38:50 'Try' in acting was explained to me in sports analogy, namely, basketball. You have your instructions from the coach and you try to execute them. But what if your defender tries to stop you, say, by suddenly standing in front of you? You adjust without thinking. Instinctively, you run past him or failing that, you push. Anything to try and lose them. If instead you stop and list in your head things you ought to do, you lose. "Oh, they're in my way. Is it a foul if I push him hard? What if I do a shimmy, will that shake him?" etc. That's the 'try,' when you overthink the moment, instead of moving. In acting, that would be like, "it's a dramatic scene, I'm receiving terrible news, do I make a face? Like, really frown? Cover my mouth? Oh, I'll do this on top of that!" and that's when people say, "you're trying" as in "trying to look shock or saddened, instead of actually being shocked and then sad."
Mark being late was so funny, can’t wait to see that get copied. Died when Sam bit off the Bodega Cat top. Collin Quinn put on a Master Class! But the OPEN PIZZA BOX staring at me all EP was pure torture

I totally got what Colin was saying' about doing impersonations or auditioning. I used to do this laugh of my dear old boss Eugene Yao in Toronto. He'd stomp his foot, through his head back put his hand to his belly & just bellow out ' HAH ! ' - It had a certain tone to it that was kinda squeaky & I could make that note. If I did the motions just right & nailed his timing it would just be perfect & the joke would kill. But while I'm doing the impersonation, in the exact moment I'd have this tremendous feeling of joy & for a brief second feel as though - I was him - & that's what made it work.
