Set notifications for motion alerts, now it would be nice to receive them lol only sends alerts when it wants. Walking by my cameras and it does not send any alerts 🤬🤬
How to create App Alert Tones (Motion Sounds) that are useful like “Front Door”, “Back Door”, “Garage Door” So that you know for sure where the motion is coming from.
One MAJOR disadvantage is that when a sensor is triggered there is no alert sent as a text message to phones....only email. For example, water/freeze sensor is triggered by a leaking water heater...user does not immediately get a text message on phone...only 12 hours later discovers the problem when reading emails.
yes .... BECAUSE ring is penalizing you for not paying for monitoring... My cat can walk by my kitchen camera and my phone lights up and alerts me.... my front door gets kicked in creating whole house alarm... and it sends me an email .... NO ALERT... Ring greedy low life folks.
Thanks for the video, question.. will the ring 3 send out sound when motion is detected? Say, someone at your door that shouldn't be there gets a whistle or something to let them know there's a camera?
The app has the sophistication to tell you if it's a person detected, the notification settings should also have this feature where I only get chime and notification when the AI detects a person, I still want it to detect motion and log those videos to the cloud but in terms of my phone notifications I only only only only want person detection alerts.
We appreciate you sharing such an idea! Please send us a DM on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram, so we can provide some more information on how to share this with the Ring Community.
My parents aren’t super tech savvy and every extra step is an inconvenience. I would like to be able to set up a custom “status” such as Home_1 and Home_2 where home1 mutes notifications while home and home2 allows for notifications while home. Because as it stands there’s really no difference between Home and Away.
Hi,can you advise me how to set up the ring burglary alert notifications? We have set it up on my office and it only ring one time on my phone even it’s considered “important” when the motion has been detected,we basically can’t hear nothing while we’re sleeping at night, please tell me how to change it, thank you very much 🙏
Hi Jacky. Let's get this taken care of right away, so you can protect your home and have peace of mind. We'd like to help. Please send us a PM/DM on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter for further support. We look forward to hearing from you.
Do the notifications come through the app or via email ? I ask as I want notifications through my phone but not my ipad which uses the same email account
Hi, neighbor. That is a great question. Notifications will come directly from the app. Please feel free to send us a message through Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook if you have any other questions.
Hi Kelly. That's a great question. There is an option to enable a Motion Schedule on your Ring devices. The motion scheduling control allows you to schedule coverage to avoid receiving alerts triggered by a regular occurrence. For example, if you know your garbage always gets picked up between 7:30 AM and 7:45 AM on Tuesdays, you can schedule your motion detection to turn off during that time so that you only receive notifications outside this timeframe. You can learn more here: support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022462472-Utilizing-Motion-Detection-with-your-Ring-Battery-Devices.
Is there a way to only get phone notifications for motion detection on my cameras only when my ring alarm is set to away mode. When I am home and there is a motion detection o don't want notifications as I will get lots with kids coming and going....I JUST want notifications when alarm is set to away /armed. Thanks!
Hi there, Cranston. Having full control of your Ring Alarm in the Ring app is important to your peace of mind, as it allows you to keep your home protected. We are here to help. Yes, with "Modes", you can adjust your Ring Alarm to not detect motion when you are home. To do so, you can visit the "Mode Settings" in the Ring app. To learn more about this feature, please see here: support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036107792-Control-All-your-Ring-Devices-with-Modes. If you have additional questions, feel free to send us a DM on Twitter or a PM on Facebook, and we will be there to support you.
@@ring thanks. I know that about the motion detectors but can you do it with cameras? I have seen this Brought up a lot in forums but there seems to be no answer. Can I only get camera notifications only when alarm is set to away? I understand that's not possible?

Hello there, I’m having a issue with my ring stickup cam. I’ve replaced the low battery, & it still alerts me that’s it’s on critical. Not sure how to get it back to normal features. Thank you.

Otherwise, feel free to give us a call at 1-800-656-1918, (or if outside the US: ring.com/callus) 24/7. We look forward to hearing from you.
This was helpful. The Neighborhood feature was driving me nuts, as it encompassed an area originally with about 150,000 people. I do not need to know every time someone in my city loses their cat. So, I was able to just adjust it to my block and the few surrounding. Much better
Hey there, neighbor. Keeping updated with new settings in your Ring app is crucial to your overall experience with Ring. Titles to settings are subject to change at any moment, and a few have been updated. If you'd like more specifics, please feel free to send us a DM, and we're more than happy to help.
@@ring what is the best address for dm? I don't see that feature in the about info of this channel. Basically what are the current labels for "people only mode" and "rich notifications"?
Thanks for reaching out again. People Only Mode was changed to be called "Smart Alerts". It's the same feature; we just renamed it to be more applicable to other situations as well. You can read how to set up smart alerts here: support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032947972 -Refining-Your-Motion-Alert-Notifications-for-People-and-Other-Motions-. I recently purchased a stick up battery camera. I have it on my counter right next to my door aiming towards my door. There’s no glare. I got it because I feed stray cats and I wanted to get notifications whenever an animal or something is at my back door. Unfortunately, I am not getting any notifications only whenever I walk by. I don’t have people only mode nor do I have rich notifications. Can someone help and tell me what I can do so I can get notifications whenever a animal or a human is at my back sliding door? I really wish the same! I had a Eufy that always alerted me to when someone even just walked on the porch.
My parents aren’t super tech savvy and every extra step is an inconvenience. I would like to be able to set up a custom “status” such as Home_1 and Home_2 where home1 mutes notifications while home and home2 allows for notifications while home. Because as it stands there’s really no difference between Home and Away.

Can you set a schedule for notifcations? So basicly you only get notified with motion after 6pm to 6am?

I find the notifications incredibly unreliable. The bell sound works for an hour and then not the rest of the day? (nothing to do with WIFI)
