@@30AndAWakeUp You’re Welcome:)! I know you would prefer to go explore alone. I appreciate that preference. It’s also nice to see a snippet once in awhile!
Really like this port guide. I have an excursion booked through Princess when I hit Sint Maarten, but this valuable information for my inevitable next visit.
I really did like this review. It worked! When I take a cruise, I want to know what is available and this video truly hit the mark. The lack of shade was truly helpful. I do get tired of videos showing the cabin and food, as they all look the same. Thank you and I hope you do more of these videos. I just subscribed.
Not a worry in the world, cold beer in my hand. Life is good today, life is good today. 🎶🍻 Great timing, I had just sat down for lunch and your video popped up. Good info and helpful for anyone visiting Philipsburg by cruise ship. As long as there is a nice sidewalk, hardly seems worth a water taxi to save a ten minute walk. And seemed a very pleasant stroll. Enjoy!
This is exactly the type of port video I love. We like to just get off a ship and visit the island. Thanks for doing this and I hope you'll do more. BTW, you haven't accepted my Shipmate request on Shipmate. 😊
Oh! And any Dutch restaurant is going to have frikandel. It’s like a Dutch hot dog. But it doesn’t taste like a hot dog…it’s a mixed meat patty or (more commonly) sausage and it’s REALLY good! Served on its own or in between bread. 😊
@30 And A Wake Up I understand fully. When I visit a place, I take notes and collect information for friends that may follow. I don't have near the audience that you do. Keep traveling.
This is perfect...I thought I had to take the long way around when walking into the city. I was there about 2 years ago and am going back in January...now I know about that path...so great recap....I think I will then catch a taxi to that bar by the airport to see that planes land by the beach.
When we were there last month, we just rented 2 beach bed and umbrella for $20 spend all day until time to go back to the ship. , we just grab snacks and drink from the store nearby and beaches nice and easy from. Chip walk back-to-back.
Wow! I would swear you had a past life as a videographer and tour guide. Thanks for the great tour and honest assessment of your visit. I can't wait to see more of this and your regular content. :)
I know that you are doubting if you do this well. But, Kevin, I thought this was a great video! (Very much worth giving up a Friday night.) Congrats, you've scored with a new vlogging style. 🏖
Was there pre 1999 or so, soggy dollar bar in Simpson bay, take the tender and tie up, was a great time, loved the differences in the french side, topless or even nude bathing and great for international phone calls , when you are being paid to be there , it’s double quid in

Thanks for the great video. Such a beautiful place! Early this morning I watched a van channel that shared their Princess cruise. In case you'd like to watch it's LivinRision! . Husband and wife tour on and off board.
I liked this video format regarding the port of call albeit it makes sense that it was short in duration. That said, I particularly enjoy your detailed cruise line comparisons.
More videos like these Kevin! Super informative. Did you chance upon going anywhere close to the airport area? Heard about planes getting super low before landing.
Thanks Kevin for this good info. Because of you, I have just booked my first cruise on MSC, 09Apr out of Port Canaveral for 11 days. Nassau is the first stop so these types of videos are helpful. I have a question for you regarding what you packed....as I watched that video. Is there anything that you wish you had brought with you? Anything you found you could have left behind? Cheers Brian Paul
For anyone planning on visiting, I have to say during the low season I recommend avoiding Philipsburg, the locals can get really pushy for you to buy at their stores plus most of the beach bars and activities close down completely
will be here next month. My husband has difficulty walking long distances or standing for long times so we booked a tour but what I can not seem to find out is how far from the boat to where you meet your tour guide? Do they have like golf carts to shuttle people to that area or strictly just have to walk it. Need to know if I should keep the tour or cancel. It does not allow mobility scooter so we would have to walk to the tour pickup. Thank you
I've been meaning to ask you what have you been doing for currencies for the different countries you visit? PS I will be in St Maarten sometime in May on my cruise so this is helpful. 🙂
I would be very interested if you would read off the excursions each ship offers and the prices. I would choose the excursions so interested in what they offer. Do they fill up fast? Do people book them before the ship leaves? Does your personal credits help offset that as well?
Yeah, onboard credit can help offset it. I'll try to talk about it in the future. People do book some before the cruise with the popular ones selling out. But there always seems to be some available onboard. Lots of times you can walk to the end of the pier and get an excursion from vendors as well.
If you look at an itinerary of any cruise ship on their web site, they will list all the ports, how long the ship is in the port and what excursions are offered. Now, the excursions can book out months before the cruise starts, it depends on the port of call. The one major excursion I wanted on my Alaska cruise in June is already booked and I’m on standby…

awww...well that's awesome
I'm an avid cigar smoker, do cruise ships have cigar lounges, do they sell Cubans on board?
Princess ships have a cigar lounge called Churchill.
Is this Martinique or Sint Maarten
Sint Maarten (Saint Martin)
Beer and pancakes sounds disgusting! 😂
Bourbon whipped cream on waffles is good thoigh.
I know right!
How does visa work? I know a lot of countries are Visa free for US passport holders, what if you are not US citizen? Do they have visa upon landing?
You have to check with each country but I think most cruises are visa exempt..but definitely check with the cruise line.
