My stock 01 Z06 went 12.61 @ 113 right off the highway at 2500 DA. That was the only time i ran it at the track. Once and done. My GTI traps 114 on my dragy at 6000 ft elevation lol newer turbo cars rip
Love your license plate! I have the exact same car color and all minus the stripes and on those tires and wheels ran a best of 12.69. I did a wheel swap and put ZL1 wheels and Goodyear F1 Supercar tires all way around and have gone 12.28 so far with no other mods. Im trying to get in the 11's totally stock before I put my Procharger on. Fyi Im at about 640 feet DA . I will say that this car is so much fun. Best bang for the buck! I have a full out 4.30 1/8 mile race car and I have lots more fun with the Camaro. Buy them while you can !!!!!!
your shifting is right on par. your camaro has a lot more in it. a friend has a 2021 auto, all stock and runs low 12's though his car is a bit stripped, hardly any options. great job on this brother..really enjoyed it. props.
The auto get low 12’s bc of the gearing ratios but a stock lt1 is capable of doing an 11.8! My buddy ran that tonight and I ran a 12.4 in my manual lt1
Looks like he slamming the shifter like he trying to break it lol but I get it he trying to shift quickly as possible. Would automatic be much quicker than manual?
Great video, thanks for sharing! You've inspired me to start taking videos of my track antics lol thanks for the details on the setup. I also have a bone stock LT1 manual (2020). Went to Island Dragway yesterday and in -887 DA (low 40s temp, 29.8 barometer etc), ran a 12.322 @ 117.01 (60' = 1.983).
I bet there's a little bit more that you can knock down, your short shifting er a little bit and some better tires for a better launch. but for a bone stock car those are still very solid runs!
Nice car. I got a 2010 CHallenger 6spd 5.7 Procharged. Bought it new, it's nowhere near stock. Only 30k miles. Looks so good, sounds so good, I cant part with it. Other cars are an 07 Si and 2018 Elantra Sport DCT with D.P. intake and tune. Pretty quick for what it is.
Not a bad collection. I wish the chargers came in manuals. Those 8th Gen Si's are pretty dope. What do you think of the new Elantra N's? Those things are pretty impressive with the DCT.
And if your not familiar with this kind of driving and on street tires, warm them with light wisps of smoke. Lower tire pressure in rear, start at 32 psi and experiment down to 27 or 28 psi on street rubber.
I've Driven stick for enough time. Everything you suggested was done. You're not gonna do too much better than mid to high 12s in this car bone stock, in Texas heat and humidity. It was the first time I took this car to the track.
Yea, the feature is built in from the factory. Apparently it cuts timing though, so if you're capable of banging gears pretty quickly without it, it may be faster to do so. Only works when you're full throttle though, and at or around 6000 rpms. It's not something I would use every day though.
With a "fantaseal Smartphone Action Camera Motion Camcorder Car Headrest Mount" I got from Amazon for like $20 (14.91 right now). Used my Galaxy S22 Ultra, with ultra wide lens.
Hey bro you’re shiftings pretty good but try waiting till that limiter stretches out a bit more bc you’re shifting a bit early. That gap makes a huge difference. I have a stock 2021 manual lt1 and ran a 12.6 at 115 and a 12.4 at 114. And they could be lower! My first time ever at the track! And Unless you get a drag pack there’s no point in using launch control in these cars.
@GoDsSoN770 yeah track conditions can make a big difference in your run. my friend gas a set of track slicks he let me borrow for a few runs. 11.42 was my best. stock she runs low 12' s my best stock was 12.04
So someone tell me what's wrong with my LT1....The runs shown here are pretty mundane-looking but if I try to do it the back end wants to lose traction and slide left. The car shown here seems to be straight as an arrow.
Yea, depends on the surface. Cause I tried a run on a different road, and same thing happened, bunch of slipping, and back-end started sliding out when I went WOT.
If you never been to a drag strip.. its so sticky that you have to tie your shoes super tight or it will pull them off your feet.. On a public road, its not even near that, so it takes some skill to leave quickly without wheel spin.. Hold your traction control button till traction and esc is off, then learn to launch with limited spinning.. you want a bit of wheel speed, ie very slight hazing of the tires but not full on spinning.. If it dead hooks, that's too slow too.. It takes a lot of practice, people think being good at drag racing is easy, its not just smashing the gas and holding on.. And a manual makes it even more of a skill. It took hundreds of passes to get it right with my 21 1LE.. I have been racing stick shift for nearly 20yrs, and all cars are a bit different.
Agreed. My best times are when I rev my 2021 6 speed manual LT1 right to redline. Best so far with e85, a tune and 275 drag radials has been 12.06 and 12.07, with ZERO weight reduction
@@LT1_Danny I was at Island Dragway yesterday with my 2020 LT1 6-speed. Bone stock, ran 12.322 @ 117.01 w/ a 1.983 60'. -887 DA. Automatics have no problem running 12.2s stock. Manual SSs with stock summer tires have no problem running 12.2s stock. Manual LT1s with all-seasons like mine? I just don't see it. I would've needed a 1.8x 60' to get a 12.2. Do you *really* think that's possible on the stock all-seasons? Because I don't see how LOL
Son you NEED to learn how to drive a stick and once you pass the huge score boards, your past the 1/4, no need to stay in it unless you want to run off end of track or destroy your brakes.
Your takeoffs are just slow. Should take it out of T/C and manually control the throttle to manage wheel spin. T/C just slows your takeoffs until its just embarassing.
that first shift surprised me i even said "god damn", u remind me of my dad, he ripped the shift knob off leaving the porsche dealer
Great job! Thanks for taking us along for the ride...great perspectives!
nice i got a bone stock 2022 lt1 as well, but its auto. nice to see some action on the track with it

Nice run man, shifted like a boss. Madd props.
Appreciate that buddy!
But thays not how to shift properly, quickly. It needs to be more wrist flick than arm wrestle to break the shifter, lol. Geeeez .

Automatic is two to three tenths faster.
Don’t these have “no lift shift” where it allows you after 5k rpm to not lift your foot from the gas to shift?
insane shifting brother, LOVED IT!

I believe it’s a feature gm added protect the drive train so should be safe.
Your 2ed to 3ed shift is very odd looking...but it works for you...nice pass
I thought the same thing. Seemed a bit uncomfortable.
How’s your in car camera mounted?🙏🏻

definitely low 12's at sea level
This is Texas, so it's a little over sea level, but very hot and humid.
That nls don't sound good.seems like the car disagrees
