    For me, instead of buying new, I would pick a slightly used Toyota Highlander with the 3.5L V6. Toyota's 3.5L V6 is very reliable, and I'm cautious of it's new turbo four.

      But the Toyota Highlander is very expensive compared to others and the third row is even too small for our 5-year-old. Along with the entertainment system is even worse than Subaru...

    Did you peek into my garage for your top pick? I’d have to agree. Yet, it’s nice to hear an expert’s perspective on the best of the planet, and what to avoid.Well done, thx.

    The new 2024 Toyota 4Runner was pushed back because of the issues with the Grand Highlander and the engines problems they are plagued with at the moment ..
    The old ones are good but nobody is paying those high prices .. Just get a Pilot or Pathfinder ..

    You should do a video on the Chevy Tahoe. History and dependability and cover used to new prices.

    I bought a brand new 2022 Explorer, within 5k miles I had to get a new transmission and it had 5 recalls before owning it for 6 months. I got rid of it as fast as I could. I have a 2024 Jeep GC now and we love it. I’ve never had an issue with CJDR vehicles, I’ve heard horror stories but never had any issues

    I bought a 2020 Explorer ST brand new, and other than the recalls, it's been dead reliable. Never left me stranded, and I drove it all over California with multiple trips to Vegas. I hit 50k miles in 4 years. I won't talk about the build quality, but as far as reliability goes, it's been almost 5 years since I've owned it, and the car runs like new. There are no issues with the engine or transmission. I'm guessing it has a 1 star reliability score ONLY because of all the recalls?

    I’ve only known one VW owner who ever bought a second one. They are always enticing, but the value proposition is destroyed by substandard reliability and niggling quality issues

      I am on my second Jetta with no issues. Between my two Jettas, I have taken nine road trips from Florida to Illinois and the Carolinas to visit family. In addition, I have not been late or missed a day of work due to mechanical issues.

    The Porsche cayenne wasn’t on the list? It’s a hugely popular midsize suv and very reliable. It’s also the most fun to drive with Porsche handling systems and insane powertrains.

    A big chunk of me wants to streeetttccchhh to get a Lexus RX or NX. And then I LOOK at them, and that HORRIBLE grill just swallowing the front end of the car brings the mind shattering ugly like one of Lovecraft's Elder Gods.
    Sigh.
    What's your take on the Mazda CX-50 and CX-5?

  • @mangoesification
    @mangoesification 3 місяці тому

    I test drove the Pilot and the CX-90. The Mazda was a better drive, but a family hauler it is NOT. There is barely any room for your kids many things. The lack of storage turned me off. I'm still waiting and watching. If Mazda can focus on storage solutions, it would easily surpass all other SUVs.

    To sum it up. Buy from japanese brands. Yes most are japanese car companies but made in north america but still way better quality than US based companies

    • @wazatna
      @wazatna 16 днів тому

      Except the Japanese models are small and cramped for most Americans, and until recently Toyota had the worst entertainment systems in their vehicle - dreaded Entune. If you have a large family, you need a large SUV, you simply buy a large Chevy or Ford and get the extended warranty for peace of mind and move on.

      @@jonboll2066 I'm 180 5'10" and feel cramped in most foreign models. Mazda makes great vehicles, just marketed too small for American market.

    Hyundai/Kia Motor Group sells more cars than Honda Group.

    If they don't have reliablity, they can't sold more than Honda Group.
