Just bought one of these for the princely sum of £9.00 . Lovely little camera though the aperture sticks open at below 1/30sec. BULB is fine. Loaded with B/W 400asa film and away we go. Great little video, many thanx. One point, it seems that I buggered up the aperture sticking due to CHANGING the speed BEFORE cocking the shutter. (thumbs up)
Hey! Just got one of these retinette 022 as a gift but the shutter is not making any noise/working. I saw that these work without batteries. Do you know what can I do to make It work? Thanks
No, you don't need batteries. To see if it is working, try this: Open the back (without film) and point the lens towards a light. Then cock the shutter by advancing the lever and press the shutter release button. If it works you will see the light through the back of the lens opening and closing as fast as you have set the speed. If nothing happens, you should take the camera for repair.
Hey, thank you for this video ! But my photos are all blurry, i don't know what setting i should do ... i think it's the speed but i'm not sure. Can you help me?
If photos are blurry then you should check 2 things: 1st make sure each time you have correctly adjusted the focus distance ( 3:02 in the video ). Be careful if your lens is in meters or feet. 2nd check your shutter speed ( 2:39 in this video ). If it is below "30" (that is 1/30th of a second) or "15" then you should position the camera on a firm surface or tripod. If none of the above work, then probably the focus ring of your lens has some sort of problem and needs a repair.
Excellent video, thanks so much for showing all the necessary processes to shoot this camera. Very well done, clear and concise!

Thank you so much !!
what types of films i can use/buy?
thanks you so much for the video, so helpful, does this camera auto focus?
No, it doesn't. You have to use the focus ring. This camera was made almost 20 years before the first auto focus one.
Thanks a lot
hey, how will i load in film that has 24 exposures?
Same way as indicated in the video. The only difference is that you will set the film counter dial at 27 instead of the diamond mark ( 1:11 ).
Thank you, this video was amazing 😁 do you know the use of this little bottom behind the obturator?
Thanks! Not sure which one you mean, but it probably is the flash sync port.
Dankeschön
how do you know when the film has completely rewinded back to the spool ?
You will feel the difference in the tension when the spool will start rotating freely, after the film being completely rewound.
I loved it ...
It makes also colored pictures? or just b&w?
Yeah, with film cameras you can always do both, it just depends on the type of film loaded in
Does it work with Ultramax 400 color print film 36 exp . 35mm ?
Yes, with this camera you can use any 35mm film.

what type of film does this camera use?
It uses the classic 35mm film.
Do I need to cock the shutter before every photo? or just the first one?
Yes you do. You need to cock the shutter before every photo, to advance the film to the next frame and to be able to hit the shutter button.
Tengo varias Retinnetes, pero esta no. Y la quiero....no tengo remedio.
