Probably the first in the entire youtube to review this grinder. Been looking for something like this for ages. Maybe sort out your camera focus abit..haha. Otherwise great job man! thanks and keep it up
thanks for sharing, at first i was planning to clean the grinder but accidentally turning and made the grind size not as factory setting. it was before march 2020. i couldnt find any good explanation as u did to recalibrate it. i just no idea at all. because WORK FROM HOME, so i grind coarser and just doing pour over. i will try again as u shared to calibrate it!!thanks a lot
Thanks for the review. I'm waiting for my grinder from china. I'm buying it for home use and what I don't really like is the big hopper. I'm thinking convert it to single dose when I got it in hand 😁
Not a bad choice if your budget tight, definitely better than Breville’s own grinder. But if budget allows, get the Niche or Eureka, which would be a pretty good combo with BES920
Jagjit Singh Depends on your budget and expectations. At its price, definitely good value, and is perfectly capable giving you consistent grinds for non pressurized basket espresso. However, as mentioned in the video, I wish fine adjustment is available to allow more precision in dialing in. Also, you may want to consider what espresso machine you are pairing with. Overall, this is a good grinder, and I would recommend it, unless you are looking for top notch performance.
Hey there. There is no indication on what the original grind setting was, and probably might even be different between machines. The default setting is not important in my opinion, what you really want to know is how many steps from zero (where the burrs are starting to have contact) will give you the right grind size you need.
I tune the grind size step by step finer, until reaching a point where the burrs will start to have slight contact, giving some noticeable contact noise. From there, I adjust one step coarser, and set it to “zero”, such that I can never go finer. For reference, I usually use grind settings 5-10 from “zero” to attain good espresso pressure. Coffee beans type and freshness may add variance into the grind size required, but usually I dont go below 5 from “zero”, which will end up choking the shot (at least for my espresso machine).
@@patrickteong2590 During grinding. Just dial in step by step finer (during dialing the steps, I keep the machine off). After you hear the contact noise at a particular step, switch the machine off and go coarser, then set zero.

Hello, how is your WPM ZD-17N Electric Grinder until now?
Compare to baratza sette 30, which one is better ?
Hi, may I know from where you get the air tight container?
In Australia, the Sunbeam/Espressions EM0700 seems to be a rebrand of this. Thanks for the review mate.
Thank you for this review. Very helpful indeed!
Is the machine good for filter coffee or it's specialty is for espresso?
This or Baratza Sette 30?

Hi is the adapter fit with a 57mm portafilter (Lelit Anna)
Would you recommend pairing with Breville BES920?

Thank you for your reply and informative video. I guess I will go with this grinder for time being and probably upgrade later if feel needed. Cheers.
I am from Timor Leste like that you use our coffe
Would you recommend this grinder or should I spend more and get something else? For espresso non pressurized.

Did you have to take it to less than zero in order to grind for espresso?
Well done
how to recalibrate to default setting?

@@pianocc534 noted. thank you pianocc
Is the body of the machine steel or plastic?
Jagjit Singh Hey there. According to the manual, the body is made of stainless steel.

How to make it to Zero without any contact?

@@pianocc534 sorry to disturb. How to detect the contact noise? During grinding or no grinding?

@@pianocc534 Thanks a lot. Now I get "clearer" idea how to set zero. Thank you very much
What degree for espresso?
Sorry, cant get what you mean. You mean what grind settings?
Hello mate.
Can you grind straight to the porta filter without creating a mess?
Thank you.
Generally, it is pretty easy to use. Its not perfectly clean, but not terrible either. Only very little coffee will be spilled out during grinding.
bad auto focus, i cannot concentrate on your explanation.. and the armpit shot. lol
