The remedy for ghosting (which I struggle with) is to put a sheet of BLACK paper behind the page you are reading. It needs to be the same thickness as the paper you put in your printer. I cut it to size and I find it does wonders for all that print coming through from the other side.
Thank you so much for this video! I am adding the filament Bible to my Christmas list and could NOT decide on the print size. This video is exactly what I needed!
Your hand motions are pretty entertaining! I'm not certain what they had to do with what you were saying, but clearly you thought it would personalize your verbal commentary. Well done! ;)
yeah...I definitely talk with my hands....which is weird for my "talking head" videos. Those little guys are still flying around just no one can see um. Thanks for watching and for the encouragement!
Great video comparison! Thanks for taking the time to detail. I own the large print and giant print, and would agree about your "ghosting" comment. I wonder if the giant print has an ever-so-slight bolder font "appearance" (even thought they're same publisher and typeface). It does appear less distracting to me, placing the size of font differences aside. I'm 51 now, and only need 'readers' to help my vision. When I turned 40, I began looking into larger print bibles, to use without readers, because of slight changes in my vision. Now...I prefer using both a larger print bible and readers for my reading enjoyment. Filament is a great concept and job accomplished by Tyndale! I recall 25 years ago +/-, with Tyndale, Thomas Nelson, Zondervan; have all stepped up their game on the consistency of print, paper quality, binding, etc! The leather one is even on par or better, as a whole, then a "premiere" Tyndale product from a decade or so ago. Finally, for anyone considering one of the three reviewed - please buy one asap. You can't go wrong with any of the three bibles being reviewed. Then enjoy reading it and living it out, daily! :)
It would have also been nice if we cold see the size of the references in the lower right corner (are they bogger on the Giant and Large print Bibles?).
I agree 100%. I am 46 years old, I still have 20/20 vision, but I can tell when reading my vision isn’t as good as it used to be. I bought a NLT Large print for myself and a Giant print for a relative last year. I like hers sooooooo much better. The text is bigger and easier to read and oddly, the Bible feels much smaller and more manageable to hold and read. My large print feels awkwardly large. The large print is okay to read on a table, but not comfortable in the hand. Also, I don’t have small hands, I can comfortably palm a basketball. As in pick it up with one hand. Yet, the giant print is very comfortable to read at a chair, holding it in your hands. It also works great on a table because it lays flat. The giant print is the best version. I need to either sell my large print or gift it to someone and buy a giant print.
Great Video Comparison! I have the Giant Print with a really beautiful cover that looks like suede. It is a green/teal tone with engraved design. Love it! 💞
Bible font sizing is insane. Tyndalle is one of the worst at not listing the actual font size on listings and packaging because they don’t believe font sizes should be standardized. Meaning a 10 point font might be labeled a giant print in a compact Bible, a large print in a personal Bible, and a normal print on reference Bible. I find that really confusing as a shopper. Ghosting is greatly reduced when publishers “line match” the layout which is another detail that few manufacturers actually list. If you can find one that offers that it’s worth it.
@@ClaimingChristianity Ansolutely. It’s just important to remember that “Oh this looks like a really good font size and they call it large print…” does not mean you can safely order any of their “large print” Bibles and get the same font. And I really wish it was standardized like that. I really thought it was, and I got burned. I assumed it would be something like compact 7-8pt, regular 9-10pt, large 12 pt, giant 14pt, super giant 16pt and that buying different Bible sizes would just affect thickness/number of pages. But each company sets their own standards per type of translation, type of notes included, Bible dimensions, margin/layout, line spacing, and font. It would be extremely useful if they offered a print preview of what an actual page would look like on a 8.5x11 PDF so you could print a sample at home and know exactly what it was going to look like before ordering online.
On a video entitled "NLT Filament Font Size Comparison" you really should have researched and told us the exact font size of these Bibles. Please look them up and post them in a comment. It would be appreciated (and fulfill the promise of your video).

Glad it was helpful!!
Great review! Just bought the giant print personal size. How’s the bleed through when highlighting verses?
Do you have a comparison between the giant size personal and the giant size compact?

Glad it was helpful

It is hard to tell sometimes. Hopefully comparisons are helpful.
