Six years ago, the Assassin in White, a hireling of the inscrutable Parshendi, assassinated the Alethi king on the very night a treaty between men and Parshendi was being celebrated. So began the Vengeance Pact among the highprinces of Alethkar and the War of Reckoning against the Parshendi.
Now the Assassin is active again, murdering rulers all over the world of Roshar, using his baffling powers to thwart every bodyguard and elude all pursuers. Among his prime targets is Highprince Dalinar, widely considered the power behind the Alethi throne. His leading role in the war would seem reason enough, but the Assassin's master has much deeper motives.
Expected by his enemies to die the miserable death of a military slave, Kaladin survived to be given command of the royal bodyguards, a controversial first for a low-status "darkeyes." Now he must protect the king and Dalinar from every common peril as well as the distinctly uncommon threat of the Assassin, all while secretly struggling to master remarkable new powers that are somehow linked to his honorspren, Syl.
Brilliant but troubled Shallan strives along a parallel path. Despite being broken in ways she refuses to acknowledge, she bears a terrible burden: to somehow prevent the return of the legendary Voidbringers and the civilization-ending Desolation that will follow. The secrets she needs can be found at the Shattered Plains, but just arriving there proves more difficult than she could have imagined.
Meanwhile, at the heart of the Shattered Plains, the Parshendi are making an epochal decision. Hard pressed by years of Alethi attacks, their numbers ever shrinking, they are convinced by their war leader, Eshonai, to risk everything on a desperate gamble with the very supernatural forces they once fled. The possible consequences for Parshendi and humans alike, indeed, for Roshar itself, are as dangerous as they are incalculable. - Фільми й анімація

No movie, book, show, or video game has given me chills as the Stormlight Archive has. Thank you, Brandon Sanderson.
Oathbringer made me cry so many times...
@@kaladin457 Rythm of war was the one for me. I cried like a kid for like 5 minutes lol
The I am unity sequence destroys me every time
“I am death itself, Defeated One, and I’ve finally caught up with you”. Chills
Couldn't put it better myself
In the last 20 years, from berserk and one piece to asoaif or metal gear, nothing has matched it
The feeling i still get listening to SA graphic audio, insane chills. the heralds abandon the oathpact, kaladins ideals, dalinar opening the perpendicularity..
Mistborn came close with the end of lost metal haha, but seriously, the cosmere is top tier of all time.
'Honour is dead but I'll see what I can do' then he yeets himself into a pit vs 4 shard bearers armed only with a spear what a fucking mad lad
I mean radiant powers outrank shardbearers any day every day. Not a particularly hard call
@@rajasurapaneni3501 It kind of still was. His lashes don't work on opponents with Shardplate and he can still get one-tapped by a Blade if he gets hit right. He wasn't stronger than them by a large margin at that point, I want to believe.
@@brokenspacebar9628 I guess. But seeing how Szeth absolutely bullied shardbearers earlier on, I was fairly more like: "beat their ass kaladin" than "crap what's going to happen to kaladin?"
@@rajasurapaneni3501 Reading Szeth fight was glorious. I honestly thought that he would have been unstoppable, even with the possibility of versing Book 2 Kaladin and an armored Adolin together. He was a great "villain" in the first two books.
@@brokenspacebar9628 IKR? I was kind of upset that Kaladin managed to take him down as well as he did on the second round. I would think that Szeth had far more experience fighting in the air than him. But it was still clever how kaladin won so I like it.
If I don't make it - take care of my men.
What are you doing here bridgeboy?
Playing one of the ten fools
Welcome to the party
Adolin: steps into the ring.
Sadeas: "you have no idea what you got yourself into"
Kaladin: "you have no idea how imbalanced this fight will be."
That's when Sadeas forgot who the protagonists were
Reading the book, I could imagine the whole scene.
Listening to this, I could see it.
Seriously these are amazing
"I am high prince here!" is one of my favorite non-main-character quotes in the series
Same energy as Lopen's mom telling Elhokar to eat.
nah F the high lady. she's just trying to feed some greed in her heart. shed say or do anything to justify the situation
@@snowman9631 oh its sketch af but it's a good line
@@jonocasuyon4252 that scene killed me with laughter. She's the real hero of this book. You tell him mom!
I was a bit surprised that she was able to say that straightfaced to THE FUCKIN BLACK THORN. If Adolin or even Renarin actually got severely crypled or even died, she would be like number 3 or 4 on his List. Even with all the rumours running around the camps, she must have severely underestimated her situation.
