Great informative video I am using Nasal Decongestant for more than 13 years now whenever I use it I get relief for about 6 to 7 hours and breath easily do u think my nasal problem will be solved with medication ? I have tried Nasal steroid only it helped but not at that point that I can stop using Nasal Decongestant so eventually after using Nasal Steroid Fixonase for more than 7 to 8 months I had to stop it.

Nasal decongestants like oxymetazoline can be used only for 3 to 5 days.
Steroud nasal spray cam be used instead. Even this need to be tapered off slowly

Sir ,I recently was suffering from nose bleeding and my doctor prescribed me xylometazoline drops for around 2 weeks 3 drops 3 times a day . Should I use it for this much time or not?
I have already been using it for three days now.
The problem is if i leave using it,my nose gets congested and
which later causes bleeding when i slowly try to blow it as i already told there is probably a small wound inside nose.

Use it for total 5 days only.
Apply ice pack over your nose.
      Do not blow your nose

Can this condition be permanent even when patients stop using decongestant nasal spray?

Hi sir, I don't know which stage I'm on. I had been suffering from allergic rhinitis for 3 years. I used to use over the counter nasal sprays like otrivin or nasivion for 3 years as they used to give me instant temporary relief. But gradually their potency started to decrease and I had to use more and more just to keep my nasal passage free. Today my parents took me to an EnT specialist when they came to know about what I've been doing for so long. The doctor said that I'm suffering from medicamentosa. He prescribed a nasal spray and a few medicines. I want to have a secondary consultation with you sir. Can you please help.

Months? hahaha I used my nasal spray for over 20 years. I don't anymore. I got surgery to correct my nasal problems. To be fair though, you can't blame everything on the patient. There was obviously problems in the first place that weren't being addressed, which then led to medicamentosa.

    • @drzakirhussainent7860

True. Cannot blame the patient.I don't mean to hurt anyones feeling.

Rhinitis medicamentosa is common after nasal drops application and not after steroid nasal spray.
Steroid nasal spray can be used for a long time

I am very demotivated and don't want to visit any doctor again because he was very rude the way he was talking and keep saying you are addicted to this drop but in reality i am nor addicted nor do i like it it's just that i can't sleep with my nose fully block i get head aches for this reason.
