thanks, but don't look for any rhyme or reason to the cables in this video, i just plugged most of them in for a splash of visual color. just one midi cable and 2 audio cables are really needed for this configuration.
thanks for your videos, need a question, we have in sync digitakl with A4 AND monomachine, but when change patter not change the kit. example digitakt bank A1 (KIT DUB) TO A4 BANK A1 (KIT DUB) (SAME NAME OF KIT IN ALL MACHINES) JUMP TO : BANK B5 DIGITAKT (KIT HOUSE) TO A4 B5 (KIT HOUSE) NOT CHANGE TO A KIT HOUSE ONLY SYNC PATTERNS NOT KIT? THANKS AND SORRY FOR MY POOR WORDS
not sure i understand the question, but i think your issue is the kit-pattern relation with each elektron. the a4 (and rytm) can share kits between patterns. so you can assign kit 1 to a bunch of patterns, which is cool because you can mess with the sound and there won't be a jump in sound when you switch patterns. digitakt does not, it has one kit per pattern and will instantly jump to whatever kit was saved with that pattern last. if you want to switch kits on the a4 when you switch patterns you have to make a new kit for it and save it as new and assign it. i prefer the rytm/a4 method because the sound stays constant from pattern to pattern (unless i don't want it to) and i can constantly mess with the parameters and when i want i can instantly revert to the original sound.
Hello! You're jam is very nice Bravo :D I have the same machine, and i can not connect them like you. So please :') How do you do ? (setup, configuration.. ) i need to know!!
Skøre hi. Thanks. It looks more complicated than it is, most of those cables are just for show, for color haha. All you need is a midi cable from a4 out to digitakt in (i used a4 as master to take advantage of it’s song mode). And audio out of digitakt into a4 audio in. Just setup a4 to send program changes and digitakt to receive.
Nice video man, random question. ive recently got the digitakt and thinking of buying a a4 later on becaus they seem to work really great with eachother. My main question is if you can use filters/fx as sends to digitakt? basicly processing the drums from digitakt with A4? :)
thanks, yes. if you go in to the audio input of the a4 you can give up 2 of the voices by using the audio in instead of the internal osc's and use the od, filters etc. everything. or you can keep the 4 a4 voices and use the audio in as an aux input which bypasses the od and filters, but you are able to apply the chorus, delay and reverb.
How do you like this setup? I have a Digitakt / Digitone setup. I just can’t get into the Digitone sound. I was thinking of getting the MK1 A4 instead. A4 as the master. They work well together? Nice vid.
Hi there, very nice. Have you programmed songs in both devices? Or is it on one device and the other is somehow doing the same? Don’t understand yet how to arrange a song, just doing patterns and switch back and forth... THANKS man
hey man, sorry i missed this. i am using the 8 tracks of the digitakt and the 4 channels of the a4. digital would have all drums and maybe some melodic part (i forget, it's been a while) and the a4 would be the bass and maybe a pad or 2. both are synced with midi. digitakt as master
888berg hey thanks, all that’s just for aesthetics, if i remember correctly it’s just stereo audio from one to the other and midi. I just thought the colors looked cool 😎
nice jam! what os is your digi on? i'm trying to get pgm ch to work in my setup. But using digi as the master. I've set autoch to 9 on both machines, but pgm ch is not working properly. Sometimes works on changing patterns, and most times not. Then I have to push a trig on the track i use to send pgm ch on the digi to get the a4 on the right pattern.. Got any tips for me? Gonna try using the a4 as master, see if that flips things around..
We Island thanks. Definitely make the a4 the master since it has song mode and the digi doesn’t. Not sure what os the digi was on (don’t have it anymore). Setup the a4 as pgm change send and the digi as receive and it should work regardless of auto channel
So if you switch to pattern A1 on the analog 4 does the digitakt switch to pattern A1 as well? That's the part that's unclear to me. Thanks for responding!
Funkbutterfly yes. Whatever pattern you switch to on the a4 (manually or in song mode) and the digitakt will follow. If you are on b2 and switch to b4 they both switch at the same time.
Ashi Taaka thanks, the a4 is setup as master clock and program change. Both units have their own sequence and i am using the a4’s song mode to progress the song. Digitakt audio goes through a4 audio in.
no, i never had stability problems. you might have to configure the pattern quantization (that it switches when pattern ends, etc). it might be be switching after 1 step or something like that which would throw it all off.
in settings you need to setup a4 to send transport and program change etc. and in dt you need to set up to receive all that. not infront of the a4 at the moment, but should be in the global area.
Whilst the sound is OK ,like many house genres of music I find the overall track way to repetitive. Though judging by the house music scene repetition is in whilst evolving music is not conceived of.
"beauty of simplicity" Or the delusion that simplicity exists for the sake of peace of mind ;-). I.e - atoms are anything but "simple". Actually though , on re-listen I'm quite into the track. The only subjective aspect of music, the "I" (mood etc). The physics remain comparably constant.
I think I understand what your getting at. In that the finer detail of some thing perceived.e.g. A leaf maybe overlooked by many. However, due to differences in individuals characters (and cognitive ability), some may lean more towards the subjective aesthetic ( pleasing to behold) beauty of a leaf whilst another many lean more towards the actual objective functional aspect of the leaf.i.e. Photosynthesis ( what the actual leafs purpose is for a plant). The view which is more "right" depends on the context. For example, if your studying the ecology of a forest ecosystem (maybe in order to provide evidence why forests shouldn't only be viewed by society as a product (timber etc), then objectively gathered information (science) can be used in order to help society comprehend (using reason) why mass deforestation isn't a wise idea ( however that evidence may not be comprehended and/or ignored due to monetary bias) . On the other hand, a artists could use poetry in order to describe the aesthetic value (beauty) of the forest. The above forest analogy could also be used with the appreciation of music. Whilst some may enjoy music only through a subjective experience ( I like this sound though I don't question why I like it. " It simply sounds good") ) . Others ( music producers etc) may also enjoy music due to it's objective complexity (Musical acoustics) and comprehend why sounds effect our subjective experience so profoundly (or not). As evolutionary psychology makes more head way into understanding linguistics and human nature in general (speech, emotions ect) more maybe revealed about how music effects our cognitive functions and explain why music (a form of language/ communication) evolved thus how music can be used more precisely as a "artistic tool".
Awesome, I can feel some Kiasmos vibes in this jam 🙃 cheers
Nice work.
excelente
Thank You. It's great to listen to your music and the color of you cables. Shows me how to hook up my equipment!

