Thank you I’m going to keep watching this over and over because of your knowledge of dogs. Thank you. I have an Australian shepherd. Living in the country people drop off cats and dogs, with that being said we inherited a a cattle dog. He is tenacious and my Aussie works at keeping him in line. What an interesting video. My Aussie is the thinker and pleaser, and our rescue cattle dog mix feels he’s the enforcer.I will say he does want to please us so when we correct him he is submissive.
Not a big story but when I was reading you comment it give me a wee glow... I lost my kelpie a couple of month ago and when you said about your rescue cattle dog feeling he's the "enforcer". Amber (kelpie) wasn't interested in any dog... just wanted to work... I was out one day and there was a rottweiler.. the biggest head I ever seen... his name was Milo... and 9 months old... and the two of them became the best pals. If there was any trouble in the park Milo would be there to break up any trouble.. he would be the enforcer.... and Amber would be there as back up if required... not that Amber was ever required. Once the trouble is over and they walk away.... Milo and Amber walking together.... and Amber would turn around with a couple of barks at he dog who started the trouble... saying "don't let it happen again!". Maybe she wasn't... once you get to know you dog... it's like you know what there saying... and vesa vesa.. they know ever word you say... 😂😂

I seriously love your videos. I’ve learned so much and appreciate how you pause and point out all the different body language signals that most of us never notice. It’s made me feel more confident when my own dog interacts with other dogs. I’m now aware that every growl is not going to escalate into a fight and such warnings shouldn’t be disciplined because they are actually the way dogs communicate to one another to avoid escalation. Thanks again for all the shared knowledge and for showing the correct way to handle socialization . ( people generally need more training than the dogs do.) 😅.
Hate when ppl just laugh when their dog is being an asshole. I have a small intact cavalier. The most friendly dog in the world imo. When he gets thrown through the air by big aggressive dog and the owner thinks it’s funny I get some nasty thoughts.
I am glad you explain what to look for in dog's who show good and bad behavior. So many pet owners needs to watch your videos and learn. Because you don't know anything about other dog's entering the dog park. If they are social dog's are not. Please pay attention to your dog at these dog park cause you never know if they will hurt or even kill you pet. If you dog stays with you at a dog park they may be looking for you to help protect them. Please know the signs you dog may be showing you.
Yo bro. Only just discovered your channel but you have taught me so much already. I appreciate the good work and I hope to have such a loyal dog like Ronin some day
The fact you interjected after Ronin stood his ground, shows the owner type you are (a good one), where as Heeler mix owner just stood on by and didn't even seem remotely bothered.
What a fantastic boy, Ronin!! I feel sorry for the Aussie mix (it's not a Heeler mix. They aren't Merle and that dog doesn't look Heeler to me at all) because obviously his owner is a total asshat and the poor dog is nervous because he has no boundaries 😢 Your video is amazing and so helpful! Thank you for pausing to show the different Dog body language and explaining what it means! I hope more people watch and learn to pay attention! So many issues could be avoided if people just knew what their dogs were saying
I hate it when people with dogs have 0 understanding about their behaviour. I mean Ronin show a lot of restraint. The other dog would have gotten attacked a lot quicker by a whole lot of other dogs. The control you have over him is really something tho.
Orange guy at 4:30 looked more intrigued by the camera but didn't like how ronin immediately got in his face? The orange dog for sure could of just came over to try and assert himself too, but when he walked away after the minor confrontation I feel like he didn't *want* an issue perhaps. I notice ronin is extremely pushy and maybe thats because he's a confident dog, but I do really like how the owner is aware of this and actually checks his dog
I want my 5 month old cockapoo to get familiar with other dogs but just watching this video makes me so nervous. Ronin is such a good playful boy and still get's into scuffles. Not to mention, he's a pretty big boy and dogs still test him, lol.