The prophetic words of Captain Kaladin Stormblessed
“AND FOR MY BOON”
I think this moment is when Adolin stopped caring that something was "off" about Kaladin and began to respect him as an equal. God I love this series.
literal chills, yes ive read this before- but oh my actual goodness this book series just hits different, thank you Sanderson, your books are brilliant.
I had so much adrenaline in my veins while reading this, that I could not even sit down as I listened, I was pacing as I listened, this was one of the best moments in any book that I have ever read in my life. My god. I was waiting for kaladin to do something, I knew he would, but when he jumped in, I screamed so loudly my parents rushed into my room.
The music makes this scene even more incredible.
That’s what I am talking about. That’s why he’s literally MVP! That’s why he’s the GOAT! The GOAT!
No shard plate. No shard blade. Again four opponents armed with both, and he only with a spear. Yep, fair fight.
This is different from the version I listened to couple years back on audible. Sounds pretty sweet tho
Obligatory "Honor is dead, but I'll see what I can do"
I'm sure people on the bus were wondering why I was shouting "fuck yeah" and punching the air whilst reading this part
FANTASTIC
Does anyone know which exact audio book version this is I would love to re listen to this masterpiece with audio of this quality?
GraphicAudio, its pretty expensive but it adds a ton to the story experience
Great rendition
AND AS MY BOON!
Kaladin scuttled backward on the sand
BEST.LINE.EVER
Просто восхитительно!
AnD FoR My BoOn
And for my boon!
Can anyone tell me the name of the background music at the end?
Last day on earth
I'll see what I can do
AND FOR MY BOON
That one dislike must’ve been Sadeas.
And his wife now
Evan Khan lol
Ah, the days when we could see the dislikes. Good times
and moash
Honer will never die so long as it lives in the hearts of men
Great quote
Notum!!
Yes!
Honor is not dead so long as he lives in the heart of men
Chad Notum
I'll tell you my experience reading this scene. I was alone in my room reading the book.
When Kaladin said, Honor is dead. But I'll see what I can do, I screamed, yeah while clenching my fist and teeth. And I had goosebumps. Had tears of happiness. It was just too much to absorb. So stopped for a minute or so. Then finally resumed when I was normal again.
@itsLeviOsa Exactly. This scene is one of the best.
Same! I loved this part.
This was my exact reaction. I can still remember it from like two years ago
I remember literally fist pumping during the first book when Kaladin leaps across the chasm while the bridge is being pushed into place. Haha, Sanderson always gets the best reactions out of me.
Same here my friend!! I stopped for a minute it was too much too take, tears rolled out my eyes, i was overwhelmed.
This part of the book made me realize we can tear up due to pure hype.
Brandon Sanderson is an amazingspren
I don't really react much when I read a book even funny scenes the most I do is blow air through my nose. When I read this chapter and Kaladin said that iconic line I pumped my fist and cheered out loud. Never have I been this invested in a book series ever! Period
Honor isn’t dead, not as long as he lives in the hearts of men.
Dislikes include the four shardbearers who proceeded to have their asses kicked
This has been one of my favorite scenes in the Cosmere. Vin and Kaladin rule!! They are respectively the best characters of their stories! Just my humble opinion...
Roses are red, violets are blue, 2:03 2:10
this is beautiful. Thank you
I would love to see HBO adapt this masterpiece in future.
I think any adaptation would have to be animated. With the spren being so ubiquitous throughout the story (and it's very important that they are) the amount of CGI that would be needed to just to include them as often as they need to be would be insane in live action. And that's before considering all the other things that would need special effects
an anime for the stormlight, a videogame for mistborn. Thats all I want
Anime would be the best for the Stormlight Archives.
@@robertwinslade3104 star wars and love death + robots, gives me reason that 3-D would be vest for it
No thanks. Not until the series is complete. We all know what they do when they have no more source material to adapt.
Give Graphic Audio some love. They nailed it!
Could you please do the battle part of this and or the fight where Kaladin saves Dalinar and his army. Thanks
KAL A awesome you amazing
Is there is a link to this scene?
Honor is not dead, so long as he lives in the hearts of men.
Of course odium stopped by to give the one dislike
Ruin as well.
