Well done Frank, could have opened a market stall with that lot, well done with the releases too, take what you need for a feed and let the rest live to fight another day... as my old mate George used to say “ if you take that fish lad, it’s a pool without a big fish in it, put it back and there’s always the chance you’ll catch it again when it’s BIGGER! 👍
Thanks Peter. With the exception of whiting and edible size (under 50cm) flathead I pretty well release everything else. That big one just had to go back and given the location, I think he/she is pretty safe from the white bucket brigade (even though I had one lol).
Hey Frank, looks like a great spot to soak a bit and enjoy the sun. Can you give me the exact latitude and longitude and a guide to best times and baits, thanks. I won't show too many people.
You just had to do it didn't you? 🤣🤣🤣 Great session and great to see you release that fish. You probably caught more fish in that one session than when you went to the Cape eh? Likely heading down the Fleurieu in a few weeks depending on whether a mate can come or I may go solo. That's a great spot for sure.
Hahaha, I did warn you what was coming lol. I love fishing there, the number and variety of fish it produces is amazing and that flattie was one to dream about. Ones that size have to go back, for sure. Definitely more than the Cape, but to be honest the fishing there was really only a sideline on the whole experience. Fleurieu is great, pity the fishing there is now only a shadow of what it was when I was a kid - enjoy.
@@captainfrank01 Yeah I'm really not that fussed if I/we catch much as I just enjoy being there. We had an excellent session on the Squid last time and I would like to get down to Blowhole Creek to fish for old times sake. We shall see how it all works out. Thanks for the video.
Great session Frank. Now I'm retired and my van is totally 'offgrid' capable I should plan a trip to KI, It's been 28 years since my last visit but I have great memories of the week I spent at Western River Cove. KIis a very special place
Epic flatty!
Thanks Glen, it was certainly a memorable fish!

Spot on Doug! It was a good session for sure and fish for tea that night and several others later!
Wow frank im glad you let the flatty go what a true fisherman
Thanks! It's important not to take the big breeding fish!
Great session Frank,
Good c and r with the flathead, he maybe not so lucky if the "kill everything you catch" muppets get him !

@@AustralianAngler Yes, it was a good one for sure Peter. Western River is one of my favourite spots ever, you should go!
Nice flatty mate that’s a 3 meter specimen
Lol Got the dog!
Good day fishing Frank. 14 months since you were there, seems like only a couple of months, Not funny when you get to our age.
Thanks Keith, yes time flies as they say - and I'm not laughing!