I wouldn't recommend to socialize your pup with dogs from strangers. Ask around for a stable dog with with a balanced demenor and socialize your pup with those. It's better he has a few positive experiences than a bad one. People can't read their dog and don't care if their dog behaves bad. It's especially dangerous if you have a small dog.
@Crystal F if you're nervous your dog will be nervous. Also, I'd caution you with your dogo being very young. Instincts to "protect him, pick him up" etc would be normal but could lead to disaster at a dog park. Check your community, you may find puppy play groups. Smaller, supervised play time with same age pups 🐕🐾💙
Perhaps the best and most safe way to socialize a puppy (or any dog) is just desensitizing them to every day stuff! Teaching a young pup to just peacefully co-exist with/near people and other dogs and is just so handy and can prevent many cases of reactivity:) And, just like the other comments said, avoid dog parks and find someone with a stable, tolerant dog and watch the interactions very closely!
@emily sayswords Thank you. I'm trying to teach him how to calm himself down when he sees new people and other pets now. He's such a friendly little nugget and wants to run up and kiss everyone, but of course, not everyone likes that. I'm kind of nervous taking such a big part that makes him so loveable away, but he for sure needs to be desensitized lol 😆 😅
I love your vlogs they actually teach me more stuff i should know about dogs because i own 1 myself shes 1 year old and she also has puppies and im trying to teach them! ❤
I can't stand incompetent dog owners like that who bring their dogs to the park, their dog instigates a fight and they DO NOTHING TO STOP THE BEHAVIOR. I think you did the right thing, I also let my Malinois correct other dogs when they do things like this. Good for Ronin for sticking up for himself, that Blue Heeler learned the hard way.
I wouldn’t discount healers, they go face to face with big bulls all day long and win. That guy should have never let that dog get to that point. Healers are part dingo and can be very aggressive for their size and weight.
You are perfect handler with pup. Most ordinary dog owners don't understand a mally is top dog always. Mine is rescue Akita 130# I wouldn't put against a mally, granted his bite is much more powerful. Belgium malinois is a top dog, I former gsd all my 50 years life.

@@thescurry You don’t know your dogs, do you? Heelers were bred to bite cattle in the back legs HARD. They have a bite force ranging from 200-400 PSI. Malinois are around 200.

my dog is way to dominant and strong to be at a dog park, not to mention he's never been "chill" with another dog before. he's a pitbull lab mix so like I said, he's really strong
And good for you for knowing his behavior & not taking him where he could become reactive. Wish more owners would pay more attention to their dogs mannerisms/behavior.
You have done amazing work with Ronin .. he is a beautiful dog and well behaved .. dog parks are so dicey .. some owners need to be checked like their dogs .. Ronin did a great job 🤩🐕
Good for Ronin. When a jerk owned does not correct his dog. Dog should be taken away. This is why I don't bother with dog parks. It only takes 1 jerk owner and your dog suffers.
I don't bother with dog parks either. There are so many bad owners who couldn't care less about socializing their dog. Even if my dog is a big one (Cane corso) I don't want to take the risk of a fight.
Its so good to see slow motion to see and understand what dog language actually looks like because in reality when your eyes are not spot on it is really hard to catch. Great to see how dogs communicate and how their signs show. Smh is the word since most owners get their dogs for fun or company with 0 knowledge and then let their dogs run free crying out loud when something happens without sense or understanding. Had a case here in my city and now the dog owner with the almost dead bitten dog is lying across the internet
Good on you and your pup for showing restraint in a potentially nasty situation. Had a similar thing happen on a first date once. My first time at a dog park, and for the most part everything was great. Right at the end though some fool showed up with an aggressive labradoodle that started trying to bite the girl's dog Fiona. I had to run the thing off and we decided to leave. As we're walking off the the lil creep (his name was Leo as I recall) runs up behind me and tries to bite my hand. Literally heard his teeth snap shut and felt his lips on my fingers. Had to run the thing off again smh. Some people just shouldn't own dogs.
