Exactly!! I love Kami, King Kai and Kaio shin, but their title of "Gods" or "Godly being" always bugged me since they weren't anything more than knowledge and training for Goku and crew, they weren't really strong (compared to the Z fighters and the enemies at the time)
Meh, I didn't really like thier inclusion after BOG. I mean they were fun but I think they hurt the story in some areas like when it comes to stakes in arcs like ROF.
@@spritvio639 That's the point of them "not being able/allowed to be involved" in things, which is why Beerus doesn't go fight Broly nor fight Moro, which keeps the stakes normal, as in up to Goku and Vegeta
@@BrymalDX I know, I get that but personally I still feel like Beerus and Whis still take away alot of the stakes and tension in the arcs of Super. It varies on how much like in the TOP where they are more or less forced into the sidelines the issue isn't really a thing but in arcs like Moro where these two are shown constantly (especially during moments that are supposed to be full of tension like UI Omen Goku getting destroyed by Morro), on earth and have occasionally lines of maybe jumping in for earth's food. Takes alot of the tension, I mean the villan doesn't really look as threatening when the audience is constantly being reminded that 3 feet away from the fight there are 2 powerful god characters that might step in (And have or wanted to in the past.).

Beerus is easily the best character to be introduced in DBS. He's one of the best parts of it.

@@JuanGonzalez-vn7zg They never state that Gods of Destruction can only be linked with one Supreme Kai. All we were told is that Gods of Destruction are linked to their Supreme Kai. So all we know officially is that Beerus currently is only linked with the Supreme Kai Shin.
I believe they even say that Old Kai no longer has the position of Supreme Kai. It’s possible that the title comes along with the link. But that’s just speculation on my part.
@@ftsvectors2164 why limit it to just 1 kai when there are multiple? That way it would be fitting that he sealed 1 in a sword to keep at least 1 of them safe and as extenction himself alive during his overly long naps.

Beerus and Whis are two of the greatest additions to The franchise since maybe Future Trunks back in Z and I’m glad Toriyama had a hand in his character and not that shitty idea they had before sounds like something the fans would come up with

@@SwaggGoddLogan I think his point isn't about the quality. I like reading the fan mangas, but most of the time they're way too dark/mature for Dragon Ball. Not to say Dragon Ball can't get dark, but that they don't make sense when compared to the actual series. Even the good ones most of the time give us a Moro type villain. They're meant to instill fear into the fans and characters, then be beaten by the end. It's a cool character with not a lot of substance. A lot of them feel like fan fiction, which they are, but Super feels like it still is inside the world of Dragon Ball.

Considering Beerus recently insisting Vegeta go back to to his evil ego, I wonder if they’ll bring the idea that Beerus inadvertently made the Saiyans think evil is “good.”
Beerus is right up there with frieza as my favorite character in the series.

I’m actually glad we got the Beerus we have now instead of the absolute evil originally intended. However, I think DBS could use a virus like villain. Baby was one of the best things about GT, and in my opinion the best villain since Frieza. I wouldn’t mind Super finally moving past DBZ and introducing a villain capable of universal viral destruction.

Dope video brotha! Also keep in mind the battle of gods 70% statement from Beerus was changed in DBS. When Whis brought it up to Beerus as they left earth, we found out Beerus lied to Goku just to get him to go full out.

Tbf, the Supreme Kais aren't slouches, either. The majority of them would've been able to tangle with the likes of Perfect Cell and Dabura, with the stronger ones being able to fodderize villains at that level. Zamasu, in particular, would've been strong enough to fight or even defeat Buu before he even touched a Dragon Ball.

Beerus using 70% of his power was only relevant to the end of the fight when he threw the ki attack that crushed SSG Goku easily. Not sure why it gets said that Beerus went 70% for that fight when during the fight he clearly held back.

But beerus didn't go till there at all in battle of Gods..

Shadow Dragon toppo was just god of destruction canadit and didn’t go his full power as if he did vegta frieza and Android 18 would be erased he also held back because he even told frieza right then and there he could of killed him and I doubt he passed any god of destruction as he didn’t finish training

I feel like it's not hard for them to explain the multiple Supreme Kai's of U7, but they just haven't.

The way I'd do it is to say that they could of all just been candidates for the position(similar to Zamasu), but Elder Kai was sealed away before any of them could officially take over the position so they just worked together(all of them were on the level of a Supreme Kai just not singularly recognized).
Shin could of been brought in in order for U7 to finally have a singular Supreme Kai.
While he was being trained by the others the terror of Majin Buu struck leaving Shin not fully trained, and scared, which is why he didn't get involved in Universal affairs until the threat of Majin Buu loomed over his head once again.
This would also explain why Elder Kai is still teaching things to Shin even now.
I'm pretty sure the bit about Shin's training is already the case(I don't remember exactly), so I think it'd fit in pretty well.
While I'm at it I'm going to just throw in one more random "retcon fix", because why not?
The reason Elder Kai thought the Potara fusion would be permanent(even for mortals)was because that was originally how they functioned, but while he was sealed it changed(he was wearing the same earrings so I guess the magic itself would of had to change not the actual earrings).
I always took it as the supreme Kai was so powerful that majin buu was only able to contain not kill him that’s why he was able to over take fat buu.
Nah beerus is definitely above goku. with all the implications in the manga, beerus training vegeta to be as strong as current MUI goku in mere weeks, and now an interview with Toyotaro where they essentially mention goku still hasn’t surpassed beerus think it’s safe to say vegeta and goku both still have some ways to go before they surpass beerus.
Also don’t forget the 70% thing was for the movie only and was stated YEARS ago, I don’t take article or v jump statements very seriously since a lot of times they either get retconned or were never correct in the first place (example being the jiren “surpassing the gods” statements).

