Thanks man. This was helpful. The bolt on the plastic hood is 7mm and about 1/2 inch long so don't lose it. The other side of the plastic cover is connected with a hose clip. The two bolts on the IAC are 8mm and about 1.25 inches long.
Seems like a touch of light synthetic oil would be good, also actuating the stepper while cleaning. You would have to find the voltage requirements before doing so.
I have a 2000 Focus ZX3 2.0L My car will idle high some times not all the time. It sometimes goes as high as 4k rpm and hold it for 5-10 seconds. Stopping at a light I hold the clutch or just take it out of gear and it jumps up to 2500- 4k for 10 sec or so then when it idles down it runs great and then almost idles so low it wants to stall. Would it be my idle air control valve? I have looked and looked for a vacuum leak. I just got it so I'm trying to fix it up. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
I have a 2014 Ford Focus with an annoying intermittent problem. It drops revs to 200 then bounces back up to 1000 on start up engine warm/cold and when driving “ revs drop to around 200 and slows down” have had the aux and timing belt changed already. Any help would be appreciated
What spray stuff did you use to clean the idle valve? My Corolla is idling a little low, and I figure the idle valve is dirty. It's a 2004 with 110,200 miles.
looking at the IAC design id say mk2. 04-07 (mentioned at 0:42) covers basically the early Mk2 (or it does here in the UK, where the Mk2 ran from 05-2014)
@@kingarthur83rd Not really easy to find this IAC sensor from Focus mk2 (2006 mainland Europe version) - it is just not there ☺ ... throttle body also pretty different and bolted with 4 bolts (this is same like other models).

@@robertovarela6917 Nope. Just remove the four bolts holding the throttle body on, remove the throttle cables, and take the throttle position sensor from the old one and put it on the new one.

Great video, where can I see this performed on a Ford Escape 08-2012?
Any new updates to the focus or did you do a delete? :) .

I noticed you’ve built some sort of ad on air filter because I do not want to replace the air filter with $145 air Filter
I have the same problems from my 2012 ford focus. Did this fix your problem for your ford focus
Please new video with pretty same content (= like "how to clean IAC valve") and a bit newer version of Focus (engine code : HWDA, HXDA, HXDB, etc).
Ayo! Are we not going to address what was just said at 6:40?
😂 Glad it wasn't just me who caught that😂

Can you walk me threw it I have a07 Ford focus ses my car is doing it also I wanna switch the part before it gets to bad
I recently replaced my IAC valve from Auto Zone. It cost 53 dollars.
oof. I paid like $200 to have a dealer replace mine back in 2008. I was young and dumb. Hurts to know I could have done it myself for 1/4th the cost.
I have a 05 fordfocus zx5 2.0 that loses power i guesswhen i step on the gas
Actually the air filter is in the driver’s side wheel well. 🧐 It’s supposed to be a lifetime filter. 🙃
From which generation this Focus is (mk3, mk4, ...)?