@@jg7923 No. My feelings are based on my experiences, not the media's. And a good pittie owner recognizes that there's a lot of bad pittie owners out there. As there are among all breeds and all dog owners.
I dont know if that dog has any heeler in him, but he definitely has markings of Catahoula Leopard Dog, and his curled up tail is like a Spitz breed, a Husky, etc, not a heeler tail.. Heelers markings and coloring are very different from the gray base Catahoula's have.
@user-lx3th5on8l No it's not. They have about 10 toes on each paw to be able to grab onto the slippery rocks they have to traverse to get to the Puffins, and they are much smaller with different markings and fur.

Some of these interacts are actually adorable- my favourite being when the pitbull came up to ronan and there was tension, and then the black dogs comes to see what the drama is about 😂 such a human like behaviour
Throwing random dogs together is like putting random gang members into a small room. They might be bros or kill each other lol.
Ronin: “You’re lucky the humans are here or else I would’ve torn you to pieces”
Man you and your dogs are amazing, i learned so much from watching you channel.
Truly, Thank you!!!
Thanks again for sharing. So much to be learned. We have a boxer of about 3 years. Keep posting your videos!
I love how Ronin never start a fight😂
He is a well behaved trained dog :)
Best canine language videos ever. I look forward to more.
if a see another dog annoy my dog, i go over and give dem a push away and tells them that its not okay and polite behaviour. it usually helps.
Every dog park has at least 1 dog owner thats clueless..you and your dog should be applauded for being under control..
Very informative as always. Your videos help me in understanding my dogs behavior at the park.
@@johnw6389 I’m very sorry for your loss. The wonderful gifts of animals are they teach us so much and respect/love unconditional. I’m glad you got to witness a friendship Amber finally hand picked. I’m still learning about who my dogs are and how amazing they can grow to be more intelligent as I grow in intelligence and awareness to making a better pack. You are blessed by Amber and I’m sure she is still by your side faithfully.
Ronin is such a good boy. Amazing personality! You're blessed!
You have trained Ronin very well, it's great watching these videos.😊❤
At 9:07 bro really called ronin a dumba*s while he’s dog was literally trying to bite ronin in the face
Yea it's bullcrap that people don't redirect their dogs on that
It's bullshit and even I heard it and I was like "What the Fuck?"
The guy is a total jerk
@@ChristianPinnock-u5c ikr
He didn’t call ronin a Dumass he called his own dog that.
Impressive your dog listens to you even with all the doggies around.
Super travail de décryptage, passionnant ❤!
Man these dogs are lucky Ronin is such a nice gentleman. I mean that blue heeler would be a snack for him. Good on him and good on you
Do you know what a heeler is lol. That healer would drag that mal into deep water real quick
I appreciate the good work and I hope to have such a loyal dog like Ronin some day
Lesson...NEVER take your dog to dog park...its a fight ring!
Great looking dogs.
Others have said it: no ACD/heelers here. ❤
Such an incredible dog behavior channel. Thank you
The fact you interjected after Ronin stood his ground, shows the owner type you are (a good one), where as Heeler mix owner just stood on by and didn't even seem remotely bothered.
Thanks so much for the breakdown!!!
Always got to keep your eyes open... Some owners just let their dogs be terrible. They are always the victim when a dog won't put up with it.
Ronin could have had the blue heeler as a SNACK.
This is why I no longer go to dog parks, because people don’t control their dogs.
Watching this made me realize how short a dog's attention span is
Little does the other owner know ronin would make a chew toy out of that dog.
I wouldn’t discount healers, they go face to face with big bulls all day long and win. That guy should have never let that dog get to that point. Healers are part dingo and can be very aggressive for their size and weight.
That dog almost learned the fuck around and find out scale.
"F**k around find out* Mally edition.
