and titled it "A Couple of Bad Girls".
Anck-su-namun reminds me of an ethnic Sandra Bullock for some reason.
yea, a far cry from how beautiful egyptians actually were, especially considering they were apart of the eighteenth dynasty.....
What do you mean by "ethnic" anyway? Sandra Bullock probably stems from an ethnic group as much as anyone else, even if she is/ is not aware of that groups history.
She's mostly of German descent so she'd be considered a German-American, not Latina. She even has German citizenship. So Henz is correct, she's American and not Latina.:D
Steven Aguilera Well then, clarify what you mean by "ethnic". Germans consider themselves to be an ethnic group for all I know.
Akillesursinne My comment was directed at mauiboy8705. But you're right, I should've used "exotic" rather than "ethnic".
...And 3000 years later, Nefertiri came back and beat that ass!
heck yeah lol
That doesn’t sound like it could be taken the wrong way.
Evy and Anck Su Namun have a meet in the final battle of the mummy 1
😹😹😹
This fight scene is a lot better than the batman vs superman..
Tonn Donaldo dont remember this torture
Nah. Judging by your profile pic, I’m not surprised by your assertion lmao
😂😂
Batman is the winner
The way Anck su namun doesn’t break eye contact when making her attack is spine-chilling at 0:55
1:14 dam that would've suck if those statues were real lol:D
It would have been extremely painful if they were real.
They are real, they just don't have lives.
A4King555 they were numb from the waist down 😂😂😂
Imagine what face's they would have made
😂🤣🤣
Rachel & Patricia were great in this scene their trainers & choreographers really taught them how to use those weapons.
Love it when she throws the sais right on the statues junk and they applauding 😂
The best scene in the whole movie #Legendary
Agreed.
One of the best fight scene in the last 20 years.
i know that everybody don't care about this but i think ancient egypt is a sooooo interesting period !!!!!!! i love it i watched lots of diferent movies about it and if i had to chose a moment to go back it will be this period ! imagine if you could be cleopatra or nefertiti or one of these incredible people ! it would be so interesting !!! thank you to have read my comment haha ^^
Same, I love egypt from the bottom of my heart :)
yeaaahhh someone like me !!
Yeah, but if you were black or a jew, you would be shit outta luck lol
yes it's very interesting I don't think before they were Arabs tho or maybe they were but a different kind
yes !
:20
*raises leg up*
Somehow knocks opponent who was standing behind her down.
Lmao! I can't stop laughing
+Grant Reed Flexible leg.
+Grant Reed Scorpion kick. She is the one who started it. Lol.
gymnastic level kick.
Yes, the thigh can't go past the torso and by extension, the shoulder. But with enough flexibility, the shin and the foot can go quite a bit farther. So yes, she could have done that
I enjoy this scene for all the wrong reasons.
its hot
+Tom Sproson You're not the only one i suppose ;-)
+Tom Sproson No, for the RIGHT reasons :)
+Tom Sproson
¿the sais?
+Roymer Darío “Corvekter01 o Streamker01” Plata Huertas damn djdjkdks
My favorite girl fight scene.
Yeah mine too.
Bruh I was doing this entire fight sequence alone in my room at 12 years old, full on spring ups, back flips and the splits lmao. I love this movie
0:43 is my favorite line in the movie. Just rolls off the tongue.
Hanananananana-feeda
How is it actually said? What is it?
I cant help but comment on the fact that patricias character oozes a fiery emotion and her dancings skills come through as well , shes the "villain girl " and yet you kinda want her to win , as if something in her element deserves justice, or further investigation remarkable.
Man. Rachel Weisz was scorchin in this movie
Love the way their opening stances look like something out of a hieroglyph
Like the hierolglyph Evelyn found at the beginning of the movie
Great fight scene. Still one of my all time favs. The sai is an interesting weapon and it looks nice too. Probably the reason why they used them for this movie even though its origin isn't egyptian. It just worked really well.
whats the origin of that weapon?

This is really king's joy. They are both fcking gorgeous beautiful women and watching them fight like beasts..
One of them was his daughter tho
+Cam ...egypt kings often marries their kin tough
So Shao Kahn knows how to enjoy
Their fighting is really graceful though...
I love Nefertiri but I'm so obsessed with Anck su Amon😍
Rachel M.
when everyone thought patricia velasquez was straight. lol.
utubenotebanco not funny she was almost raped
What a catfight! Perfect bodies.
at the end of the fight nefretiri literally stops fighting and turns to a killing machine. love the depth in the fight.
Beautiful warrior Anck su namun, is a Venezuelan Girl.
Viva Venezuela!! My beauty country♥
3000 years later
Nefertiti comes back and beats that bitch
RETRO JUNKMAN Oh is that the why Nefertiri kicked Anck-su-namun's tiny ass?
RETRO JUNKMAN The better fighter is the one who wins for good, that is Nefertiri.
*****
She did, Anck was forced to run as she was no match
***** She scarred Anck that is her defeat and if Anck is soooo good why didn't she continue the fight? Cause she was defeated and scared of the princess. Simple. BTW the 1st 'battle' was for entertainement, had Anck tried to kill the princess she would have a worst fate than Imhotep.
