You thinking “how would a millennial do this” and me, gen z, thinking “how would a 57 year old badass woman do this”
Good One...thanks. Yes I did it!
Great to hear that your friends and family are helpful. . I find that my Friends and Family have the 😬face and change the subject as if they are scared that its contagious.
Oh my goodness I had the same. I felt their concern, although they were not saying anything.
Congratulations! Target is fortunate to have you as an employee 😊
Thanks, appreciate your encouragement.
The two of us have had the most luck with Indeed. I always have a job search going in case something good comes up.
Wow that’s great advice
This was a very kind, thoughtful & sweet video. It sounds like reasonable advice although I'm not an expert in any of this, being currently employed, but I'm over 50 so the title caught my eye. I hope you're successful & happy with your role at Target. 😊
thanks for the comment. Successful maybe. Having fun, most definitly!
Great job keep up the good work
Thank you. I appreciate your support.
Good on ya! Nothing wrong with working a lower wage gig to tide you over until full retirement age. I'm planning to do the same.
Thank you...Appreciate your validation
Congratulations! Good job!
Thank you!
Thanks for the information. I am going to try and take your advise.😊
Best of luck!
During holidays, Target doesn't give enough hours and common to get 10 hrs a week.
Noted. This past holiday we were swamped with hours. Our store has little employee recruitment due to the location.
ALDI's would have been a better choice. They pay much higher and have better benefits and can get more hours. Growing company. Retail is getting hit hard.
Funny you say that, I agree.
I quit a stable teaching job at the age of 58. That was 2 years ago. I couldn't live with myself for what was being done to contact time with students.
Anyhow, I went into a completely different industry - designing learning and teaching digital packages and loved it. Sadly, I got requested for another team and have not enjoyed that.
I'm 60 now, heading to 61 this December and I have an interview for a different job again on Tuesday.
Basically, I'm not old enough not to be desperate for work and I can leave if I'm not happy.
thank you for sharing. I hope the situation sorts itself out. I also build digital products on line. If you ever want to join my group, the link is in the description. Best part is its FREE
Congrats 🎉 indeed is where I go to look for jobs and I'm in my 50's, threw them I have had several jobs, they do work I'm a living testimony to that. That's how I found my current position been there 4 years now , indeed is how I keep an eye on my old employer who laid me off, I actually found out they were hiring and I applied, they hired me back but I turned them down because indeed had found me something even better. Lol 😂
Awesome share, thank you! Great tip about former employer, appreciate your support.
Thanks.
Great to know this info was helpful. Appreciate your support
Once I turned 50, I usually had to have a friend working at the company or make a friend and get a referral.
Yup, totally understand. Stay within your network is good advice. Thank you
Congratulations on finding new employment that, is also close to your home. During the early 1980's, I used to work part-time for a retail store in the South similar to K-Mart. However, I never heard of a payroll title called "fulfillment". So, please tell us what you do each day at Target? (smile ... smile).
Thanks for asking....I fill orders placed online. We have two departments; Ship from Store or Order Pick up. It's a great way to get exercise.
@@itslisawright Thank you, for replying to my question. Back in the 1980's when, I worked for the K-Mart like store had to set up product shelves and then stock them with merchandise. Plus, I also had to support our Lay-A-Way section. So, I know what you mean about getting in a lot of daily exercise (smile ... smile).
You're lucky this does not work for everyone
Its been a year now and I'm still with Target. Their retention rate is very low.
@@itslisawrightsupermarket/retail work has a high turnover of staff as it's mainly crappy work
Indeed isn't helpful for me. There are a lot of ghost jobs on it in my area, and I've run into ageism on several occasions.
So sorry. Thank you for letting me know. Good topic for me to look into and discuss in the future. You triggered some questions for me to dive into.
@itslisawright ageism is REAL! I am 58 years old, and I KNOW that I was released from my company due to my age. Many tenure employees were let go. It's going on nine months and I will probably lose my home after Christmas.😢( A lot of companies keep jobs up as if they're looking because they're required to pretend that they're hiring)
Same situation.😢 no savings left from having to care for my parents and almost 1 year since my company layoff. I have no family support system left. My savings is gone therefore I am now mostly living on Credit cards hoping for a response to be paid a Livable wage. I am intelligent and able to multitask multiple software programs and use dual monitors. I have my own equipment and yet I still can't even find a customer service position for $18 that will respond.
The scam jobs can be time consuming as they are getting better at wasting our time. Typical ageism and ghosting.😢
No details on salary?!?. Wage rate? Part time? What does fulfillment mean for your job tasks?
Hello. Thank you for the questions. I have past videos discussing this, however its part-time, Minimum wage, and Fulfillment is pulling orders for online pick up and shipping customers.
Congrats. I prefer customer service people who are native to the country and area they are working in, so I respect a business that hires experienced people like you. I lose respect for a business if they hire only cheap labour (teenagers and immigrants who don't know anything about the products and don't care, or they don't speak English).
Appreciate your input.
Too bad none of these jobs pay a living wage.
I agree, however I chose to semi retire, work part time and fill my day sharing my story through video on YT and TT. I consider social media as a digital asset. Thanks for sharing.
Gross. Ughhh. My screen broke.
So sorry SoCal..I do appreciate your comment. Thank you for your continued support
@@itslisawrightPlease delete their rude comments, you deserve better. Thanks for sharing your video.

Appreciate seeing a happier story, thank you I'm in ny 50s, laid off yesterdaay after 15 years. Have seen multiple peers in similar circumstances these last few years.... I know this will be hard; i can handle hard. What i have to manage is staying hopeful. You helped today!
Thank you...appreciate you being candid with your situation. You will find something new. Best part is, you have strengh.