Dammit Todd
The first time I read this part, I don’t think I noticed “Honour is dead, but I’ll see what I can do”
This scene always gives me chills. perfect scene setting by both writer and teh GA team. Perfect rendition of Dallinar's desperation.
Honor is not dead, so long as he lives in the hearts of men!
I would love to listen to and enjoy the graphic audio versions, but the line delivery just doesn’t flow well even in this scene.
“honor is dead,” spoken in a low, almost depressed tone,
“But I’ll see what I can do!” In a breakneck change, it sounds more upbeat, almost confident.
I don’t believe the VA for Kaladin apple both parts of the phrase at once with a brief pause. It just doesn’t flow together.
Funny how I just finished this particular chapter, browsing youtube for a breather after the epicness of what I just read, and lo and behold, on the recommendations; this audio extract. WTF! 😅
“I shall fall and rise a better man each time”
I think that reading the book and listening to the graphic audio version side by side will be great instead of just listening the audio.
You know what, the next time I reread Stormlight, I think I'll give the audiobooks a shot.
These are graphic audiobook
this is graphic audio but honestly the regular audio is much better
@@snowman9631 I respect your opinion but I disagree. I think graphic audio can overdo it sometimes but 9 times out of 10 i enjoy a graphic audio book more than a regular one
@@starwars4427 michael kramer, atleast for every sanderson book is just better. Graphic audio just gets anoying
too much money i hope you got a full time job
Best book I have ever read and I read a lot...
I Absolutely hate how Dalinar says "is there Honor?"
He still Said that so normal With so much Pride and Power in His voice.
It would me much better when He Said that With a breaking voice and more despair in His voice.
Thank you, for uploading this... I was commenting on other videos to upload this moment...
👍
This moment literally had me at the edge of my seat during book 2. Absolutely loved this scene.
I’ve gone over the scene what feels like 100s of times and it still makes me throw my hands up in the air
You are a golden God my friend, thank you. Also, obligatory stick comment
@@COSMEREAUDIO are you going both chapters of the fight? Pre and post Kal? When will you start it?
I know it’s gonna be good already!
The Graphic Audio versions are so good! The scene gives me chills anyway, but that music they use in this scene is chef’s kiss.
This stuff is great
But I can't help but hear it differently in my head when I'm reading, and then I don't like the delivery of the lines as much, even if they are well done. Bah can't win
I remember exactly where I was when I heard this (audiobook).
Everytime i get to a re-read of this series this part always gives me pause, i dont think that Brandon has written a more impactful section.
Dunno, I feel like the speaking of the 3rd ideal at the end of the book matches it. Really though nothing matches the hype of Words of Radiance.
Can you include the whole fight, or will you only do the honor is dead part?
Rahul A k
Yes Pleaseeeee do the entire fight
ua-cam.com/video/SIeKnnzTw3s/v-deo.html
This is the Graphic Audio version. The entire series is on their site.
One of my fav scenes in the series
"Honor is dead"
"Have you been talking to the Stormfather too?" xD
Damnation... that.... was awesome!
Kaladin's voice is too different for the scene, makes it a bit jarring.
In comparison to other parts of the Graphic Audio? Or did you listen to the audiobook? Cuz yeah they're very different
Almighty and the heralds praise you sir 💎
'Honor is dead but I'll see what I can do'
Goosebumps every time. One of the absolute best and most memorable phrases in fantasy!
Loved this scene so much.
Someone knows the name of the final song?
@@COSMEREAUDIO 2:14
@@COSMEREAUDIO thank you man
What was the name of the song?
GOOSEBUMPS. EVERY. FUCKING. TIME
Still my favorite quote out of any series I've read
Woo boy when that music hits. Damnation.
How does this quote give me chills just thinking about it
Words of radiance was one of the best books I’ve ever read, didn’t like oath bringer at all but I hope I like rhythm of war once I start reading it.
Kaladin and Adolin are true bros
Chills! One of my favourite books coming alive!
My favorite part is when Katadyn goes it's Stormlighting archiving time
Where can I find all this artwork?
Geez... I would pay MONEY to hear the whole series read in these voices...
the whole series is read like this. i believe it's sold by graphic audio on their website
Youre NEVER gonna believe this
@@belugawhale8128 there's one on UA-cam
Epic

is there a version without the music?
We NEED a movie per book, maybe two movies per book. Give Sando 1 billion and let him make the best best movie series to ever exist.
Daaaamn i would love to see it either animated or live action