I’m okay with them NEVER surpassing Beerus to be honest. It’s cool to know that are higher beings in the universe that are just out of reach for mortals like Goku and Vegeta no matter how many transformations they get. It makes it scary , cause we would have a being that will ALWAYS be stronger than them but it’s also an ally and a bit of a mentor that is always watching más can’t get involved inorganic conflicts

I like that lizard Beerus idea. Could be a great idea for a movie or arc, but only if the saiyans he corrupts will be actually powerful like Goku Black and not just be tools like in the Baby arc.
I always thought that the whole dinosaur thing was just Beerus absentmindedly confusing earth with another planet with dinosaur, lol.
I loved his overall performance in the Battle of Gods movie (except the petty temper). His facial expression are enjoyable to watch, showing his comedic traits.
I agree that Beerus is more of a measuring stick for Goku, Vegeta, and now Broly.
Always pisses me off that Dragon Ball will never give us the backstory of so many characters such as Lord Beerus and Jiren The Grey.
When you combine the anime and manga's information, Jiren actually has plenty of backstory, although only discovered through statements of third parties and not expanded upon.
I mean Beerus sealed Old Kai in the z sword and gave Frieza permission to destroy the saiyans because they annoyed him.

Could just be my head cannon, but for me it's extremely hard to believe Goku has passed Beerus in strength. Despite mastering UI. I just feel like in the future more will be revealed about Beerus still training, maybe mastering UI himself. His version of UI could be stronger than Goku for all I know. That's just me though. I don't debate about it though cause it's not stated, but just something I personally believe.
I agree 👍 and I think he's been holding back how strong he really is to keep Goku and Vegeta on their paths to higher power .
I think it be terrible writing if goku surpases him . I like the fact that Beerus is a “game changer “ for goku. A guy who will ALWAYS be more powerful despite anything goku does because he’s an actual deity and goku at the end of the day is just a mortal.
I like that goku and vegeta can be “humbled” by higher gods that are there to remind them that no matter how strong they get, there are other beings occupying a higher plane of existence and power (GoDs, angels, grand priest , Zeno)

My guess is him and his brother have been rivals since they were young, trying to out do the other. Getting stronger and stronger one became a G.O.D. then other one did too, continuing their rivalry.
But now that they've become gods of destruction, they can't even fight each other, which makes them extremely bored. And they basically just sleep and eat all the time now, with Beerus being more on the sleep side and Champa on the eat side.
Oh this should be interesting, always been curious about Beerus' past and I'm sure Geekdom won't disappoint
Beerus is my favorite character and one of the reason i still found DBS (Even with my annoyances i have about DBS) an excellent continuation of Dragon Ball franchise. Just the fact he's based of a cat that's very special and similar to Anibus, the egyptian god of death and the underworld makes him more interesting. I hope, at some point, he get to see his extent as a god because i think we deserve for how much people love him now.
I remember when I was in 7th grade when xenoverse 1 came out i graduated high school 5 months ago and still to this day the thing that triggers me about that game is beerus said before destruction comes creation

Beerus-sama's introduction in Dragonball Z Battle of Gods was legendary a very iconic DBZ anime moment. He was powerful, smart, and had a strong energy around him.

i dont think beerus has any emotion or thought that could question his decision or hold him back from doing something coz thats one characteristic of GoD same thing that he was trying to teach vegeta in order to achieve that power and beerus maybe millions or thousands of years old so he just completely forgoted what emotion is thats why he so carefree and lazy he only reacts when someone threatens his position or his universe or disrespects him

11:55 This... is outdated. I didn't think you'd use the 2013 BoG scaling to touch up on whether Goku surpassed Beerus by now. That's literally from the point where, if Toriyama scaled Beerus at a 10, SSG Goku would've been a 6, which is most likely why Beerus stated he used 70% power in the movie. This should no longer apply in the anime where Goku would've long surpassed Beerus if that were ever the case.
Anyway, I'm just surprised you based a point off of older information, but as usual this was a great addition to the series. Love the video!

In Polish version of the manga Beerus is called Piwus, which is a pun on the word "piwo", meaning "beer".
I can't really imagine Dragon Ball without Whis/Beerus at this point. In terms of character design they are some of favorites just by their unique look/design is much different from the rest of the Dragon Ball cast, right down to their clothes.
I think you could relate this mistry to a statement said by a character who was in a similar position from a different anime , Yu Yu Hakusho . Sensui said to yusuke " if we could measure our difference in power your's would fill a lake but mine would fill the ocean ".

That concept was used for how Vegeta had the ability to reach the Ultra Ego power. Having God of Destruction power within him.
The killed soul likely goes somewhere. Remember what King Kai said about what would happen if they're killed a second time? "If they're killed again they won't exist in this dimension anymore!" - King Kai.
He meant they cease to exist. That’s what Goku told Vegeta.

Makes you wonder how the life-link between Beerus and Shin works. GoD seem to come from mortal candidates if Toppo is any indication, whereas Kaioshins are born(e) from a tree. Is there some sort of ritual performed by the angels or Zeno to then link the 2 together? The link seems more natural for Piccolo and Kami since they were the same being at first.
The twin universes are actually triplets. There are 12 now and there were originally 18.

I think Beerus is a great addition. Everyone besides Goku and maybe Vegeta is always gonna be a side character. And that's fine. Supreme Kai and all the Kais have fallen into obscurity. But they played their part in every arc that they are involved in. Beerus and Whis are doing that too. To say that Beerus is just boring and doesn't do anything... He does plenty. A lot more than any of the previous characters. Appearing as a "villain" in BoG, he then becomes a mentor and has helped a whole lot in developing the story. Measuring stick for the saiyans, sure. But they need one. I really don't have a problem with anything Beerus is involved in.
