    I use the same 20W charging brick for my Apple Watch, iPhone and iPad. I use the Watch for sleep tracking, so charge it during my “morning routine”. I also try and stagger charging the other 2, so they don’t die simultaneously. I suppose you have to weigh up what you prefer - battery longevity or faster charging.

      Same here charge the apple watch SE 2 in the am while catching up on work emails. Then a little bit during my post evening workout shower and I have never come close to running out of battery. It is the cell version and I have to say it worked great on my afternoon walk yesterday sans iPhone and with my bluetooth headphones connected.
      I charge the iPhone to about 85-90% in the am and then don't usually worry about it during the day if I am out and about.

    The bigger battery of the promax(and plus) also helped change the way I charge. Cause with the 14promax I no longer see the need to charge at night to wakeup with 100% battery. I can just plug it in my 20w charger when I wake up, prepare for the day, and by the time I leave the house, whether it topped up at 70,80 or 90%, i am confident that it will last me through the day. And when I get to bed, battery hovers around 20-40%, and I just repeat the cycle. Cant say the same with my iphone 12 back then cause that really needed to be 100% at the start of the day to last me the whole day.

    i try to charge to only 75-80%
    and discharge to no less than 30% on most cases.
    now it's over 1000 full charge cycles and over 4 years, and the health is at 79%. pretty good. i'd say exceeded the expected health by a lot.

    • @Valdismith
      @Valdismith 6 місяців тому +1

      Yes 20 to 80 is great, you can do 10 or 15 to 85, but around 20 to 80% not always every time and 1ce in 7 charges move the electrons all the way to 100 to flow that top 20% juice. Wi-Fi charging heats more and is slower, fast cable cahrgin doesn't harm the battery at all, as this guy didn't give temperature examples and how long the battery stay at given temperature with slow and fast. On Android I have measured Wats, how the controller manages good temperature limited to 39-40C max and the higher the percentage the colder it gets, but you get to 80 in minutes, so you are not harming more then slow, maybe the same but charging 4-5 times faster and maybe even more healthy.

    You get a USB-C to Lightning cable in the box anyways (I assume for switching from Android to iOS), so you can use a USB-C brick to charge your phone. Most Android phones have a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box, so getting this brick is extremely convenient.

I still charge it atleast thrice a month with the original charger to prolongbits life because i intend to keep it till it last since its my very first and last iphone i work hard to have it. Factual is showing how much degrees the batt. controller allows the battery to reach and does it get even colder getting in the higher percentage like my 67W android. If the slow charge is keeping 32C for 2h+, and my Android is pulling 50, themn 40, then 30Watts meanwhile keeping the temp limited at 39C and when I get to higher as 70% it starts getting cooler, if I push it to 90 and 100 at the lat 5 the watts are not 40W, not even 4W (in the top percentage) and then batt. temp is not capped at 39C but 28C. So which one is better? I know my answer dealingwith Android, but for iPhone I would like to see some numbers, I am pretty confident they will manage in the same way, which would mean fast is not going to wear more than slow(need facts though, I have 1200 charges, maybe 500 cycles on one flagship Android with "claimed 67W)- so far it has been doing great for 1,5years.

  • @andrei-ro3vg

    I understand that heat affects the lifespan of lithium-ion smartphone batteries and that wired charging is often recommended. However, I can't find any specific studies on the long-term effects of wireless charging.
    For example, if I charge my phone wirelessly for two years, how would the battery health be affected? Let's assume I don't use it for gaming and always keep it charged between 20% and 80%. How would the battery health compare to a phone that was charged with a wired connection?

      The 80% rule is more if you leave your phone unused, as its not healthy for a battery to stay at high or low percentages for a long time. However if you naturally go through the battery through the day and don't leave it full for many hours, then there's no harm in a 100% charge.

    hey man! im thinking you probably won't see this at this point, but i cannot find ANY helpful info on this. my MagSafe charges my phone RIDICULOUSLY too slow. i bought the ESR MagSafe with the kickstand on Amazon. i have a feeling its the box adapter thing that im using with it, which is the 20w (i think?) standard Apple one that used to come with the 11 & 12 phones.
    any advice? is there something i could be doing wrong?! THANK YOU 🖤🖤

    Great! I don't charge my iPhone overnight, I like to keep an eye on it so if something goes wrong I can immediately unplug it. I For me it depends on the iPhone model, the iOS version and the adapter being use IMO. I have an shortcut automation to alert me when my iPhone hits > 80% battery already so I can unplug it. I have intermittent sleep by the way.

    With 20w charger..using usb c..u need 72 mins from 0-100%. And from 20% to 80% only need 45 mins. So actually i never charge mine overnight. Because i only need 45 mins or less to charge my iphone. I charge it at 9pm. Before 10 already reach 80%. Then i sleep. In the morning usually less 1-2% only. So its okay for me. 😊
