Thank you so much 🎉 I really appreciate how easy you made it for me to find this link with the pinned post. You know what I'll be watching next. 😊 I've got 4 pups ready to adopt to their forever homes and I want to help these pups be more cooperative on the leash.
@jocereid3299 you need to learn them constantly. As soon u gonna slack they will take advantage of that moment. Btw what breed do u have out of curiosity
I tried walking to the mailbox today and there were so many distractions! Leaf, neighbors sidewalk chalk, curb and barking neighbor dogs. Time to go down the ladder and back in our yard. Some days it feels like we will never get there.
My Corgi-Poodle mix is very short. I have been trying to find tips to use treats while walking with the leash, but she is so short that it's a struggle for me. Her training is going amazing, and she is a people pleaser, but she is starting to jump while leashes because I have trouble holding the food at her level. Does anyone have any tips for short pups?
I follow another trainer that does Retrievers and he trains his dogs with as little food as possible. Maybe try high value treats but less often. Then in between use your filler commands like “yes” or “good boy/girl”. That way you aren’t always bending down. Maybe that would help
If you have tried offering him actual BBQ'd chicken ,roasted pork etc etc and NONE of it interested him then maybe you need to fast him before training so he will be very hungry and more likely to pay attention to the treats.

My puppy is ok on leash he just gets very distracted and doesn’t listen but he isn’t motivated by food or toys outside of the house
Have you figured it out yet? I have the same issue.
I am so lucky that my puppy just knew how to do this his entire life so far, he's so smart but these are amazing tips for when he gets older
Well u still need to learn them.
@@tyvonable yup yup, still very useful info

My female dog walks perfectly by my side. My other two male dogs I’m learning with them because they are roughhhhh. One’s a pup one’s a grown dog
How do I better motivate my puppy to walk with me? So far, he's been wanting to take a nap or go do his own thing because he's bored.
@YukiEditz Thank you! I'm hesitant to try human food because he has a history of throwing it up. It's not easy to startle him or catch his attention
Bond just ain’t there
Walking on leash is good
Even retractable leash
I have a border Collie it's ok for them

It’s been 7months! Hows them now?
@@ArtaxTheWarHorseI would also want to know
I have same dog as you 😊
How do you stop your puppie from chewing on the lead every time you try to walk it
my dog did the same thing eventually they will grow out of it( not professional advice just my experience)
Seconding the person above. Mine also grew out of it. You can try replacing it with a toy whenever they chew on it. They chew on anything as puppies.
My pup takes issue sitting at my left side. So strange! There must be a reason?
Mine too!
I’ve always trained my dogs to stay on my right side. I just want my dogs to be safe and away from traffic (just in case).
Lol my French bulldog didn’t even need training but my retriever is literally impossible to get on the leash
Hey what Kind of Snacks you give the dog to train it ? I tried with Some random and my dog got diarrhea.
My new puppy won't even wear a leash, how do I get her calm enough to get her used to wearing one?
That was helpful

Think I saw you at Crufts. Flyball. Were you there??? Appreciate your work.
Mine would be ripping my fingers off to get the treat and not interested in the behaviour.
What breed is this one ??
His name is Five Alive and he’s a Border Collie mix.
What if pup isn’t food motivated 😐
Same! I think that the food is to Strong and they just dont want snacks
If you have tried offering him actual BBQ'd chicken ,roasted pork etc etc and NONE of it interested him then maybe you need to fast him before training so he will be very hungry and more likely to pay attention to the treats.
Some puppies just dont eat that many treats lol. Especially smaller breeds
you can use a small part of the meal kibble in a training session
My puppy sitting on her bum and not looking at me at all😞
My dog don't like treats, she is not doing it with her food either