I love Anck Su Namun's face at the end. She's like "why did you go there?" XD
raphael called.. he wants his sais back.
with complementary pizza.
When your daughter doesn't like her stepmother.
bro the way she's dodging the spear at 1:47 lmfaoooo
1:21 that familiar sign when a girl goes nuts.
This scenes is one of my favorites!!!
There was so many "Yas Queen!" Moments in this scene
Its like gymnastics sword fighting lmaoo this scene is awesome!
You gotta love how Imohtep and the Paraoah always looks at each other with that "My bitch wins" look, LOL.
Still gives me goosebumps nearly 22 years later the first two films are masterpieces 💛 pure gold
The tense moment between u and ur friends or siblings when you find out theres one slice of pizza left
my kind of fight scene, where u can actually see whats going on.
fight scenes in action movies nowadays have these chaotic camera cuts and shaking like wtf is going on?
i cant even see who hit who.
Only the American ones. Indonesia still does it right, check out the Raid movies.
Kitana x Mileena.
no skarlet vs mileena
lLoyall X No. 🔥Mileena vs Elektra🔥
Kitana x Tanya
I love where Anck-su-Namun throws her sais, and with so much precision. :P
I bet some people went "ouch" when they saw it...at least they were statues, though...
One of the only sequels better than the original.
This is my all time favorite scene from any movie, sometimes i just watch the movie, to skip to this part, when evie has the vision at the same time as imhotep is epic, perfect combination of the past and the present
Wait a minute , why does Egyptians have Japanese weapon , sai sword?
That's one of this movie's blooper...Sai swords belongs to Japan.
It never existed in that region. It is believed the weapon was developed during the Ming dynasty (A.D. 1368-1644)...
Beatrix957 I don't really expect a movie with Brendan Fraser [Encino man] to be historically accurate ; but this was a sexy fight scene with a lot of spirited entertainment in it and yes those are Sai swords I can surmise that people who favour EGYPTIAN culture would say they invented everything but yes they are credited with JAPANESE weaponry enjoy!!
Ok,I'll wait a minute XD
if you want to be historically accurate, I think Egypt being in trade with the Silk Route (China) will answer your question... You can already see silk in their clothing so ideas, books, weaponry anything that can be sold could have made it into ancient egypt...
Khongor Shatar because It's a Movie
best scene in the mummy returns.at the age of 12 i thought this was the best thing ever now at 29 still is. a brilliant fighting sequence by the female actors Rachel Weisz and Patricia Velasquez.go girl power!
0:52 The real Imhotep watching the movie series like "bruh I was only trying to build pyramids for Djoser"
Melhor filme da saga da Múmia! Rachel Weisz e Patrícia Velásquez perfeitas!
This is the best fight of the whole movie, for many reasons.
Thanks for posting! My favorite scene in the movie!
I love how the poses are exactly the same in hieroglyphs
I love watching Imhotep getting all nervous in the background
Sais are Asian weapons, last time I checked.
+ValiantSkyRider720 "Made in China."
+Mister Spade the one thing you'll ever see on products
In ancient Egypt, they were all about learning different fighting styles. The Pharroh was likely gifted the sais by a foreign ambassador.
And Souls reincarnate. Not the bodies.
This movie lacked in the research department.
Loved the original, hated the sequel (minus this scene).
Imhotep was a massive weeaboo.
"AM I KAWAII, PHARAOH-SEMPAI?"
*1:14** " Don't cheat on her LoL "*
I have seen this movie so many times, but not until recently did I found out that anck su namun was Nefertiri's stepmom, dafuq was I asleep all those times? lol
She was going to be nefertiri's stepmother
In reality Nefertiti was Anck su namum’s biological mother.
Хорошо девочки дерутся. Эта сцена мне очень нравится. Патрисия Веласкес молодец. Вообще обе хорошие, брюнетки, просто красавицы
I might be crazy. I saw this when I was 9, but I think I remember seeing Rick in Egyptian clothes as well. He was a guardian or something, and he was shown for a few seconds in the palace.
I wish more movies would feature sais besides Elektra and Tmnt
team nefertiri
TEAM Anck-su-namun as well! she Looks much more agyptian and is more beautyful and more powerful.
I disagree. She's as cold as a snake.
+Alexander Seldes But still beautiful and deadly.
+Tiffany Days Nefertiri's prettier and smarter.
Patricia and Rachel are very beautiful women they brought life to their characters.
Claudia Scholz I don't understand why the beauty part matters
She swept the leg,damn.
I think Egyptian women are very alluring & beautiful, w/ all of that gold lol 🔥😍💛💛 & gold is my favorite color & I got some gold outfits myself
just don't claim they were black
Yeah, God forbid. Where would the world be if they were?
matt smith Well she didn't so, what's your point?
what if they were? so you think they were white? lol.. they weren't arabs either. Arabs conquered parts of Egypt as well as some parts of Greece, Southern Italy and Spain. But ancient Egyptians were not white or arab. run along you racist. Great civilizations doesn't consist of all blonde hair blue eyed nordic people that you try to portray the Greeks as. The Greeks aren't black but most of them sure aren't nordic. They are very Mediterranean.