Very nice, usually i dont like deep house but here it's so good
THOM AlphaXIII thanks! Not sure what genre it is.
Great sound... Love that bass
a4 has monster bass
@@stemshade3108 I am desperately searching for one to buy!
That is excellent. Love the moment at 2:17

it was fun, don't have them anymore but you get 12 channels between them. the a4 has great sounds

Nice where are the cables from ?
thanks, standard patch cables. i think from sam ash
this is a thing great bass/kick , is it polyphonic?
ok read the description
=hey : Do you use cv to produce sounds ?
Synergy Y have never used cv. Will give it a go soon with my moog sub phatty
Hi !
But here on the video, CV gate are connected to digitakt input ... ?:)
Am thinking about this one too ... :)
Oh yeah haha, that’s all for visual flair
Awesome vid! How easy is it to send pattern changes to digitakt? How would you set that up?
thanks! super easy, in the global settings you set up the a4 to send program changes, and setup the digitakt to receive. that's it.
So if you switch to pattern A1 on the analog 4 does the digitakt switch to pattern A1 as well? That's the part that's unclear to me. Thanks for responding!

Ok thanks again! My A4 is in the mail but can't wait to get my hands on it!
sorry but i don't have any way to measure this accurately. dimensions listed on the site should be perfect though.
Nice track. Are you sequencing a4 with Digitakt? And are the 2 machines connected toogether (except for midi) ? Can you explain?

Constructive criticism :-) . Far more worthwhile than just saying this is "cool", as constructive dialogue helps us share our ideas.