Always the small dogs starting 💩 😂 glad no one was hurt tho
You are perfect handler with pup. Most ordinary dog owners don't understand a mally is top dog always. Mine is rescue Akita 130# I wouldn't put against a mally, granted his bite is much more powerful. Belgium malinois is a top dog, I former gsd all my 50 years life.
Everyone blaming Canela for having a Malinois.... you're so dumb. The heeler started the whole thing. You obviously did not watch the whole video and see the Malinois be friendly to every dog.
It's not a heeler, it's a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix.
I love this channel and how you handle and read dogs, it's amazing. I also love all of your doggos. Thanks man! Subscribed.

Stressful day at the park so many different personalities we have to cope with says the dog to himself.
I love the content you make it’s so educational
This is a walk through dog behaviour like I've never seen.they can turn In a second and be friends after....just shows how little I know about the canine in workings 💪
Heelers bite HARD. Glad Ronin didn’t get hurt
they bite like a toothless infant compared to a Malinois.
@@thescurry You don’t know your dogs, do you? Heelers were bred to bite cattle in the back legs HARD. They have a bite force ranging from 200-400 PSI. Malinois are around 200.
Ronin is a true alpha. Senses when other dogs are uncomfortable and chooses when to soften. But once a dog displays they are unfriendly he is unphased and pays them no mind, knowing he can easily defend himself, then ignores them. Love to see it. True confidence. 5:00 Walks right back up to him strong and confident but with space.
Have a woman who keeps bringing her aggressive Akita and her small 3year old son into the big dog side of the park. She lets both of them run around unsupervised. Have told her how dangerous it is for her son. She laughs it off and continues to bring him even though it is against the rules of the park. Uggg. We leave every time she shows up.
Glad you didn't punish Ronin for the interaction, it wasn't his fault. I kinda wish that dominant Pit had shown the Heeler some manners.
I have a malanios
These videos have taught me so much
my dog is way to dominant and strong to be at a dog park, not to mention he's never been "chill" with another dog before. he's a pitbull lab mix so like I said, he's really strong
GSD's never forget confrontations and who caused them. Ever. Have myself a " Ronin", total awesomeness.
Amazing dog you got man. Nice work
I’m love this channel i’m actually happy i found this channel
dogs are like people, sometimes you just gotta punch some people in the face
True and dogs have sympathies and antipathies just like people too.
Such a wonderful dog
Its so good to see slow motion to see and understand what dog language actually looks like because in reality when your eyes are not spot on it is really hard to catch. Great to see how dogs communicate and how their signs show. Smh is the word since most owners get their dogs for fun or company with 0 knowledge and then let their dogs run free crying out loud when something happens without sense or understanding. Had a case here in my city and now the dog owner with the almost dead bitten dog is lying across the internet
I like how the blue heeler owner called him a dumbass when he did nothing
It was a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix.
that little dog was so lucky ronin didnt want to bite their face of XD
Beautiful clever dog . There an athletic wolf . My favourite dog
Agree 100%
There's a LOT going on at the dog park.... Very cool to see from dog's POV.
It's ironic that the friendliest/coolest dog was a pit, but the other breeds started stuff.
Which pit? There were two purebreds and one mixed. The mixed black one was extremely friendly, as they tend to be when raised by excellent owners.
@@carolinematusevich889 @5:38 Just because the media and some people try to make them out to be bad dogs.
It's a Norwegian lundihund aka puffin dog I can tell
@user-lx3th5on8l No it's not. They have about 10 toes on each paw to be able to grab onto the slippery rocks they have to traverse to get to the Puffins, and they are much smaller with different markings and fur.
I'm very nervous when first meeting new dogs. I got bit by a big dog when I was 12 or 13. I still love dogs but it's hard to let go that fear. I'm hoping watching more of your videos will teach me how to recognize body language of a dog.
Just because they’re small doesn’t mean they can get away with it. Then they blame the big dog if they defend themselves🙄🙄🙄
Love your videos man. Super helpful on understanding dog body language. Keepem coming… 😊
