First time I saw phil at the cellar, a young woman raised her hand to angrily answer a rhetorical question that he asked during his act. He absolutely destroyed her in the funniest way possible. I’d pay 1000s to see a video of it.
Ok so based off these recs Im gonna go get a few paper plane cocktails, pop some acid, beat up someone I hate brutally, and then watch Everything Everywhere All At Once, while listening to the Grateful Dead! 😂
I just love this show. When I drive to college I always listen to you guys on mondays. It just sets the day with the best mood. I always thinks of the little jazz intro when I get into my car on mondays. Keep doing what you’re doin 😘
And a legit model, including a fashion show in Milan and he knew Gucci and a bunch of those big designers. He lived across the pond for a year or three. ❤☮😅
I LOVE sitting in the front row at a club and having comedians roast me and call me a serial killer or just a wacky hippie 😂 SO fun! Looking forward to trying my first open mic too!
Funny hearing him to about putting out his crowd work clips. That’s the only thing being recommended on my shorts and I love it. It’s how I found the guy
Phils gonna get really big. saw him for the first time on A HUGE clip, now he's on the pod and sam's tellin him to do the LA rounds... it's only a matter of time, he's such a strong comic.
Phil is so underrated, glad they talked about his crowd work, first time I I heard him make a joke was Sam talking about his father and and Phil called his dad an escape artist
A trio of crowd work specialists. I could only imagine seeing all 3 in one night. I might die of laughter. ALSO William Zabka had a very very small role as the boyfriend in National Lampoons European Vacation.
Fuck yeah!! My new favorite comedian Hanley! I only just discovered his existence last week. And he is on my fav podcast here? Winning. I hope that he plays Eugene, Oregon soon. Jerry would want you to!
Phil Hanley is hilarious. I just heard of him recently. Glad to see him on the pod. I’m bout to check out his special now. I didn’t know he had one. Thanks guys. Killing it.
P.s. I love that Norman is pushing his liquor, burping and farting, while Phil is keeping it classy by drinking high pH water, covering his mouth when he burps, and saying faux paux and “God Dang It!” 🤌🏽
Man, the Bits Time Travel segment really showcased their own distinct styles of telling and creating jokes. That was really cool to see them brainstorm that one.
I'll be in NYC for the first time in 22 years and really wanted to catch one of you guys' sets, but alas... Sam will be in NJ and Mark will be in Albany. Maybe next time. Keep up the great work guys.
Awesome guest. Good to hear a Grateful Dead fan explain where to start with the band's music. Never heard of Phil but damn I can't wait to see his special.
18:27 I had a very similar experience and relationship with acid. LSD change my life for the better. It helped me meditate deeper, and ultimately reunite with my grandfather and father who had passed away. I ultimately found the closure I needed to move on.
Only recently discovered Phil. Loved his Ooh La La special. Looking fwd to this
Sameeee

I want to see Phil on chocolate Sunday. I think he would do really well or fail miserably. Either way, it would be hilarious.
Isn’t that only for black comedians? Just wondering.
PH is hilarious beyond funny I’ve just became a huge fan!!!
Love that Sam knows the Thin Man series. Great stuff. Favorite one also star's: Jimmy Stewart w/ Powell & Loy drankin' & Sleuthin'
Man, the Bits Time Travel segment really showcased their own distinct styles of telling and creating jokes. That was really cool to see them brainstorm that one.
That's a very good prediction of how Maron's appearance on WMBD would go.
Why do they all look like different versions of each other😂😂
