- Blistering Fast Autobahn acceleration run with the magnificent Ferrari 458 Italia powered by a high-revving 4.5 liter V8 delivering 570 hp and 540 Nm of torque (weight: 1.485 kg). Special thanks go to the guys of www.ecc-rent.de who made this extensive test-drive possible. Honestly, I would have never thought that the sound of this Ferrari would be so extreme. To make it short, this is the fastest car we have ever tested on Automann-TV, making close to 10 seconds onto 200 km/h is mind-boggling. It's even faster than the modified Nissan GTR (560hp) and specifically from 200 km/h on it pulls aways from everything else. In idle it is almost quiet once the valves are closed, but the hollow character and high sound frequency make this amongst the most special car sounds on earth. Since this car has a slightly modified exhaust with a Capristo Box that also opens the valves in the low revs / speeds it is louder than any normal 458. Man, that's just beautiful! The sound of the 458 is like music to my ears. Really nice acceleration, experiencing that must be mind blowing, even the weather was nice and not many people in the Autobahn. Keep up the great work @Automann-TV :)

MacTonight Normal Inline 4s sound like a flat plane crank V8 (i.e. Ferrari V8)
Also Inline 5 has similar sound to a V10, and an inline 6/V6 has a simlar sound to a V12/W12...
That sound is so brutal, specially from onboard it growls like a lion. Amazing!

I hired this car out in Sydney Australia and honestly it is that fast you cannot think fast enough. When you push it hard the revs come up that fast it’s really hard to judge when to change gear because if you start thinking about changing at 7000 rpm you are already at 9000rpm, you have to adjust. And the sound every time you change gear there is an explosion behind your head, it’s nuts

The engine in the 458 is just two VTEC-locked Honda F20C engines glued together and upstroked by 200cc each. Tell me I’m wrong.
*CORRECTION* : 3,7 seconds 0-100 with 2 people inside (extra weight). :P
these were probably not ideal conditions to have scored 3.7, the weight of the people was probably not there much
This is the best Ferrari ever made in my opinion.
Hätte nie gedacht, dass der so unfassbar krass geht. Hab ihn immer für den "Standard-Ferrari" gehalten, den man ab und an mal sieht, nicht für so ein krasses Beschleunigungsmonster. Aber wie der vorwärts geht ist echt unfassbar brutal.
Meinst du, du könntest mal einen BMW E 60 M5 V10 vor die Linse und auf die Bahn bekommen? Der geht auch unfassbar krass, selbst gegen Lamborghinis, wegen seinem tollen Leistungsgewicht.
+Nagstrr23 Mal schauen. Evtl. ergibt sich irgendwann mal die Möglichkeit bzgl. der E60 M5. Beschleunigung vom 458 ist oberste Liga. 10-11 Sekunden auf 200 ist unglaublich.

There are a few things that have always been wondering me about driving a 458 italia:
1.What do you think about column- mounted paddle shifters, not moving with the steering wheel?
2.How about indicators moving with the steering wheel? And the rest of the controls?
3.How did it feel at top speed on the autobahn? I've heard it's pain in the ass because of a very quick steering ratio?
+klstrucker930419 1. Paddle Shifters are great, you get used to them very quickly. 2. Indicators are a bit strange on this car, but you also get used to them after a day or two. Car feels great on the Autobahn. The steering needs to be sharp, I didn't have any problems.

Well, very nice video. Perfect idea, showing street acceleration with in-corner tacho, and showing accel. times. Just one thing - cant se the speedo hiden by big rew counter. :-)

Can I ask you something. I have one Gopro camera, and one Sony hdr camera. Is this enough for filming some shots in my car? I'm filming just for fun and I enjoy it. :-) But problem is I have a camera suction cup for Gopro, but what about for other camera. Is it possible to fix it somehow I have only stand for hdr camera. +Hesham Abassi Of course I could have gone faster and the car feels still great at around 300. But overall I don't want to risk too much and I had the feeling its time to slow down again. If you are out on the Autobahn you should not be chasing numbers like 300 or 320, sometimes it works out, sometimes not ;)

458 Itália doit in 3,4 0-100, these were probably not ideal conditions to have scored 3.7

+NonoOfPyro Auf jeden Fall. Wenn man diese Autos fährt, und dann noch ziemlich am Limit dann braucht 100% der Konzentration. Nach 2-3 Stunden Filmen fühle ich mich oft als wenn ich nen Marathon gelaufen wäre;)
Kann ich mir gut vorstellen. :D Was ist schlimmer: Geschwindigkeit (also schnelles Fahren) oder Alltagssituationen (Stadtverkehr, enge Straßen)? :]
+NonoOfPyro Schnelles Fahren ist immer anstrengender. In der Stadt darf man auch nicht zu viel Respekt vor dem Auto haben, sonst passieren eher noch mehr Fehler.

+Labr's Trucking I too was surprised at the low end power this car makes. Why go for a turbo when they make good low end power for every day driving?

cant pass euro 6 emission if they stick to high revving na they change to turbo because trubo do really well in mpg and co2 when your on a test bench but they drink just as much or worst when you spanking compare to a na engine

I hate to say this but you shouldn’t do a full throttle in the highest gear because it makes the engine work twice as hard the ecu telling the engine max power but it can’t because it to high of a gear

You don't know past gear dude 😂 the 458 italia have got 570HP at 8300rpm, so it's useless to throttle until 9000rpm...
It's always best for acceleration to upshift at redline in these kind of NA engines. Gearing plays a more predominant role on acceleration compared to peak power, even if the power shallows down after 8300 rpm. Plus when you upshift the next gear will be higher in the power band and the mean power among all gear will be the maximum available. ua-cam.com/video/zZBqb0ZJSwU/v-deo.html this guy does the math for everything.
