Smithsonian ALMOST got it right. Actually between Missouri and Oklahoma, the Osage were in Kansas. The Osage "sold" their land in Kansas to "buy" their land in Oklahoma. Since the Osage were NOT given their land in Oklahoma, it could NOT be taken away from them by the government when OIL was discovered.

ALMOST even closer to being right. The government did go back on their deal with us and my grandfather, Chief James Bigheart, had to renegotiate the deal. The government owns the soil of which our reservation sits, but we still own the mineral rights. The government “manages” our oil horribly. We recently won a lawsuit against them about it.

This is only a small part of Osage American history, the Osage’s also rolled with the founding fathers and saved George Washington in 1754 when he was a British general and hs company was attack by another tribe. All were killed but the Osage’s saved George Washington because they saw something in him, they called him “the Eagle”. Osage’s also have a standard song on their drum since the 1700’s that day they will ride with America until the end of time. Wah-ti-anka band of Claremore Osage’s from the Zon-Zo-Li is who I be.

You also left out the part where they went to France and met the king and some of them stayed in France.
My father was the author of the history of the Osage people Louis F Burns.

@@keithburns5707 Hi Keith! I am a teacher and my son is going to be a teacher as well and must put together a lesson on the Osage. . There are limited resources on the Osage for some reason. Did your father write a book and if so, where can we purchase it?

Carrie Spoores i’ll direct you back to the history of the Osage people by Louis F Burns University of Alabama press There’s also his research library at White hair Memorial near Fairfax Oklahoma.

Carrie Spoores I guess because in some limited books they are described very different from the Native American stereotype, like their facial features, power, size (they were very robust and tall) and more 👍

Sadly, the Smithsonian profits from historic misinformation. Perhaps its actually impossible to rid their proud European ancestry.

Because a lot of it is to distort reality. Then to incite more division. This is the communist agenda. Once completed you are forced into a collective stripped of all property and family.

Do you even read the comments? There is more fact in comments most times. This narrative was probably written by a 12 year old.

Smithsonian Institute, I found a bunch of rocks that have photo realistic portraits like the one in my avatar and no one‘s doing about anything about it. Can I get a hand out here in North Carolina? My email is in the channel description. 360+ now advocates for portable art… Documentary is going to be coming out on a major Network, Hoping to do this the right way and not have it be some kind of pseudoscience conspiracy theory type thing… I emailed you but no response, State Archeologist are denying it but I have seven or eight of these photo realistic portraits. There’s no denying it anymore so can we get some help!?!?