@ Matt Smith They were black.
both Patricia and Rachel did such a great job in this movie😊💖👍
omg goosebumps they both slayed in the scene lol
Rachel weisz's eyes are big, Patricia Velazquez are small. But both of them are pretty.
The way Nefertiti did the kip up is so smooth, I’ve always imagine what’s it like fighting with Sais when this scene appeared. :)).
Both the first and this second one motivated to do martial arts, later on, at least.
love this scene! there's nothing like a good Ancient Egyptian cat fight :)
It is well known in Hollywood and the game indistry that a woman with a weapon will become an agile ninja. :)
I like both but I probably like anck-us-Namur more to because she evil and she doesn't care about anyone who doesn't love a villain with their own motives
Jojo MOMO you without mind
Now kiss.
winner takes on Elektra
Actually, the weapons they are using are called Sais, which were a farming tool back in the Egyptian times. Peasants used to use them as defensive weapons in the time of war. However, I will agree they were probably not used to this extent as shown in the movie
They also originated in Japan. First popularized in Western culture by Raphael of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
This scene is one of the reason I never get bored of watching...
I love Egyptian theme, the ancient Egyptian golden coloured costumes, n the sais...
Hahahaha! OMG! So did I. :) I could mimic the combat moves, but never the flips etc. Ah, those were the days. This is hands down my favorite scene out of the entire Mummy series. LOVE THIS.
Jesus loves you unconditionally! 😊
I remember as kid I’ve always wanted to that resourceful and versatile with weapons.
Favorite movie ever !
mortal kombat
eyyy! reminded me of mileena because of their knives lol
Turnypz vs katana
Mileena
Speaking of which, I think it would be awesome to see Anck-su-namun fight Mileena, and Imhotep fight Shang Tsung. ^_^ I'm not sure how I thought of Imhotep vs Shang Tsung, in case anyone is wondering. LOL
My childhood favorite movies and I still like everything about this movie.😎🖤
the best scene
If only chicks fought like this now a days it would be awesome instead of just scratching, pulling hair, and calling each other bitches. :(
***** I wasn't serious, it was just a wish...
And after this scene, my crush on Rachel begun...
The director's mind must be blown up to tell that Anck gave up on saving her lover in the end. Stupid Hollywood style movie, everyone is losing their characters just to make the main characters look better. Anck-su-namun killed herself trying to save Imotep 3000 years ago and now you'd say she would give it up on him? BTW, Anck, definitely much more beautiful than the WHITE princess.
+Shen Eva Nice racism there. Do you think it's okay to be racist against 'WHITE' people? Evie sees her character in flashbacks as white because she sees herself living someone else's life, and guess what, she is WHITE. Most upper class English people in the 1920s were WHITE, so why shouldn't she be? She sees herself because she doesn't know what she looked like in her previous life, she just recognises her soul in a former incarnation. Doesn't mean Nefertiri was supposed to have been white. And for the record the woman who plays Anck-su-namun is Mestizo and Wayuu. No closer to Egyptian than Rachel Weisz (Hungarian Jewish, Austrian and Italian) is.
+Hazel no TV is not just white aka European remembering the first one she stated her father was Egyptian and her mom was a British scholar
+Shen Eva I agree. Even when I was a kid watching this, I thought that it was basically a cop out/uncharacteristic of Anck to abandon Imhotep like that after initially giving her life for him.
+Lovi Poekimo she gave up her life before cause she knew he would bring her back to life. keep in mind this all happened in the scorpion year which means both Ank and Imhotep were planning to take over the world by the time they killed Seti. when she saw that all was lost, she left Imhotep to die.
+Hazel even if Nefertiri(the character) was meant to be white(I don't see how that matters here) she's still more beautiful than Ank, cause Rachel Weisz 😉💕
Love how it has less cut than movies nowadays.
take a note MCU and Netflix, that's how you make badass female characters without being cringey
Amazing! Rachel and Patricia! Patricia is Venezuelan 🇻🇪😍
I'm surprised the sound mixing department didn't try to cover up the sound of plastic axes hitting plastic spears.
+apotheos1s Nah. They definitely had plastic back then, homie.
+apotheos1s Wood?
+apotheos , Your head is plastic. :))
I love Ancient Egypt! It's my favorite culture, especially from the Ancient World. The cultures of India, Ancient Persia, Ancient Greece, Ancient China and Atlantis all come in second with France, Spain, Italy, the Caribbean & Polynesia all coming in third. I'm just fascinated by rich & historical cultures!
I'm pretty sure they didn't use sais in ancient Egypt.
When Nefertiti lifts up her mask, you can see a band aid on her finger
If you want to reboot this perfection. At least do a reboot of these two.
Man, they’re using my favorite Egyptian weapons! Japanese sais!
of course this is the most viewed clip...i picture myself fighting lmfao and WOMENPOWER!!!
Nefertity is the ONLY queen to have her own temple....Ramsey was so in love with her he gave her a temple
