This is what is meant when people refer to these "boxes" as instruments. It's more than just "pressing buttons". This is masterful. Playing Liszt's "La Campanella" is nothing more than pressing 88 long rectangular buttons arranged in a row.
Are you saying any person that is able to press 88 long rectangular buttons arranged in a row can just create a masterpiece out of nowhere without any understanding of composition, harmony, countepoint developed through years of study and practice?
Anyone with an Octatrack just shat themselves thanks to the sheer speed and confidence this guy works the machine with. The scene changes as an effects selector was amazing as well. Bravo, good sir.
Thanks Cenk for the great tutorial!! There is so much info and inspiration packed in the 27 minutes, I will watch it over and over again! Great to hear that you will create more tutorials in future!
OOOOH!! Can’t wait to level up on that tutorial! Been on the Digitakt for the last year and just had to step up to Octatrack! It’s everything I ever hoped for and I’m diving in deep after I get scratching and general dj’ing down. Can’t wait to be able to mangle live samples from my Dad’s killer guitar riffing! Going to be a blast into the next dimension!
This is incredibly good! And the TB-03 sound so lovely after the Heat processing. Also a great idea to have the in-depth tutorials on Bandcamp, kör hårt Cenk!
I just bought this - I don't even own an Octatrack. It's awesome to see in detail how Cenk thinks about constructing tracks live. He's only asking £5 on bandcamp for this, it's a steal for the knowledge in it. Cenk, please make more of these. Support your local Dataline!!
In case anyone was wondering if making electronic with hardware could be more fun than using a laptop, the answer is plainly evident in this video. Excellent performance, too!
i bought the OT hoping it would be the source of my sounds and i would just play samples, but after seeing this i'm really reconsidering my setup and thinking about including a couple of external gear as well!
Thanks! TR09 sounds good because it runs through the Octatrack Compressor and EQ. Thats where I boosted its signal. Then everything goes through the Analog Heat. I have shown these details in the Tutorial video uploaded on bandcamp!
Unifono2012 yes thats right! Very similar setup and process with volcas! Thank you for the support!! Planning to have tutorial video for every video i put out ;)
This is awesome work ive finally got enough money to get a rig going for electronic music and the octatrack looks awesome as the technology advances it will be more and more possible to do live electronic music that is so varied and dynamic, think of a central box with a step sequencer plus 16 pads that you can use both at the same time with other boxes that you can hook up that allow for sonic manipulation far beyond what we see here.
Look at my latest video i plugged my laptop into my bass amp and it just knocks, cant wait to get a midi controller and really get some analog tone out of a digital sequencer
Tomasz Szymanek to me it sounded like there was way too many gimmicks being used, it kills the flow of the music, also would be a very awkward to dance to. Just because there are all these gimmicks on the Octa doesn’t mean you have to use all of them all the time, it gets tedious after a while.
Awesome! This proves that drums and bass are the heart of all music. You can knock out some wicked beats on just the Elektron A4 or Rytm for a one piece jam machine.
I got the tutorial, very easy to follow, concise and clear.. Thanks very much! Waiting on the shipping of my MKii, but I think I'm already getting a handle on parts v patterns and how to set up for live resampling thanks to your good work. I'm curious.. Each OT pattern can have a different part number assigned, so why wouldn't you change the pattern rather than the part? you can have pattern 1 running part 1 clean, then patterns 2-16 running part 2, that way any extra triggers etc will be gone when you switch back to pattern1-part1?
i thought this was youtube not pornhub

La Campanella sounds like good music. This sounds like a fax machine.
Naaaiiiled it!!!! 💣

the part where he starts to re-sequence what he just sampled is where my brain melts.
Thanks Cenk for the great tutorial!! There is so much info and inspiration packed in the 27 minutes, I will watch it over and over again! Great to hear that you will create more tutorials in future!
I didn't appreciate how skilled you are at this until I tried to do something like this myself. It's impossible.
PREACH!
Dude this maybe my favorite jam you've ever done...holly snap!!
OOOOH!! Can’t wait to level up on that tutorial!

In case anyone was wondering if making electronic with hardware could be more fun than using a laptop, the answer is plainly evident in this video. Excellent performance, too!

Amazing. I wish I could figure how to use my octatrak beyond just simple beats. This is inspiring.
it's a long, steep learning curve, but rewards are vast...

This is crazy good!
I love acid bass!

Pretty sick. Time for me to hit the octatrack manual again and jam.
Best I've Ever Seen.
Just bloody awesome! If I could buy your skills with the machine I’d be sorted.
This is great music dude
Keep practicing and working on good tunes like this
New look is very appealing.
Nasty! I'd like to hear more about the way you set up your tracks on the OT. Heading to bandcamp now 👍
Outstanding
This is very impressive ...
master work!!
This is the next level.
Masterful.
Du är ju kung.
Insane skill. Great choice of gear to do this with.
Top gear, top musician!
This is so incredibly amazing. F cking excellent job. Just wow.
Incredible!
You definitely got skills. Maad noiice!
Great performance. Very interesting. The TR09 sounds pretty great here to me
Thanks! TR09 sounds good because it runs through the Octatrack Compressor and EQ. Thats where I boosted its signal. Then everything goes through the Analog Heat. I have shown these details in the Tutorial video uploaded on bandcamp!
thanks. ok. Watched the tutorial. Quite a lot processing on the Rolands.
The tutorial is really great btw. Appreciate the insights! I guess you had it set up pretty similar in the old OT Video with the Korg Volcas.
Unifono2012 yes thats right! Very similar setup and process with volcas! Thank you for the support!! Planning to have tutorial video for every video i put out ;)
MrDataline that's great to hear. always was hoping for some more dataline OT content ☺

Nice track bro!
Clicked the video, watched it, and thought to myself "wow this guy is good"... then I looked down and realised it was MrDataline, the king himself!
Great fun from Mr. Talent!
if im lucky, mr talent will rub his tentacles on my art
Nice and crispy
Your music is amazing 😉!!!!
That video is so amazing, I sincerely hope that the author is fully aware of how impressive his work is.

Charles Henderson 200 IQ
@@Kung_Fu_Jesus you do know who made this video right? literally showing off all of the "gimmicks" an octatrack has.
@@Kung_Fu_Jesus it‘s a demonstration of the power of the Octatrack DYNAMIC sampler, not for the dancefloor
beautiful.
Great beats
Awesome! This proves that drums and bass are the heart of all music. You can knock out some wicked beats on just the Elektron A4 or Rytm for a one piece jam machine.
This is knowing how to play your instrument, the same as a pianist or a guitarist.
This video convinced me to buy Elektron gear
Very nice!!!
Slayed it Maaaan!!!!
awesome!
Just awesome

nice vibe!
I got the tutorial, very easy to follow, concise and clear.. Thanks very much!
