Very interesting and innovative update. If Insta's reading this here's my first thoughts: Great features all round, good quality. Hopefully footage can be extracted without installing any special software. I would rather see a darker colour (charcoal/grey) with an accent stripe so that it doesn't stand out as much on the helmet but I can still find it in a dark bag. I would rather trade waterproof for a micro SD card slot as I would get a much better deal storage-wise and can quickly switch cards during a long roadtrip.

I have Go 2 and had some heat issues but cool little camera. The remote screen is quite handy.

I wonder , how does it cope with winds when walking for example? I know blogging with my iPhone for example is a complete disaster. If someone farts closely it's gonna distort my sound as it's that sensitive. 🙂
Almost perfect. But why wouldn’t they allow a direct audio input? If it had an audio input it would be the perfect camera, especially for motovlogging.

How did you mount it to your helmet? And what is your helmet mount?
I think it would be perfect for moto vlogging! mount cam on helmet or wherever, put the holder on the phone holder... then you can see what it is recording, and easy to start and stop the recording. just need to know if you can use a Bluetooth external mic

I'm looking to replace my iffy gopro 7 ( so much footage lost recently ) , and the action 3 was in the front. Your video came out and the idea of a small camera like the go3 was exactly what I felt i needed. Until the sticker shock. yeh no. The osmo action 3 is the better option here. yes its bulkier but I cant see other than form factor, the go 3 being as good as the osmo in any other way.
So my idea for a review now that you have pretty much all the cameras an aspiring motorbike cam vlogger person wants is :
If you are a person, who has saved your spare coin for around 6 months or so for a main camera that can achieve 80 - 90 percent of what you are able to achieve ( drone footage not withstanding ), which camera would you choose as your A action do it all camera ?
Reckon its going to be the osmo.
This is better than Go 2 in every way. I love my Go 2, but I want to sell it to get the new one. Also, some comparisons to GoPro 11 claim that the Go 3 shoots longer and has fewer (or none at all) issues with overheating, which is very important for static timelapse shooting.
I am using an Insta360 X3 with a Saramonic BT mike for moto vlogging. Since the go3 does not allow for wireless mike connection (which is a big drawback for me), how is the audio quality while riding when using a helmet chin mount? Is that acceptable?

There is no slot to plug in a bluetooth microphone, I can connect to cardo. Is it possible to record audio?

The Go3 is a very versatile action cam. I plan to get one for my motorcycle rides as well. I do hope the next version gets an external mic jack & better low light performance.
Audio was my concern as well .
@@Rbj4525 Yeah, at speed the wind noise without an external mic will probably be unusable. But as a second camera or if you sync it with an audio recorder, it’s great. This paired with either the INSTA360 ace pro or INSTA360 X3 with audio would be perfect. Haven’t tried the Ace Pro yet, but the X3 is my favorite for mounting on a bike because you don’t have to worry about framing & have unlimited framing options later when editing. 👍🏼

No one shows us how this camera would sound inside the helmet. Does it affect the sound at different driving speeds with the helmet closed? I don't understand why no one tries this, it could be a perfect motovlog camera
So have you tried mounting it INSIDE a motorcycle helmet (for a day at the track on a supersport - anyone done this) ? Cant have anything mounted to outside of helmet, and any external bike mounted camera must be safety wired - anybody done track days with this?
It seems pricey for what it is. I watched this thinking, "Oh, a small and inexpensive alternative. "

if your battery runs out, can you record while charging the action pod? How quickly can you off load the internal memory?
The camera module will record while charging in the Action Pod, not sure if the action pod will charge while recording. And it’s not super quick to offload over usb-c. Another review said about we-wt min for about 30gb.

The 360° cameras by this manufacturer have a different name, the Go camera series is and never was 360°.

The small camera is waterproof to like 16 feet... the holder with screen is water resistant. So, can get a little splash, but avoid getting it wet if you can

Love the features but too damn expensive for the memory you get. For the $400 I'm expecting 500GB, not the measly 128. 128mb should be the base price version honestly and with the price of memory is so low now, it doesn't cost them much. I also wonder if this camera will have the same overheating issues the GoPro has. Honestly, I'd rather get something with an SD card, much cheaper and I can expand the memory even more for cheaper.

How much memory can u recommend for the battery life it has?
Good question. The footage is transfered wirelessly if i‘m not mistaken and while charging the other device, the Actionpod, one could free up video storage by transferring all footage and empty the memory storage of the camera device.

If you mean letting the camera film for the duration of one charge - shooting at 2.7k for 60minutes is roughly 27Gb. The Action Pod has a battery life up to 170mins, so 64Gb should do the trick
I have GO2. It is little camera but have heat issues and can only film about 20 min without case. I had it on my helmet and it is impossible to know if I am turned it on. Missed many moves because that. Now coming with the case which is same same like GoPro. Så why don’t buy GoPro?
The Go 3 has no heat issues anymore and beeps nice and loudly when you hit record on & off 👌

I have the Go2 but with my chin mount, the wind noise is unbearable.
I find that with pretty much any action camera mounted to the helmet without an external mic. The Go 2&3 do have a mic smack bang right in the center which doesn’t help
Nice camera but the way to transfer files is not simple ... non- standard files too, for photos.. you need the proprietary program on the computer, or on a tablet or a phone .. you need the serial number of your cam to use the program.. you can't just connect the cam to your computer and download the files to a program like photoshop ....they have to be converted first through their own program .. this is a serious limitation and it has put me off this camera , which is a shame as it has qualities apart from that .. if hey did recording in .jpg format, and the possibility to connect your cam to a computer as a mass storage, it would be great and I would buy it ( I have a Go2 and I don't use it anymore because of the time I have to waste to download and convert files ......
is the pod water proof too ?

The action pod is splashproof (IPX4) with the camera module attached.
Water-resistant is not water-proof - these are different IP ratings!!! For protection against water, research the ratings of IP60 up to IP69K to understand more about it.
Quoting: „An IP Rating (also known as an Ingress Protection Rating or International Protection Rating) is a way of showing the effectiveness of electrical enclosures in blocking foreign bodies such as dust, moisture, liquids, and accidental contact“.

Stabilisation looks a bit dodgy ? Also quality doesn’t look any better than GO 2 so I can’t justify upgrading at this stage. TBH I really don’t need that silly screen poddy thingo lol 😂
What settings did he use? There is a new setting called „FreeFrame“ with reduced quality but the possibility to choose the framing, e.g. portrait or landscape (or both if you export it to two different videos) and to adjust the horizon and some other editable features at later times when you edit and in the postproduction. @motofeelz ?

You’re all over it! I wasn’t using Free Frame though but is a great feature. Like with all action cameras, stabilizing during low light doesn’t work it’s best and causes blurriness. All my other day time footage is super smooth

Thermals, Battery life, processing power, storage I guess. Plus it’s not targeted as a GoPro replacement, it’s more of a “lifestyle” POV camera for social media.
For the size of it I can see why it’s only 2.7k. It’s a step up from 1440p with the GO 2. The techs getting there

Looks like another biased (just pro things) video. This is not goog for cutomers. I always look for true testers who tell EVERYTHING about products (goods and bads) to help people to choose right stuff. It takes a lot to transfer files from this device! A LOT! It have some amazing features but many are bad ones and he didn't mentioned like it didn't provide 4k. GoPro is years ahead in many aspects, they provide top notch performance and most important GOPRO ARE WAY CHEAPER THAN THIS CAMERA !!! They replaces up two cameras if you have a problem, THAT'S REAL VALUE, AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION FOCUSED COMPANY.
